I'm retired military. I was serving in the Old Guard in the 1990s. There was a senior sergeant who was married. His wife talked him into retiring before he wanted to. After the retirement she divorced him & took half his retirement. Her betrayal, her deceit, her weaponizing divorce for financial gain, was the ultimate personal insult. An insult so evil, so devastating, so humiliating to drag a man/husband/provider through court that this senior sergeant did what I 100% can appreciate & relate to. He drove his truck to his betrayer's work. Walked inside, unalived her (problem solved - betrayal rectified - justice delivered) then as a man he walked back to his truck & ended himself like a warrior. The system that enabled a predator to exploit him & betray him for financial gain can now stand at a microphone & rail against domestic violence while ignoring the true evil of apathy & indifference that tolerates the oppression & exploitation of men who are providers. I salute this warrior & his intestinal fortitude to secure a reckoning that held evil accountable.

My thing is to create positive habits. Every other day I have to do heavy compound lifts. I also have to constantly monitor specific funds looking for a good dip. I’ll hit the dip, and wait for a pull back to liquidity. Sure beats working. Being completely out of debt, and having a pension that covers my bills allows me to live like this. Oh, creating positive habits in the gym can lead to positive addictions. And, being strong helps my golf game too. And, yes golf is my addiction.

Love this. I will say though, that in life, some of our problems cannot be "attacked" but instead we must run from them. For example - lust. We cannot attack it and learn to remove it altogether - in my opinion, it will always be there and thus we must run from it by distracting ourselves from temptation and doing other things like exercise or reading, etc.

Always attack the hills and just know/accept that there is always another freakin hill. Accept it, use it to make yourself stronger and to learn about yourself... Courage is not a constant condition. Each new challenge can make or break you and you/we, as men need to be able to courageously face the new challenge. It is so easy to quit, to step off the trail and admit defeat, and true men don't do that. True men do not quit in the drive to the objective. We may slow down, we may rest along the way for a minute, but we keep moving forward, we keep the objective in mind, we overcome all the obstacles that come up along the way. We learn from the pain of the journey. We learn from the challenges and we build ourselves into the men we are destined to be during the journey. And the answer is always so simple... dont quit; achieve, accomplish, succeed. RLTW.
