Currently, I'm taking inspiration from Daniel Craig's wardrobe in Layer Cake: 1. Taylored suit jacket nipped in at the waist, teamed with indigo Levi's and Chelsea boots (jod boots if you ride). 2. Dunhill leather jacket with grey t-shirt, indigo Levi's, and Chelsea boots. 3. Wrist watch is either a black dial Rolex datejust or an Omega aqua terra 😎😎😎

I love the tip about rugged fabric. I'm 41 years old with a somewhat rugged complexion. I find that rugged textures compliment my imperfect face very nicely. Smooth fabrics such as gabardines and fine worsteds only enhance my imperfections, so I avoid them at all costs.

As someone with a 7.6" wrist, I truly believe my 43 and 44mm watches aren't going anywhere
@Gent.Z
@Gent.Z 29 күн бұрын
If you have very large wrists, I understand why you might prefer a huge dial. However, many guys wearing these watches do not have proportional wrists. Something slim and elegant is my preference.
@ZephyroScope
@ZephyroScope 28 күн бұрын
@@Gent.Z I consider huge dials to be those 50mm invictas. Those won't look good on any guy's wrist no matter the wrist circumference (let Shaq be an exception)
@James_Tharp
@James_Tharp 24 күн бұрын
Doesn‘t matter how big the dial if it matches the wrist. My watch would look grossly disproportionate with others. I have a skinnier friend who‘s wrist would be dwarfed, but someone quite large(I‘m 6‘0“ and 210lbs) would look awful with a watch small on them
@ZephyroScope
@ZephyroScope 23 күн бұрын
@@James_Tharp Exactly bro, I lent a watch of mine to my friend with skinny wrists and the lugs were overflowing on him. A 43 on me (and maybe you because I am also 5'11½ 215lbs) looks like a 40mm on the average guy's wrist. It's proportions which matter not the absolute size.

As an alternative to a diver's watch, a military pilot or field watch also offers a rugged sophistication that enhances a man's style with a distinctly masculine edge.

Excellent rundown, mate. I’d like to add my guide on watches - make sure your mechanical watch of choice fits your wrist. A well-fitted watch is free from lug overhang. Diver watches can boast 40mm cases which might be too large for some wrists. Additionally make sure your watch sits just above your wrist bone. Cheers 🥂

On the same spectrum, being overly focused on appearance and materialistic is also feminine. Like many things attention to clothing needs balance to not be lazy or pedantic. I like this channel a lot but I think sometimes it teeters on the edge of promoting unnecessarily large wardrobes and the problem with that is that simplicity in appearance and purchases is also a masculine trait.

Pretty solid advice I guess, time and place for everything though, I definitely wouldnt wear boots over sneakers all the time though unless it's something involving physical labor or difficult terrain or a dress boot, other then that Id rather stick with a clean pair of all black breathable lifestyle sneakers like more so running shoes that have shock absorption, the difference is quite stark in everyday comfort and usability compared to when I was just wearing cowboy boots all the time, style ≠ practicality, and I like to be active and run and do exercise, sports, calisthenics so I like being in sneakers much more, but again you have to match the footwear with the outfit and occassion I guess, I wouldn't wear sneakers with a suit that's understandable.

I love dressing nice but two things for me. One, where I work, it’s literally pointless to dress nice as I can find myself on a job site or in the metal shop at any given moment and 2. It’s Florida and hot as hell most of the year. But on the weekends I dress nicer but no suits.
