Great troll review of a near perfect bike! I have the exact same bike as you. You should split those lanes, but I guess you're not from Cali. 1) undertail exhaust - I hate it, but wouldn't get rid of it... so you LOVE it!! 2) gets hot - the fan stops it from overheating... I've never had the light come on, and you never said whether your light comes on!! 3) Intake Ducts - Okay, I guess a legit and VERY minor concern. But just don't shot water into the ducts! 4) Passenger seat - Girls HATE it! They're so scared... and that's a GOOD THING! You gotta weed out the untrusting ladies. Only the most trusting are worthy of your time. So, if they ride on the Daytona, they're a keeper. 5) Storage - What? It's a supersport! what are you gonna store on a race bike! Hahaha... So basically, it's a perfect bike

Believe me, it took me a while to come up with 5 things I dislike about the bike haha. Its the most superior 600cc class sportbike made... hands down. Also, I did a coolant flush and changed to engine ice. Helped a significant amount. So the heating issue is null and void

Man this bike is perfect for me! I live in a moderately cold country and 75 degrees would be the warmest it would get over the summer for maybe a single day before it drops back down. General maintenance will stop water getting into the intake which will be fine. The under-tail exhaust would heat me up rather than overheat me and I'm 5ft 11" so I probably could take a pillion passenger! Yeet, perfect bike for me!

#1 Exhaust Heat: 100% agree this makes city riding uncomfortable even in jeans. #2 Engine Temp: I flushed my cooling system and replaced it with Engine Ice, and it's about one to two bars lower. #3 Intake Duct: 100% agree again, I'm super worried about water including riding in the rain. #4 Passenger Seat: Agree/Disagree, this bike isn't designed for a comfortable ride for a single rider let alone a passenger. I simply removed the rear pegs, and the seat and put on a cowel. #5 Storage: Agree/Disagree, again it's not designed for this. This bike was designed for a 160lb 6' tall rider on a race track. My biggest complaint... I'm 140'lbs 5'8 rider in the midwest of the USA. We often call the roads here 50 shades of gray... The suspension is way too stiff for anything but a track, but.... this brings up my point of things I disagree on. It simply isn't designed for the the street, passengers, storage, and bumpy country roads. All around, I love the bike, I love how it looks, I love how it sounds, I love the gear range, but it's a track bike if we're all honest about it. Street Triple is where we should be if we're looking for a street bike, but the looks just aren't the same.

I ride a 2015 R version and I will 100% agree with you on just about everything. the under-tail exhaust is no longer a thing. If its not clear enough this bike HATES traffic if your not moving your balls are roasting. Also as a short rider 5'5 i find when i ride with a passenger i have to push my butt back and get lower down in order to make it more comfortable but yet they still are laying even further at that point. If you are looking to buy a 600cc class bike this is the way to go gives a good fights against even 1000cc sport-bikes off the line. Amazing video keep up the great work man and stay safe.

Firstly, nice video. Secondly, I dont agree with all of your hates. The pillion does not have to lay forwards. They just sit up straight. Easy to double. The intake wont let water into your engine. You dont think Triumph would have been stupid enough to allow water to flow right into your engine if is pissed down rain do you? I love the under tail exhaust but yes I agree. Fuck it gets hot on your right leg! Yup, not storage is a punish however you said there was nothing under the pillion seat. Yes there is! A phillips head screwdriver and an allan key. Yep the same allan key that you need to use to remove the seat! Silly Triumph. Didn't think that one through to carefully. Besides that, I love my Daytona. @GoldyFox6757 жыл бұрын
That is definitely something to do. I just flush mine out every time I do a service on it. Hopefully that would sort it out. You may also want to check up on the fuel mapping and idle speed. if your idle is too high then it could be causing to heat up. With the water in the intake problem, take a rag and cover the intake up before you wash it. That will block MOST of the water. As far as the passenger seat issue, it's hopeless, take it off and put a colored rear seat cowl. lol

The water in the intake is a non issue my dude, Triumph engineers know what they are doing. Wash it, rev it, ride it in the rain..its all fine, and no you cant see the air filter from the intake duct on the outside. I ride with passengers often on my daytona, and it's perfectly fine..unless you are going down hill. You need to teach your passengers how to sit on the back, they shouldn't be resting their body weight on your back. One hand pushing on your lower back and one hand grabbing your shoulder, that way they are ready for acceleration and deceleration. If just cruising they should be sitting upright, not on you, with at least one hand on you at all times. Obviously it will take some consideration on your part to make the ride as smooth as possible and to not get gas happy when the passenger is not expecting it. Trust makes a big difference here. If the passenger trusts you they will be more relaxed and able to sit up straight without the fear of falling off, if they dont trust you they will hang off your back like you are wearing a backpack.
@Motoposh6 жыл бұрын
+eliassami5 I agree my dude. It's really not an issue but I do find water sits in my duct after a wash. I'm well aware how to ride a motorcycle with a passenger as well haha. Sportbikes are not designed for the passenger they are designed for the rider, therefore, generally speaking sportbikes like the Daytona aren't comfortable or realistic to ride with a passenger. Ask anyone who's been a passenger on a sportbike for more than 20 minutes
@Samibz6 жыл бұрын
Taking breaks every hour is a good idea when 2up on the Daytona. The girl that rides with me has no complaints about long rides (40min+), it's usually me that needs the break because of my bad back lol. Just depends on the passenger and how much they are enjoying the ride!

@DominicanOps7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I been on that site as well while doing my research. My only criticism (and maybe its not warranted since my time on the bike was limited to twenty minutes) is that the turning felt super sensitive at lower speeds. Not sure if that's normal or unique to the one I test rode, but it definitely felt weird. Other than that, I absolutely loved the bike. This is the first sportbike I ever ridden besides a 600RR so I chalk it up to that. Does the 08 Daytona come with a steering damper btw?
@DominicanOps7 жыл бұрын
When I first took off on it, I was going around the parking lot just to get a feel for it and I felt like the slightest touch or adjustment to the handlebars was going to make the bike tip over. Just felt so strange. I was constantly trying to balance it out. Again, it could be that I am so use to my Honda that I am ignorant to anything that doesn't ride like it but it definitely felt odd. However, with some speed it moved just fine but the bike definitely turns different from my 600RR. I love my Honda but let's be honest, it's kinda a dime a dozen and has zero personality.

Dude, few things.. sort your suspension out. The forks are not meant to be flush with the yoke unless running a 180/60 profile tyre.. secondly, your clip ons are bent it appears on the video. The over heating will be there with the stock hoses and fluid, replace and install new samco hoses won't heat up. The triple engine will get hot compare to the inline for due to the work it does. I've owned mine for 5 years and had no issues like this.

That is not true. It depends on the year model you have. 2009 to 2011 is about 5mm. 2012+ is flush. You can have it how ever you feel comfortable and how hard to you want the bike to turn into the corners. If this is a 2011 or 12 then flush is fine.

Sports bikes are not practical for carrying pillions/luggage. So don't complain about that. If you rode your bike one gear lower, you'd not have overheating: the 675 motor is amazingly flexible; it will pull without glitches from 4000rpm in any gear. My bike's fan never comes on, even in temperatures of 75F: sounds like your mixture is running lean. Or maybe you can't get high grade fuel: I use shell v power (based in the UK).

One of the first things that caught my eye was that Triumph triples can easily get 100K miles if cared for properly bAnd yet there are good low milers. I think that there are a lot of nice 5-20+ year old Triumph out there. I used to flog a built Norton Dominator back in the day, but Norton forgot how to make fast bikes with affordable speed. Hence, today my Daytona. A sweet package. Tuned a little. Definitely in the street drags division of street fighters. 11 flat quarters stock. Mine is almost stock. I want a high 10 time on paper. Ah, the title of your video should be your '2012 or older Triumph Daytona 675' :) The 2013+ have a regular exhaust, but I like the look of the undertail too. But, I learned about the heat of an undertail with my 2005 R1. Plus, the gauges are pretty much useless in sunlight. >< You don't ever need to use a hose on your bike, especially not near the intake. Even if you do use a hose (like if you happen to ride through mud), you could block that duct with a microfiber towel or something. Man, whatever state you're in...it's so flat and wide open! I'm in L.A., California so what you call 'traffic' is practically deserted by my standards, LOL. Yeah the storage is pretty bad on the Trumpet Daytona. I can get my wallet and phone under the pillion seat though. At some point I'll go for a solo cowl as I don't think I'll be taking passengers anytime soon. :D Good vid here Posh.

Hey man! You're probably right, that would be a more accurate title haha. I forgot about the gauges too... you're spot on with them being pretty useless when the sunlight hits them. Interesting but glad I went for an 02 Daytona 955i. No water scoop, engine not as stressed to limit to get power, styling etc. Just bought it. After much searching I decided as a returning older rider I want enough grunt to get out of anything quickly, even if cruising below 50% of redline. To each his own but going 675 seems like an unnecessary flex by Hinckley. The 02-04 955i’s are an overlooked clean, fast, light bike. Proud to have one. A smooth beast.

Been looking at a 2007 daytona with about 15,000 miles. Is it a good bike to buy?? Any problems I might run into since it kinda has a lot of miles already
@Motoposh7 жыл бұрын
+MM Kid That's literally exactly my bike haha. I have 14500 on mine. I haven't had one problem with it in the past year that I've had it. I've put 5000 on those miles on myself. They are honestly pretty solid machines. Engines and transmissions are great. The only known issue I've heard about is some of the stator and regulators go bad around 20k
@NicholasWilby7 жыл бұрын
My local dealer said Triumph did a recall on the regulator and changed mine out free of charge towards the beginning of this year (there was nothing wrong with mine, but they gave me a new one anyway). I have a 2010 model, and my temperature sits at 5 bars normally, but in standing traffic it goes up to 6, so 1 or 2 bar change, considering the bike has no airflow, is not really that bad. For me, I'd say the only really annoying issue I have with this bike is that there is no fuel gauge, other than that, this is an amazing piece of hardware in every other aspect, I love my Daytona! It sounds freaking awesome (I have a Carbon fibre Akrapovic tail), it has telepathic handling (eats corners for breakfast and then asks for seconds), it has a decent amount of torque throughout the rev range, and it's looks are painfully sexy, and to be fair to the bike/triumph about its "issues", it's a super-sport bike bred for the track, so most of the issues/complaints that street riders have with it are actually pointless arguments really. It's a track bike that got street legal... How goddamn lucky are we! ;-) Keep safe out there!
@Motoposh7 жыл бұрын
+Nicholas Wilby That's what I experience too, I've only had it hit that 7 bar mark a few times. And that doesn't stop me from loving the Daytona. Thanks for your comment Nick! Ride safe!

Had my 2008 Black and mustard gold SE. Prettiest bike I've seen. Loved it Unfortunately, 2 years later, got a tank slap at 80mph and that was the end of that. Don't rely on the stock damper. Always check the center fork Nut. I believe mine was loose and was partial cause of the tank slap. I had it tightened by Triumph before my accident, but dunno. Can't say for certain, considering I was scraped off the concrete and never saw the bike again. The 40mph cross wind gusts weren't helping either. Stay safe out there. Would buy this bike again, but my attention/money has gone to modding cars.

I own a stock grey 2006 675 daytona. Gotta tell ya, i have had no problems with exhaust heat whatsoever. I can relate when it comes to the heat from the radiator/fan when riding slow: Last summer on vacation with a friend in Slovenia: traffic jam, 38 degrees, leather suit, rucksack on and yes, the fan running. With cold wheather, the fan is useful in a way. Induct thing indeed is a flaw. Passenger seat on a supersport is never a sofa, but hey its a supersport. Storage is crap indeed. My complaints so far: -No fuel gage, just a warning light -slightly abrupt throttle in first and second gear when riding slow. Can you relate to my complaints?
@Motoposh7 жыл бұрын
+arne brouwer Hey arne I definitely can. An actual gas gauge would be a lot nicer than our current light. Nice to hear from a fellow Daytona rider! Ride safe

@@Motoposh on the other hand, i call it nitpicking. The biggest complaint is that bars are a bit low. That's my biggest complaint, but u can live with it no problem ;)

debating 07 675r or 06-07 cbr600rr, what do you think?

If both bikes were similarly priced I would go with the 675 all day long man. But you cant go wrong with a honda either

ive had both, cbr 600 was more confidence inspiring and easier to ride fast, more comfortable. the 675 was a lot more racier and hard on the wrists, a lot more leaning on top of the bike. the 675 has amazing toque from off the line and pulls more linear. ild choose 675 just because engine was unique and fun. both great bikes though.

+Green Lime the 675 is pretty stellar. It's a very reliable platform. I've had no problems with my 10 year old bike
@JJ_ExMachina6 жыл бұрын
The Triumph Dayton 675 is on the top of list for reliability... well at least for no known major failures issues, outside of a few blown engines... but that boils down to end user caused problems I am sure.

Is it really slow? Looks fast as fuk from the videos I seen but I'm sure it's nothing like my GSXR 1000 but still probably a lot faster than my Ninja 650

I have an 09 675 with a full exhaust and power commander. I race my buddy on his r6, its the year with the most power like 2010 i cant remember. Its weird the bikes are pretty even, it seems i really have to rev it out to keep up or win. The torque is simply great but its not enough to really make a huge difference. He wins more often at higher speeds but lower speeds I win more. Over all I can say the bike feels proper fast, yet it doesnt feel as fast as the r6. But it keeps up or wins. My 2 cents

I been wanting a 675 bur as a California guy here, now I'm worried about the heat in traffic. I have an sv650s and a gsxr1300, and they both get pretty hot in traffic. Sv less so, Daytona prob even worse? Ps tesla drivers are cancer here in CA
@Motoposh7 жыл бұрын
To an extent its worse I guess. My buddy has a SV and it stays fairly cool in comparison. But I will say, out of all the supersports you could get the Daytona will probably stay the coolest in traffic. Switching to engine ice really helped for me as well

Wow this is ridiculous. Sports bikes like the Daytona are designed for one person and no luggage. It wasn’t designed to sit in traffic either. It’s a race bike. All your dislikes are no brainers. This is why smart fellers buy multiple bikes. Get a sports touring for passengers, luggage, and traffic. 08 Triumph Sprint 1050 and 08 Daytona 675. Now we have no issues.
@MrSpinkser7 ай бұрын
Well, it’s a sports bike. Whilst you can ride it on the road legally, but it really belongs on a track.

1 - UNDERTAIL EXHAUST TOO HOT IN SUMMER ??? bullcrap, such an awesome look, just upgrade you exhaust and it wont get as hot. 2 - 1 FAN, GETS HOT IN SUMMER/TRAFFIC????, this bike was born for the track made to the open roads, not to be riding around traffic. 3 - WATER GETTING INTO AIR FILTER DUCT WHEN WASHING ??? just be careful about it, but that MotoGP air intake is just AWESOME! 4 - PASSENGER SEAT TOO MUCH SPACE BECAUSE MIDGET RIDING??? who cares, by law you've got to have a passenger seat, but this is not a bike to take passengers around. buy a different bike next time. 5 - NO STORAGE SPACE??? not big deal at ALL.
