Hey Zeltik, this is just something to think about, but if you look at all of the misconceptions for Breath of the Wild 2, they all work for Age of Calamity. Zelda will be playable, it could be darker than Majora's mask, and that Breath of the Wild 2 will be a prequel. Anyway, this was just a fun detail that I noticed about Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild 2. Love the videos!
@envytee96594 жыл бұрын
@@porterwayman8643 Those aren't misconceptions, except for maybe the last one. Zelda being playable is just something that everyone wants, not a misconception. I keep thinking about the "Dungeon Music SOS" theory (I think you covered it at one point), where the music in every Divine Beast eventually plays a Morse code SOS and how it may relate to the Champions being defeated. Maybe we'll get to see that play out, and if so, Revali's downfall is going to be the one I'm most interested in. I can see them making the sword weaken in each level. Getting more chipped and stained with malice on its blade (it's not rust) as you advance. Each guardian taking longer to destroy because you're getting weaker. I think the best way is have you face a hoard of guardians. You still "win" in that you managed keep Zelda from being shot dead and defeated the last wave - I have a feeling that'll be a criteria - but that's the end of link's campaign. So, after watching the video, I came up with a few very-not-so-short ideas on how to make botw's kind of underwhelming final boss(dark beast ganon, not calamity) better(in my opinion). TL;DR: Honestly, if I tried to do this, it would probably just turn out being a SS;SDR(Slightly Shorter, Still Didn't Read). So, this will serve rather as a warning. This comment is *_long._* As in "longer than the 'divine beasts attack ganon'" cutscene. 1. Make it Harder: In the base game, Ganon, although massive and intimidating, is kind of a slouch. Sure, his beam may do quite a bit of damage, but he's so slow that you're not likely to actually get hit by it. One part of this is his turning. He turns fairly quickly, but never when firing, so that by the time he is facing you and firing his laser, you're arealdy to the side of him. He also never moves, which is another issue. Make him run around, make him charge you like the massive rage pig he is. Make him try and crush you underfoot. In addition Zelda, clearly weakened from a literal century of holding back the apocalypse, would take longer to create weak points in Ganon's armor, and would only be able to create 1-2 at a time, rather than 3 for the first two rounds. These ideas tie into my next point, which would allow the game to take full advantage of Ganon's now-advanced mobility. 2. An Open Fight for an Open World: With Ganon moving around a lot more than before, the walled-in area of Hyrule Field would begin to feel rather small. To alleviate this, I propose removing Zelda's magic boundaries from the area, and allowing the fight to be contained solely by Hyrule's natural barriers(Mountains, Lakes, Etc.), or, at least expand the pre-existing barriers to include the majority of the Central Hyrule region. Although the fight would likely never make it's way to any of the main settlements of the game, the same would likely not apply to some of the smaller npc groups of the region. For instance, as Ganon approaches a stable, the former residents of said stable could be seen escaping on their horses before thier former home is reduced to ash. This truly-open fight would also open up some new opportunities, which will be detailed in the next point. 3. A Kingdom (Somewhat) Reunited: After hearing of Link's heroism from thier race's "representative"(Riju, Teeba, Sidon, etc.), each group would journey to the spot where thier "territory" meets Central Hyrule to provide support to the hero, whether it be out of respect, or a feeling of debt. For instance, getting too close to the Eldin reigon may lead to seeing a firing squad of Goron cannons open up on Ganon from some elevated area, with Boss and Yunobo manning the lead cannon personally. The Sheikah however, would take a indirect approach, providing Link with various healing items to keep him in the fight. The attacks from the other races would deal next-to-no damage, but would make the fight feel more active and "alive," take the heat off you for a little bit, and decrease the time it takes for Zelda to create her weak points, as Ganon's attention would be fully occupied on wiping out the new opposition. Speaking of that, if you linger too long, Ganon will force the friendly forces to retreat from the fight, allowing Ganon to re-focus his attention back on you, and on keeping Zelda from comprising his armor. However, there would be one more factor to add to the fight... 4. Divine Support: The reason for me making this post in the first place, playable divine beasts being mentioned in the video made me think, "What if the beasts actually did stuff in the dbg fight?," and this unholy concept was born. Anyway, the Divine Beasts would also take a more active role in the battle, occasionally firing on Ganon with a weaker, but faster recharging beam. The Champions would essentially be in "fire at will" mode at this point, so they would no longer fire at once. Each individual beam woild do anywhere from 1/20 to 1/35 of his health, and a beam would strike Ganon about every minute and a half, but would also stun him for 10-15 seconds, allowing you to get in range to take a shot, or to allow Zelda to create a weak point. All in all, if you actually took the time to read this absolute monster of a comment in it's entirety, Thank You. Any (constructive) criticism is welcomed, and if you have any ideas of your own, feel free to share them.
@raphyangel98284 жыл бұрын
Those are some good ideas, & it would've been nice to have that as a final battle instead, because it would make it feel more like an actual final battle...but since that wasn't implemented, maybe the team is saving that kind of battle for when we'll fight the actual Ganon, in BotW2...At least I *hope* they'll think of this elaborate of a final battle plan.
@Xyler944 жыл бұрын
I think the whole reason behind the lackluster fight was because, Dark Beast Ganon is literally a desperation moment. You defeated Ganon in the chambers, but he wasn't quite defeated. In a desperate moment, it thinks to unleash it's hatred and become gigantic, giving up everything to just show how strong he is. Anyone else may have been scared. "How do I take on such a beast?". Unfortunately, Link's unbreakable courage, and Zelda's sacred powers, are no match for such a desperate attempt to create fear itself. So while it's underwhelming, it's only because of our unbreaking courage, and our will to defeat this evil, at whatever cost. Could it have been more cinematic or climactic? Yeah. But I believe they didn't want the final fight to be something to always look forward to. Instead, spend as much time in the Wilds as possible, and enjoy the wilds. Amnesia the Dark Descent is not a "hard" game by any stretch, and if you focus just on beating it, you're not playing it as intended by the devs. They literally put a disclaimer saying "Don't play this game to beat it. Play it to experience the game". I think that's what Nintendo wanted here, was for us to experience the Wilds and exploration, rather than simply fighting and taking on the final boss...

@@Xyler94 this is along the lines of a comment I made on another video. Dark Beast Ganon is Calamity Ganon's last gasp, and Link/the players know this, but *no one else does*. DB Ganon is *massive*, easily at least the size of the castle and thus, like the castle, able to be seen for miles. From an outside perspective, such as almost any NPC, (all but maybe a dozen people, half of which are *ghosts*) only know that the divine beasts were causing trouble, then they stopped, them 'randomly' fired lasers towards the castle, and a few minutes later the thing that nearly destroyed Hyrule 100 years ago is stomping around setting the earth on fire. They don't know he's already on his last legs and desperate, they think it's the actual end of the goddamn world with no miracle to save them again....until suddenly a miniature sun comes out of nowhere and straight up deletes him and every other bit of malice in the land.

For what it's worth, some Warriors games DO have hubs you can run around in. Maybe it would be more related to the Free Mode or any other kind of special mode they'd have, but maybe we could still get to run around at least a segment of Castle Town or something! (While not in combat, at least).

Initially I was struggling to picture a large roster of playable characters, and how the ending would be handled, but diving back into Definitive edition I remembered there are missions where you play as Ganon or other villains, and actually fight the heroes. So I'm going to assume that's how the tail end of the story mode will play out. Outside of Ganon, they'd likely be original characters, but he must have had trusted allies of some sort so it works.

Warriors games don't have a hub world it's just menus
@MJTRadio4 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's too much to hope for, but if they're going to the trouble of modeling some of the towns and villages anyway, maybe they could have some limited exploration of them as a way of adding more flavor to the menus. Like, instead of just upgrading stats or training party members from a menu like in the original Hyrule Warriors, there would be shops and dojos in the towns you could walk to between campaign stages. That'd be a cool way to appreciate Castle Town and stuff like it in a way that wouldn't need to mess with gameplay too much or force the creation of a ton of new assets.

While non combat exploration isn't normally in Warriors games, Persona 5 Scramble does have between battle overworld exploration. The Persona 5 devs specifically asked to incorporate more aspects of Persona 5 into the game and KT worked with them to make that happe. With this entry being a closer collaboration between the Zelda team and KT, I can see that happening since they even said they wanted to break the mold like BotW did. Another thing is that the reason the reason HW followed the Warriors formula so much was that Miyamoto specifically requested it. KT actually wanted the game to be more like Zelda. Since this game is a direct prequel to BotW and KT proved themselves with HW, it would make sense if they were to fulfill that original idea and make a more fusion like game for this entry.

The way this game would be perfect is if they made it a travel story. Where you arrive at locations before the enemies make there's way to towns and spots that are now in ruins. Upon our arrival as the player, it would be sick if they gave us time to exisit peacefully in these areas and sort of camp out for a bit meanwhile locals prepare and hide and solder's ready up. This would let us explore a bit of lore and appreciate pre ruin areas and load up on Easter eggs from past fan service and the botw as well as hints about botw2, and then once we begin the ambush then it's game time and the story moves forward.

If you follow their routes after splitting up on the day of the calamity, Daruk actually passes right by the citadel on his way to Vah Rudania. When you also include the guardian in the background of his Hinox fight, I’m inclined to believe that gameplay is from the last stand.
@Gaamaru4 жыл бұрын
In other Koei Tecmo games like Attack on Titan you can walk through a part of the city besides the main gameplay. You could say that its like a hideout where you prepare for the battles. Upgrade your weapons, spend your money etc. I would like that to be the case with a part of Hyrule Castle or the town. Running around with Link and the others in the town would be so awesome ^^

Love this! One location I've always been drawn to...the collapsed tunnel that leads up/into The Great Plateau. Was this tunnel collapsed/filled/flooded to protect The Temple of Time!? Was it collapsed by the 2 Sheikah as/after they placed Link in the Tomb of Resurrection to protect him!? Imagine playing as the two Sheikah that took Link to the Shrine of Resurrection: You place him in the Shrine…then fight off Guardians that have already made it to the Plateau. You make your way down to the gate/tunnel and realize you are outnumbered/overrun….so you self-sacrifice and blow up the tunnel leading up/into the Plateau!!!

Your first wish is actually very similar to a hope I have for BotW2. I'd love to see some base-building elements. It was sort of explored in BotW, with the sidequest to build an entirely new town, but I'd love to see that expanded, where you can build sanctuaries for Hyrule residents all over the map and customize what buildings look like, where they are placed, and what their functions are.

I actually think it's very possible to have an explorable hubworld in Age of Calamity rather than the menus of Hyrule Warriors as this is something that was featured both in Dragon Quest Heroes and Persona 5 Scrambled, two Musou games made in between this game and the original Hyrule Warriors. The team has expressed a desire to design a more Zelda like game so it's possible that an extension of that would be to implement an explorable hubworld. I for one would really like to see that for Castle Town or maybe the castle itself (up until the calamity hit).

What I would want? 5. A good story (it's low on my list since I'm confident they'll do it justice what with the Zelda team being there.) 4. More playable characters beyond Link, Zelda, and the Champions (like Impa and maybe guest characters) 3. Dual Audio 2. Bonus Content / Post-Game content beyond Free Play etc. 1. For the love of god, let Materials be automatically picked up like in Fire Emblem Warriors. All that aside, I agree with your list! I personally don't care much for playable Divine Beasts, but I ain't gonna say no if it happens. As for playable characters, Impa is a safe bet and I'd love to see even original characters; some people in the comments brought up some good points. A playable Yiga leader? Other Sheikah? Maybe Linkle who might just be Link's actual sister in this game? I'm not saying the roster needs to be huge, but a good handful more and a villain or two would be cool since we had playable villains in the last HW game. Oh well. Keep up the good work! These videos will help make October and November pass by faster, haha!

As neat as playable divine beasts would be, I think they would operate similarly to how the Great Fairy did in HW. Something like; Objective- Get Mipha to Divine Beast Vah Ruta. And when you do she commands it in a cutscene to wipe out large swaths of enemies. I think I'm mostly interested in who the enemy generals will be. We had Volga and Wizro in HW, who will it be in AoC? Maybe we'll get Yiga generals this time.

You know, when you look at how the Persona 5 warriors game is structured, it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility that there will be non battle sections where it’s more akin to regular BoTW gameplay. In that way we could be able to explore Castle Town and Hyrule Castle in a BoTW style. I’m not saying it’s 100% likely, but I think KT has been a lot more creative with these existing series warriors games so it wouldn’t be bad to hope for something like that.

About the fortune teller thing, the fact that Hyrule dug up some guardians wasn't the deciding factor in Ganon controlling them. Most of them poured out of the pillars that Ganon rose from underground. That most likely would have happened regardless of Hyrule knowing about them and Ganon's return.

In my own personal opinion, I'd have to disagree with the theory that the fortuneteller was a saboteur. It makes a lot of sense, and it's a pretty interesting twist, but with the context that the Sheikah technology proved successful in defeating Calamity Ganon in the distant past, it brings into consideration the idea that the Calamity's time to fester for 10,000 years made it strong enough to corrupt the ancient machines, rather than the corruption the second time around being the plan all along.

I think my number one want is for the final encounter to be Zelda vs Calamity Ganon. We know Link falls at Fort Hateno, and that seems a likely final battle, but being able to see what Zelda does to keep Calamity Ganon contained to Hyrule Castle after that would be really cool. Especially if, as the trailer hints, we get to play as her prior. Playing a powered-up Zelda who has tapped into her sealing magic would be a fun finale to the game.
