You bought a farm bike mate. Take that thing up mountains across creeks and in the desert. That thing is the Toyota Landcruiser of bikes.

How to get flamed...use the words hate and TW200 in the title of your video. haha I get what you're saying...it would be nice if it was this or that...but then it wouldn't be a TW200. I have tons of trails nearby so my first bike was a 2015 TW back 8 years ago. Went to a DR650, 3 cruisers, a bigger ADV and a Goldwing....and now I have another TW. A '99 this time. I like having the kickstart if it's needed, and the drum brakes work fine (for what the TW is...). I like to explore, and a bigger dual sport or ADV bike are not the answer for that sort of riding. With those bikes I'd often turn around because I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a bigger heavier bike turned around on some of the little deer trails I end up on, and when you're working hard and it's hot, picking up a heavier, taller bike gets old real fast. It's a great first bike, and since I'm in my mid-50's, I agree that it's a great last bike also. There's nothing better than a TW for just taking it easy and plunking around in the woods.

I dislike it when folks buy the wrong bike then blame the bike for their mistake. Overall, that bike is excellent for what it was designed for. A simple rear sprocket change would make a huge difference as others have pointed out. My advice would be to sell the bike to someone who would appreciate it.

You bought the wrong bike. The TW is a great bike for what they are made for, but you are not using it for that. You should buy a street bike, or if you want to explore trails a ways away from home, buy a DR 650, but don't blame the TW because YOU chose a bike that did not fit your needs. It's like complaining about a football game because you wanted to see baseball instead.

I said very clearly in the video exactly what you are saying

The TW is great for trails, what do you mean?

Stock gearing: front sprocket 14 tooth, rear sprocket 50 tooth. I switched to 15 front/45 rear and it’s a huge improvement. I can cruise at 55mph easily and I weigh over 300lb.

I would love one but no way I'm paying 6k for one and used ones go around 4,500 bye me. I bought a 1200 Sportster that I am turning into a Dirtster at half the price.

Noting is wrong with the bike, you got your self the wrong type of bike...

Personally the only issue I have with the TW is Yamaha's obstinence to not offer colour options. IMO the default option should always be the brand's colour and then a grey option (for boring people 😁). Why do I have to settle for a 2014 or 2006 to get my TW in Yamaha blue? To be fair Honda is also guilty of this I bought a CB650 last year and I had to hunt for a 2018 because it was the last year you could get them in Honda red.
@navscycles3 ай бұрын
Yah thats another thing. The grey is boring and then the 90s colors bring a premium with the white and pink and green

You can get vinyl cheap. I did the tank in all black. Works great.

@@ericwilliams626 sure but I'd much rather buy the color I want with the logo and graphics from the factory

Quickfix. Start off in second unless you're climbing a tree towing a trailer o' 'taters. No disrespect intended. To me it sounds like your biggest problem with the 200 is that its not a 750. I know the feeling.
@navscycles2 ай бұрын
Yah second makes sense. I actually thought about it and mentioned it in the other video but didn’t try it yet. Unfortunately yes I wish it had more power but I get why it doesn’t

If you want a better street ride, change out the rear sprocket for a few teeth smaller. Won't change gear ratio, but it'll be more friendly for boot'n around the streets.
@navscycles2 ай бұрын
Yes I have heard that. I’m not going to try it out most likely, but again for potential buyers I think there’s better bikes for the price for more street oriented riding.
@frankydngr2 ай бұрын
@@navscycles Honestly, I'd hang on to it. Keep it for what its good for and get another enduro style bike that'll do highway speeds. Those little TW's are fantastic for what they are. I say this out of expeerience. I've had many, mamy dirt bikes. Trail bikes are just that...they're trail bikes. Perverbial mountain goats.
@navscycles2 ай бұрын
I definitely think it will shine on some trails. First trail bike I’ve really had. I mean I’ve owned a lot of bikes are you can see with my other videos but all were street bikes.

Gearing and mods aka farkle. T dubs do it all just a little slower. Go buy a v twin kid.

V twin wouldn’t be the answer. Just a larger displacement single would fix my issues with it being slow. But like I said I understand it for what it is
