A great mentor of mine said "Should=sh*t. Don't should on yourself, don't should on others and don't let others should on you". Yours are the best videos I have found so far in my search for info on slow living. Thank you for your content :)

Helena 💚 There is so much in life we can be grateful for, but we forget about it so easy. So your tip with the timer is great!

oh great!! Glad you enjoyed it, Alina! :) I forgot to add the "gratitude walk" as another option as well. Gratitude walks help me stay present and appreciative with what I have in the moment

Living with less is the best gift we can give to ourselves !!! And then give those things to someone that needs them, is the most rewarding feeling to our ❤ and soul ! Hugs from a Colombian in Miami.

Gratitude journal, every evening. Try to do it during the day too. Probably gonna change my journal (not only for gratitude) too write more about it. Sometimes, I'm soooooooooooo grateful for the rain! It's maybe strange for people, but it's just me feeling gratitude about that. x)

Hi Helena, one of my habits for wellbeing is my daily contact with Nature. Even when the weather's really bad I'll go out five minutes and touch plants and feel their vibrations. It gives me balance and joy. Also, I never do things just cos society or people around me do them or think everyone should, I only follow my heart and my insight. I cultivate gratitude and empathy for all living beings, and all I want to achieve in my life is to be myself always, no matter what. I wasn't born to live the life other people wanted for me but the life I want for myself, too bad if they don't appreciate. Ciao!

You can not make everybody happy.. so true.. finding joy and source of happiness from within is so much more reliable because then you can not blame anyone or anything else for being grumpy or sad, it's in your own hands to change what can be changed, even the littlest of things within yourself that can make you see the joy and allow to flip the switch from blaming the world to relying on self-sufficiency in being happy. It's an internal human value we all ( i hope) strive to achieve.. on the other hand, maybe some people are more comfortable blaming the world as they are too nervous to take a look inside..❤
@helenawoods
@helenawoods 4 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY! Oh I love that point you made - people are definitely more comfortable blaming the outside world rather than looking within. Everything is a mirror, pointing to us what needs to be healed and mended. How beautiful. Love your words

i love it!!! i really needed that!!! I love the random Pause idea. Please continue making video and in the future, please consider making a video about FOMO. I struggle with that so much when it comes to my shopping addiction and how my curiosity lights up when i hear someone rave about the product and I feel like I have to try it for myself. I waste so much time, energy, and money on "stuff" that I literally open, try, and then discard somewhere and then I search for the next new thrill to make me feel fulfilled. Please help us with us being wise, before we impulsively engage in FOMO whatever it was.

This is such a GREAT idea! I already have some ideas swirling around my head around FOMO, as I definitely used to struggle with EXACTLY what you're sharing about a few years ago when I was living in NYC! I've since let it all go and have felt such relief from letting it go. I'll make a video on this topic - stay tuned :)

Hello Helena. Very happy to listen to you and see you again. Your videos have become a real date for me. Yes, the quest for a simpler life in tune with myself has always been one of my dearest wishes. Unfortunately, things of life have always had a big impact on me and life has gotten too serious. My education is certainly there for something, however, I always had the conviction that I should succeed in my sentimental life rather than my professional life. My life has become a permanent struggle to preserve this inner part of me, this sensitivity, this relationship to the beauty of things, this poetry that still makes me love living. It’s as if everything in this society keeps me from breathing. You are right, I must find a way to let go, enjoy simple pleasures, enjoy small daily joys, find the art of laughing. As you said, we cannot be everything and we cannot make everybody happy. I believe, above all, that I must find peace with myself. I have to meditate on all your precious advice as if i listen to a friend. I'm sure you will agree with me, it starts with a cup of hot chocolate. For me, your videos "When You Don't Know What to Do", "How Life Feels Different After Confinement", "We Think We Have Time | Don't Wait for Life to Happen » Are my favorites. It's my register.
@helenawoods
@helenawoods 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Bruno! Your comments are truly my favorite! You really take the time to respond to my work, and I am so appreciative of your words. Oh....society really does keep us from breathing. That struck a chord. Life can be very hard, especially when we listen to the outside guidance of others, the media, news and society in general. By going inwards and reflecting our own wants and values - and what would TRULY bring us the most joy in this singular lifetime - then we can take the action steps to get there. But it always starts from going within and shielding out the noise. For me that looks like journaling what I deeply value most in my life, putting boundaries on media, and spending time alone in silence in nature.There the answers can really flow through. I have to remind myself of this in my day-to-day as well! It's a constant dance of learning, implementing and then relearning again. But that is where all the growth happens :) Hot chocolate - how delightful! I have a cup everyday and it brings me so much simple pleasures. So wonderful to hear you enjoy it as well.

Hi Tiffany, I don’t know if it will help, but have you watched The Minimal Mom on KZbin? She simplified her life as she had 4 children under 5 & was feeling overwhelmed. She discovered decluttering her home so she had less inventory to manage really helped her. Her videos are so good at making decluttering easier. Hope it helps ☺️ xx
