I love your “once a week spoil.” I think that is great. Allows you to enjoy life while also maintaining the novelty of going to a restaurant or movie. My wife and I do the same with restaurants, both to save money and keeping it as a special activity.

I love the ideas from this video! Paying for things like plants can help us to learn to take care of our possessions but also to learn to not constantly buy more items. Plants are a great way to making us happier, more productive, increasing creativity and reducing our stress. In a way it’s like therapy for us to care for something or someone. One thing that makes me happy but it isn’t really minimalist is to spend money on clothes. I have body dysmorphia and sometimes buying nice items makes me feel happy but I try my best to stay within the line of minimalism so I don’t overbuy. But great video overall! Love it!

For me, being a minimalist is using everything you have. As of now, I have "stuff" that I've placed in boxes (I move around often: another reason to be a minimalist), and have not yet taken out. Eating out and buying "experience" like movies, guided vacations, and downloaded video games are separate from minimalism simply because they are consumed by its entirety.

Great video, Nicholas! You are right. Minimalism is not about living like a monk. It's about growing your special life in a way that works for you, reducing your footprint, sustaining our planet and feeling like you're helping the environment through less waste and abuse. Don't let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong. You only need your own validation. Love your calmness!

Being a minimalist should be about getting rid of what you don’t need and only keeping things that you do need or that bring you happiness, so if these are things that do that, than they are minimal for you

Great list buddy, and agree with the digital items, I still have a collection of cds and books but they’re re either because I can’t get them digitally, or having the physical version of it is something I can’t get rid of. The once a week spoil is great to as its items that you don’t need to find space for. Once you eat or watch it it’s gone! Great video budd!

Hey Nick! Just wanted to say thank you for all you’ve done in the past year. I remember starting watching your videos in the first half of 2021, and through the lesson you’ve taught me I’ve managed to save $6k (please don’t rob me anyone else). And it was this idea that just sparked a potential video idea I wanted to let you in on - and it would be ways to manage finance/money. I know you’ve talked about it in the past, but I think an update would be a great consideration.

I ve watched all your videos in two days in conclusion minimalism is a very hard way of life and many people they dont get it. You can be a minimalist even if you own plenty of things you just dont need the things that you dont use thats the point of it. At the end of the day you need what makes you happy even if you have 10 bottles of perfume if that makes you happy go for it. Cheers from Greece!

Great video as always ! What did you do with all your physical copies of games / movies in the end? Would be interested in a minimalist finance video, if you haven’t done one already :) … though I guess the premise would just be ‘don’t spend anything’ haha!

Thanks so much! I was able to sell just about everything on OfferUp, and I was able to pay for my entire PC doing this. I have a couple finance videos on the way so I’m glad at least one person would be interested in that 😄

It might be me but i think we have lost the importance of minimalism, its true its not about deprevation, some treat it like a religion. Minimalism helped me get a lot of perspective in my life but i have embraced simple living because that says exactly where i am now, minimalism just left me a littlle too deprived and thats just not how its meant to be, i suppose i couldn,t get around the wrong thinking i adopted. simple living speaks into every area of my life and how i wish to describe my life and me. must say your video,s are helping people to have a better idea of what minimalism is about and you don,t fall into the trap of this rules and must do it this way or else, thank you for sharing. xx

I don't see a problem in going to the movies or spending money on restaurants, minimalism is very much linked to unnecessary spending, and I don't see that in the examples cited.
