5 Things I hate about my Range Rover Sport

What's not to love? It's a Range Rover!! True, but actually there are a few annoyances and here are 5!
This is a 2020 Range Rover Sport HSE and while it is an amazing vehicle off-road and on road, there are some areas of practicality, where it falls a bit short. When you're spending this much for a vehicle, you expect to compromise less and get better execution of features.
But let's be honest...I'm absolutely in love with this vehicle.

OK I don't have an issue with number 3. I had an Audi SQ5 before this RR and talk about slow electronics. Put an Audi in reverse and prepare to sit and wait for the camera to come up. But the Audi has the one thing that the RR doesn't have. A holder for your sunglasses! The rest of the issues you advised are ok with me and I truly love this vehicle. Its been awhile since I actually connected with a vehicle, probably the last time was with my Lexus ISF and that was many years ago but this one is pure joy. That’s where I was thinking of keeping mine. I’m looking into the RRS, however it’s hard for me cause I’m a BMW lover so these videos (and the comments) do help me a lot

You can switch auto parking sensors off in the settings switch so they won't activate unless you are reversing. Also your sensor is acting up, that shouldn't happen when its dirty

Can't relate. I just traded a problematic BMW X5 diesel for the i6turbo HSE RR Sport (2021) model and freaking love it. I also noticed the slight latency in the menu, etc but no big deal. I don't have any issues for the storage. Even for long trips, we usuall pack 2 bottles of water and couple of cans for soda/red bull and all fit. Just wish it had a sunglass holder like my truck. Love the i6 turbo engine. I just disable the "smart stop/go" hybrid function which really annoys and I wish LR had an option to turn this off permanently. And people do notice it. I was at my crossfit gym and someone walked in and said "who drives that Land Rover...it's looks baddass". And mine's only a HSE.

1:30 You hit the nail on the head, I had far worse problems with sensors, black screens the list goes on and on and a book load of errors from the software, turns out the CPU is not able to cope with the demand, I spent $160K on my RRS and after 10+ visits within 14 months with less then 7000miles, I got Land Rover to buy my RRS back. I had enough.

I have a 2020 sport as well. Agree on the screen being too slow - I mostly use carplay so my main complaint is the boot time. Storage actually seems good to me - I like the 2 glove boxes and hidden compartment. My other gripes are the turn signal stalk feels stiff and plasticky, the transmission can feel jerky at times, the suspension isn’t as smooth as it should be over bad roads, and that there’s no lip in the trunk to prevent stuff from rolling out.

Hey Richard! Thanks for your comment. You are right. I should rephrase that there’s no where to set things. I’ve experienced a bit of the jerky transmission too. Great point about the lip in the trunk. Which engine do you have in yours?

I’ve got the inline 6. Pretty impressed with the engine - smooth, no turbo lag, nice power and good fuel economy for the size of the car. What cars did you have prior? I had several Bmws - none were great as far as having places to put small items though they did have a little driver side cubby that was useful. I love my RRS more than previous cars yet it also drives more nuts with all its little electronic glitches and inconsistencies. Sometime Carplay starts instantly sometimes it takes several minutes of fooling with it, etc. Like a beautiful woman with an annoying personality quirk. Lol. I guess that’s British (and Italian) cars for you.

@@richardh3587 Well said! Complicated but we love them and they are still the most desirable. I had an X5 on loan for a few weeks- absolutely loved it...but the Range Rover has far more road presence and people really take notice when it pulls up. I also have the inline 6 and I love it! I met a guy with a 2018 supercharged V8. He says it doesn’t suffer from the glitches of the inline 6s. I don’t know about. Do you have the SE or HSE?

Maybe you should try and research a little yourself about the Range Rover Sport, it’s types and models AND FACELIFTS , BEFORE you glorify that unfounded “wining” (thank you for that perfect description btw) you might actually learn something 👍🏼

6 things I hate about your (sorry for also being so blunt) rather “simple” minded way of thinking 1 it isn’t a NEW MODEL Range Rover Sport, it’s a FACELIFT!!!! You i.... ! It’s a L494 FACELIFT. So that’s why it resembles the model 2013-2017 (L494), it’s supposed to do that! Oh no you didn’t know that , poor poor you ... some info for you : the previous model was the L320 (2005-2013) which had a facelift in 2010. So if you can do the math you’ll soon be driving an OLD model. 2 Did someone force you to buy this car? Or was it a gift? Cause if you did indeed BUY this car .. IT WAS YOUR DECISION. And I’m pretty sure that they let you “in” the car before you bought it. Or did you order it online, matching the colour of your new shoes? Oh no....it came in a box of cornflakes? right...? 3 One can’t store a big bottle in the car ? Why did you get the cooler in the middle? It can hold 4 bottles or cans! Oh I’m sorry how stupid of me! You of course store your cooling EYEMASKS there so you look better when another RRS is pulling up next to you? Is there enough storage for your flaky attitude? Probably not, you need a truck for that, Jesus! Btw, how much water do you need ?? Tip ! Buy a fire truck 🚒, room for your shallowness and plenty of water. And when you pull up next to another RRS you will have the bigger car and you can feel special again. No need to check lights there, you’ll have a blue one! And it will solve your LITTLE ”compensation” problem. 4 I hate people that jeopardise other peoples lives while they are occupied with OTHER things than driving. Keep your hands on the wheel your eyes on the road and guess what : no more trouble in searching for USB ports and other things whilst driving. Are you following my lead or am I too fast for you? Did an SVR just pull up next to you and made you feel inferior? Oh lost you there I see, distracted again by a USB port that is too deep in the cup holder ? Oh dear .... 5 As for the ambient lighting. You clearly need to look up the word “ambient” . If you want a pimped up disco, then buy Japanese you’ll have the ultimate light experience you clearly so desire for. People with a little bit of class find the ambient light a touch of luxury without looking like the next best fairground attraction. Maybe you are just not the kind of person Land Rover is designing for. Tacky is easy , classy seldom is, if you don’t get it, it clearly says more about you than it does about the car. 6 (an extra “I hate : just for you”) And finally what I really really hate are people that have to define themselves over a car, how shallow can one be? You just answered that question, watch the video. Have you got nothing else to show for than “hey look at me I own a RRS” guess what, so,do I. OH NO! another one with a RRS (it’s an SVR😝). Now you have to get rid of it! Try to stand out with things that matter, you sound like a spoiled 5 year old girl that got a new Barbie, ranting cause it hasn’t got the right pink tone. And last but not least my honest and heartfelt advice to you : Get a life, get a Japanese car and if you are lucky it will include a package of PERSONALITY... PS I LOVE MY RANGE ROVER SPORT and am REALY grateful that I’m fortunate enough to buy one.

That's interesting about the screens. I have had zero issues with mine over the last 60k kms. Yes its slow thats cause its a Land Rover product

He definitely off-roads, there’s this hill (THE BIG ONE) he has to drive over, on his way to get his face mask at his local beautician. (keeps them in the cooler) no room for water left though, don’t you just hate that !! Imagine that no room for water bottles AND face masks in a RRS 😜 ..oh dear.. I think I will inform TATA to renew the model ASAP.

RRS worst car I have ever owned! It is not reliable at all I have had it for 11 month it gave me so much hassles! Never ever again.
