I looked around my apartment after watching this video and thought to myself, "I need to get rid of some stuff, I have a lot of stuff." 😅
@carmensegattini Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your honesty! It's quite common to have that realization after watching a video on minimalism. Recognizing the abundance of stuff we accumulate can be eye-opening. Take this opportunity to evaluate your belongings and let go of what no longer serves you. Remember, minimalism is a personal journey, and it's all about finding the right balance for you. Embrace the process of decluttering and be open to the positive changes it can bring. Wishing you clarity and a lighter, more intentional living space!

When you list it like that, it seems like a lot even though it is so little! I really want to get to that level of minimalism but it is very hard for me. I am a recovering hoarder and some habits are very hard to quit. Every single thing means so much to me.

You see how our wardrobe is a big part of our life. I also think it depends on how sentimental your items are and how many hobbies you have. Things can stack up over the years, but If you keep up a little bit you can see what is really important and what can you keep.
@carmensegattini Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Our wardrobes often become a reflection of our personal journeys, carrying pieces of our memories, passions, and stories. Sentimentality and hobbies indeed play a huge role in what we hold onto. Regular reflection and decluttering can be enlightening, helping us discern between cherished treasures and what we can let go. It's all about finding that perfect harmony in what we own and what resonates with our heart. Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful insight!

I find minimalism inspirational, even though I could never do it. I'm a hoarder by nature but I watch allot of decluttering and minimalism videos to help me down size my stuff. The main problem for me is that I am very creative. I knit, crochet, draw, paint, colour in and sew a little too. So I have items for all of these hobbies.
@carmensegattini Жыл бұрын
Creativity is such a gift, and it's okay to have tools that support your passion. Maybe it's about finding a mindful approach to storing and cherishing them. Remember, the goal isn't to have the least amount but to have just the right amount for you. Stay sparkly and inspired! ✨

Amazing video! I am adopting a minimal lifestyle too, and also I am trying to make money from my old possessions 😅. Your video inspired me to declutter even more! But I definetively I would not me able to live without my Rubik cubes! I am only 13, and my parents don't understand me yet. They are always like "Why are you getting rid of all of your possessions? They may be useful in the future!". I really hope they get to understand the magic of minimalism someday. Because, out of my bedroom, my house is a complete mess. P.S: Sorry if my english wasn't very good 😅

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! Congrats on adapting a minimalist philosophy in your life even at your young age. That’s amazing! I feel like generations are different, our parents maybe grew up having only little, so for them it’s the best thing to live a maximalist lifestyle. I personally grew up having lots of things that made me feel distracted so I was craving to live with less. All the best with your journey ahead, you are doing great 🫶
@UniverseBlackHole11 ай бұрын
I get you. I am not that young but still I am only 21. However my parents used to live in time of big inflation where the whole month pay if you mennaged to be on time you could buy only one pack of cigarettes, literally. They gone to the job while they been bombarded. The only reason why most people are still alive it's because they had their own things , their field and animals to have food. People that lived in apartment starved. So now when they have money , for years they have so much unnecessary stuff. Like we have around 14 closets and some stuff are in something similar to garage . And we have 4 rooms like that. It full of clothes and stuff that weren't touched for 15-20 years . And if I try to move them they are angry at me and they just don't wanna move them less to toss them. So I constantly get rid of my stuff so that I have space for my stuff. I am slowly becoming minimalist. But that is bc I live in a room with 3 closets, one is full of dead grampas clothes (he died when I was 5) , one is for grandmas and random stuff and the third one is where are all my clothes , accessories, cosmetics,games , everything is in one closet and we live in 2 floors house. Sometimes you just need to look at why are you in situation that you are in . Mine became hoarders bc they didn't have anything and I am trying to be minimalist bc I can't breathe because of unnecessary stuff.

You bring up a valid point! Living in shared apartments often means that certain items, such as household dishes and pots, are communal resources rather than personal possessions. That's why I didn't count them. As for my career transition, after being a hairdresser, I decided to pursue a new path in marketing in a digital consulting firm. Becoming a minimalist, essentialist or just simply decluttering is a good idea, however stay focused on why you want to declutter or become a minimalist. There are so many videos on these topics and sometimes it tends to lead to a competition of who can have the least. Do what is best for you as an individual and don’t feel like you have to get rid of everything and be just like them.

Great video. Inspiring. But I wonder what your thinking was behind only having 3 pairs each of knickers & socks, but 2 bikinis. Are you constantly washing & wearing underwear? Do you use the bikinis as spare undies? What do you sleep in when your one pair of pjs is in the wash? Clearly, I couldn’t do minimalism as I see too many problems, but I’d like to know the solutions you’ve found.
@carmensegattini Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful questions! I wash my underwear by hands every other day + I live in Switzerland in summer and in the south of France in Winter, so wearing bikinis is probably a bit more common to me than for someone else. There is rarely a week without a bikini day. As for sleep, I steal my boyfriends t-shirts! Minimalism is about finding solutions that work for you 🤭 And don’t worry, I was seeing this problems in the past as well. But once I started a more radical approach I realised, that reality is way easier than expected. Lots of love to you!
