I work on these for a living, so take my insight as you will. 1) The ride is what it is without cargo weight, any one tone commercial vehicle will be similar. They do make air ride seats if it bothers you. 2) Sprinter speakers do suck, can be inproved pretty cheap. I wont defend MBUX in the vans, but it is miles better than an audio20 setup in the 906 chassis, and it does have a learning curve. Side note is that MB passenger cars have a touchpad as well for MBUX control, which improves user experience greatly, the vans dont get the touchpad (no center console). 3) These vans love highway miles, so dont worry about mileage. 4) Dont skimp on oil and filter quality when servicing the van, and keep ultra low sulfer diesel in it when you can, they dont always take well to biodiesel. 5) Lastly, the overall comfort can be improved a lot. The RV upfits are very nice inside, take a look at some to get some ideas. Best of luck and I wish you many trouble free miles.

I have a 2022 sprinter rented for the last month. I’m getting 22 mpg in the city it’s incredible. Doesn’t like going fast tho, 50-60 everything is fine. If you want to go 70 or higher the mpg is horrible.

@@thebatlwgn No it’s a 6cylinder 170 2500. Like I said this one isn’t mine it’s a rental. Just keep it under 60. I got pictures of the trip computer.

We use these as ambulances in the UK….. give it time and you will be able to throw it around like a car!!! But totally agree that when empty the rear suspension is a bit too firm.

Anything above 60 mph your fuel mileage will drop like a rock. Slow down and you will save a boat load and it won't really take that much longer to get places.

Yes a 1 ton will ride rough empty. Needs 1k or so cargo and it will help. How fast were you going on the highway? Its a big barn pushing through the air. My diesel gained almost 2 mpg’s after 10k miles when it broke in.

Drove a Chevrolet express 3500 12 passenger from New Jersey to Indianapolis and turned around wasn’t that bad. Later that year drove from NJ to South Georgia through the hills and was happy for get 12-13 mpg. Next year did the NJ to GA again with a pickup and got 16-18. This year I’m thinking of doing it in an eco sedan and stay in a hotel instead of the vehicle.

The Boy hasn't driven real rigs in Real World Conditions....he's new to this Reality. I live in Wyoming, in the Oil Patch, with heavy duty 1 TON to 4 TON rigs, and my family are ranchers....1 Tons are the 'light trucks' on the ranches. City folks really don't understand about such rigs, because they're not really around them much, except watching them drive by on the roadways. Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY

Figured on the mileage and ride quality. -Fortunately the mileage shouldn’t get much worse when you add weight setting it up how you want. -as you stated, the ride should get better once you upfit it. I wouldn’t be too shy adding weight (example:wood flooring), I bet it’s going to take a significant amount of weight to improve the ride.
