Payson's one of the most underrated destinations in the high country. It doesn't have the shopping, resorts, or golf courses that people look for in Sedona or Flagstaff, and to me that's a good thing. There's still some grit left in Payson, and that makes it perfect for wilderness excursions. Great video!

Hey thank you! Payson has always been in my top 3 places to visit in Arizona ever since I moved here......Never gets old!
@rvtech101 Жыл бұрын
My adult son and I just spent a week in the area checking out several caves in the area. We also did Horton and Wagon wheel. We did Rainbow last month. I’ve lived in Arizona my whole life and have been to all places described multiple times. Just so people know, I’m 60 with a pacemaker and have had no problems doing any of the hikes he mentioned. Every one is beautiful, especially Rainbow Bridge. There is excellent dispersed camping throughout the area. On a separate note, not far from Payson is Fossil Creek, one of the most beautiful places in Arizona. It’s an easy short drive and well worth the extra few miles. If the weather turns, do what we did and spend the day hitting the multitude of thrift and secondhand stores in town, that’s a whole different kind of adventure!

Hey thank you for sharing! and yes! Fossil creek is an absolute stunning place to visit......I have only been there once but I do plan on going back in the future, Payson never gets old, even if you have already visited these places before, its a great getaway from the city

@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 If you liked Fossil Creek go one canyon north to West Clear Creek. At the upper end near Happy Jack it’s a deep rugged canyon, and the lower end it drops into the Verde near Camp Verde. It’s the most beautiful place in Arizona. Google it, it would be a great spot for your drone!

Great Video…… is visiting during July a good idea or is the weather just too hot?
@jessiesdroneadventures7464 Жыл бұрын
In my opinion....it's not a bad idea, a lot of people from Phoenix go there in July because it's not as hot. It can be in the low to high 90s in July. Plus there's a few lakes and streams up there people go to to cool off. If you go in July......you'll be fine

Awesome! They really take your video to the next level! Nothing beats that buttery smooth footage....truth be told I've never used a gimbal. I just try to really hold the camera strategically to reduce shake and jerky movements... however I did bust out my old gimbal I got like 4 years ago...and I used it to shoot B roll for a video I'll be uploading about lake mead in the next few days....I'll keep an eye on your channel, eager to see what you got and how the footage looks 👍

can you suggest any spots up there to view fall colors, only trail in mind is See Canyon but there has to be better. going this weekend

Honestly if you wanna see some amazing fall colors, I'd go to Oak Creek Canyon or Aspen corner in Flagstaff.....it's unbelievable!!! But I've never found a place that had an Abundance of fall colors in Payson. Horton Creek and the start of the trail at Waterwheel falls would probably be your best bet

FYI don't bring your pets to Water Wheel, born and raised here and the stream is beautiful but there has been many times throughout the 3 decades I've been alive that I've been alerted about mold that can be deadly for dogs that often times shows up in those river streams. Don't not go there please cause it's beautiful and still worth the trip, but for the love of our more furry family members, please don't bring them ❤
@LV2XPLR8 ай бұрын
The main issue for dogs is the first creek crossing. If the low is low there are lots of rocks to hop. If it's high you can go up the rocks away from the falls and safely cross the smaller creek there. Otherwise it's pretty safe for dogs and they seem to love the pools of water & rocks.

You need to post all the free campsites cuz everybody's broke the economy's in the toilet no one has a dime to spare

There is dispersed camping allowed throughout the area surrounding Payson. We were up checking out caves in the area. Up off Houston Mesa, just past Wagon Wheel is a good area with good roads. We spent one night up near the lookout tower. Lil tip, Scout cave is in that area, worth the short hike. Also a good area for hunting crystals!
