Since Ineos required a 27.7% stake in the club they've brought in Omar Berrada as our new CEO Dan Ashworth as our new Sporting Director Jason Wilcox as our new Technical Director Christopher Vivell as our new Head of Global Recruitment. They've also revamped Ten Hag's coaching staff while signing 5 very good players in key positions for good fees aswell as the likes of Kone, Obi Martin among others for our youth. They've also got rid many players for decent fees which for many players we have a significant sell on clauses included aswell as a buy back option. Far as I'm concerned it's been a very successful window & cos of that there can no longer be an excuses Ten Hag has to deliver on the pitch. He's got the public backing from Berrada & Ashworth but it results & performances don't improve after the International break the months leading up to Christmas then Ten Hag's position will no doubt be reviewed & rightly so. All in all Ineos have done remarkably well so far

I would mostly agree on your ratings but part of the issue for Ineos was caused by the inept failings of their predecessors in over paying on transfers and wages and moving players on quickly therefore becomes difficult. Their hands were tied to a degree by PSR. Onward !

Fans need to curb enthusiasm. Barring possibly De Ligt, none of the signings are proven. We've bought some decent players but nothing to light up the league. Seems it's another 2-3 year project. Anyone rating Sancho loan needs to think about Antony still being on bench for us. The best thing we got right is the structure. Hopefully that pays dividend in the long run.

Probably the first person who has commented on it being a 3 window transition and I agree 100%. The volume of people loosing their minds over 3 games is mind blowing. No one has taken into consideration the time is takes for teams to gel and understand each others movements. We’ve had an European championship and a summer tour which had yoro in for 10 minutes ans very few others that will be starting players and they are already calling for eth to go. The most shocking thing that struck me looking at that ins & outs sheet at the start…. How the feck did we manage to spend 40mil on Van De Beek and then sell him on for 400k. That’s 100x loss a player who isn’t actually even old yet. We really have been a graveyard for players since Fergie left 😮

7.5 Not dealt with LB, Not bolstered the Midfield sufficiently, second choice signings (decent or not - not our original targets) I would of kept Kambwala for Maguire. McT sale & Sancho removed was pucker. Really good start.

Kambwala refused a new deal so they made the smart move of selling him with a buy back clause, agree about left back though, bit worrying and no back up for Ugarte who is unproven but I guess only so much they can do in one window

Very good first summer transfer window by INEOS .9/10 With Soppy balls Sancho going .giddy up ! Jan window need 2 more midfielders as probably Casemiro & Eriksson will move on soon. Need a winger to replace Sancho as Antony is struggling to get a place in the first team . LB as Shaw is so injury prone .. Great podcast !

I think you were too kind on the outgoings, Sam. Yes INEOS did the best they could in the conditions they found themselves in. It’s great that we got rid of so many players that were not needed, but for all transfers, even McTominay and Greenwood we got less than market value in every case. I would give it overall a 6. Incomings: it’s early so this could change, but from what we know INEOS have made smart signings. Like you said about Casemiro and Eriksen, if we could have got rid of them and replaced them with some depth in the Mainoo position… that would have been the cherry on the cake. 8 out of 10 overall for me. Total rating in the window would be 7/10. Strong start, but need more like this and improvements in the values for players getting sold.

My overall verdict is 7 for the business done. INEOS have started to get rid of players plus not paid top dollar for new players. The process needs 2 more summer widows to hopefully produce a squad of at least 2 top players for every position. “ Rome was not built in a day. ! “ We are still short of a left full back, a top midfield player and a genuine fox in the box goalscorer. There are players we need to sell but because of ridiculous contracts and wages this has been hampered.

Buy side: 8+8+9+9+7=41 41/5=8.2 (Sam thinks it is 7.5) Sale side: 100/12=8.33 (Sam makes it 8.5) Sum average 141/17=8.3 Which score closer to 8.5 than 8.0 (Sam think 0.03 is deciding factor between half a score) That is how simpletons give their own ratings and then take the average and don't even know how to calculate such. Why is getting Ugarte a worry, 1. We wanted to sell Mctommany First to raise money. 2. We needed a right price for Scott and most of the players 3. Lastly we may put players on the market but it depends on the buyers wanting the product and most of our player ain't good product.

With a full seasons prep for the next window I think the sky is only going to look brighter. The integration of all these players into the team to is going to take time but I expect no doubt once we get our strongest lineup consistently on the park we’ll see the beginnings of a good side. 7/10 so far for me the defense has been remodelled but the rest of the squad is still incomplete.

I think you are becoming a little too harsh, we must know that the sales of Mjebri, Fernandez etc would not cost more upfront, so it was wise to keep a buy back option there. But, Ugarte is a good signing, save this tweet because he is very good and the type of midfielder we need. He will suit any coach and coaching style. Problem with Casemiro is he needs someone like Modric and Kroos as a cushion, he would not get that with someone like Fernandes and Mainoo who both like attacking. Casemiro time and again did well in his first season because Manchester United attacked as a Unit. That togetherness is disrupted somehow and Ten Hag is not trying that anymore. There is an urgency in passing and they never look like reaching the players and its just a panic ball forward is what will be sorted by Ugarte. He is sensible, we need that sensibility in the mid field.

I seen great positives from the Fulham and Brighton games. Fair enough Liverpool was a bad game and I think he shpuld have gone with 3 CB's as Dalot was playing to high and Rashford and Garny were playing to deep at times and only Bruno pressing.
