I was stuck in a snow storm in my '11 911 Turbo S. Absolutely no problems. Started and ran fine. Traction was fantastic even with the P Zero tires.

Winter driving kinda sucks overall haha. Glad to see you can have some fun with this car in the winter. It seems like the best two winter supercars I can think of are the Ferrari FF and the Porsche 911 Turbo S (I've met an owner who daily drives his 911 in the winter. He has a set of winter tires ready to go!).

Left my Hyuandai i30/Elantra GT standing for a month in Finland while i went to enjoy some tropical heat in the far-east. After enduring -25 centigrade temperatures for most of that month and after i cleared out a foot of snow from it, the car started on the first try. Other than that, steel studded winter tyres take out most traction problems out of driving in the winter.

Love these video's. I went to my workshop withe the GTA for exactly the same problems with the squealing breaks. Comes with the car they sad. A bummer on one side but was glad it wasn't metal touching metal. Funnily it can also NOT do the squeal, but there is no pattern. Probably Italian charm.

Hi! :) The sound when you are turning is the rear differential that locks itself so the tires go at the same speed. (its a 45% locker i think). In dyr conditions it will not do that because there is a lot of grip, but when there is snow and ice it will ;)

i got exactly same problem with my 04 cooper s , in slippery roads or cold weather . when i accelerate hard the front wheels lock i guess and it doesnt rev , after 4 seconds it starts to accelerate..

So my theory with #3 is one of two things, a issue with the gears, the clutch or gears cold be cold so they don't move very well and you stall. Another theory is your engine loses too much heat, you rev it and the cold air could mess up the spark plugs or intakes.

The issue with the idle and revving too high and shutting off is called fuel cut off. It's in a lot of cars. It seems to be though that instead of just cutting the fuel off for a second to let the revs go down, it shuts it off til the engine stalls.

3. point happens to my VW golf GT aswell! It is a twincharger so if it is like -20 C (-4 F) it will have revs around 1100-1300 for the first 5-10 minutes and the first time I try to move i usually stall it =D So I just have to wait or try again (usually I just wait and get the snow and ice off the car

I find it hilarious when people talk about all season tires in the winter. A civic will spin the shit out of all season tires because they're summer tires. You need dedicated winter tires in the cold and on ice or snow. Anything less will spin on any type of surface and grip very little.

I think that the stalling problem in cold weather is a generalised issue in cars with automated manual gearboxes. My Alfa Romeo 147 Selespeed (I know is far of the power and characteristics of the Gallardo) has one of this transmissions and does the same.

Cars tend to lose power if they have high mileage. Mileage is more important than age. He said he got his with relatively low miles so he should be good.

I wouldn't drive my Lambo on ice or snow, only if absolutely necessary. It's just too much stress to think another motorist would slam into me. I would definitely put on winter snow tires instead of all season tires, winter tires make a big difference for stopping turning and accelerating. Or, I would spend an extra few grand on a used all wheel drive car such as an Audi or Subaru, there's plenty out there to chose from.
