5 Things I Wish I Had Known Before Leveling in Diablo 4 2.0 & Hydra Build(Vessel of Hatred Season 6)

I finally got to test the leveling for Diablo 4 2.0. The PTR was this week. In this video, we're going to be covering some of the things I wish I would have known about leveling before jumping into Diablo 4 2.0's leveling changes. The changes they have made are intense and awesome and questionable at some points, but overall, I think it is a huge win and I can't wait to share some of the tips that will help you level in next season and enjoy the game just so much more.

This should get you started. I'm testing a couple of other builds but I'll have an update on this one tomorrow with affixes and hopefully paragon. You can use either of the fire key passive instead. The burn one is great if your boss take down is slow. Replacing tal rasha's ring with a ring imprinted with inner calm aspect works well. Helmet I'll have to think about. Hope that helps 🙂

Boss mats are in our inventory for trade community. It makes it easy for people to sell the boss summon materials if they need the gold and for people to quickly get them if they're trying to do multiple runs without needing to farm them.

I didn't think of that during, which is weird because I do trade mats all the time. But they still could add a mat trade slot similar to how gold is setup.

Sounds like most of the changes are going to be great. I think I like the new paragon board. Right now there's so much pressure to optimize placing every point and the path or else you're going to suffer. I love the idea of a much more relaxed board, not needing to worry if you'll have enough points to get the key abilities for your build.

I'm still testing but at this point I like it a lot. The paragon board is a massive improvement, you easily have enough points to start to get every legendary node and glyph slot on your chosen board and you keep getting more point to go for like to have nodes. I have always seen it as a quick way to debug a build anytime you want and now it's even better.

I got a lot of glyphs in Helltides, in torment 1, which I found interesting, as I thought the pits would be the place to find glyphs. Also, I am also rocking a conjuration build with hydra, familiar, and inferno with a lot of cooldown reduction.

It is so much fun! I usually feel like it starts to struggle early but it still feels amazing in the late game so far. I'll know for sure tomorrow when they open up more of the PTR.

I think that Tal Rasha’s was a lucky drop but that’s what makes your leveling story unique. Nice Hydra build.

It's a fun build. The unique was a lucky drop but I don't think that was the main reason for the smooth leveling. I've run without it, testing different things, and there was only a slight drop.

Coming from PoE, I really wanted to like D4, but I was really bored after about 5 hours and getting to level 15 of 20, and then switched to another class and had fun at first but quickly got bored too. All in all I spent about a weekend trying various classes and leveling them up a bit before getting bored... Compare that to PoE where I've played literally thousands of hours most of which were fun (though eventually I got bored of PoE too, which is why I wanted to try D4).

More of the fun is where the builds start to come online. The leveling is pretty vanilla. It has a very different feel from POE, I don't even feel like they should be the same genre. I'm attracted to each for very different reasons.

i wish the min-maxxers would understand the points you made in this video. I agree with almost everything, and the only thing I really don't is that I do still kind of like the role of nightmare dungeons, however I think what's happening in 2.0 is a major upgrade nonetheless. I love how rare items will be rare & feel special when they drop, all the different changes made to pit/nmds, all the expansion specific stuff like runewords but also all the stash space fixes, etc. Feels like every problem with season 0 is now resolved, dunno why min-maxxers wanna be able to max out their char in 6 hours, i prefer the 100-120 hour+ journeys like diablo 2 and similar games.

I have found that getting decent gear has been impossible. Items are like one or two points above my legacy items.

Tal Rasha is broken. As you cast spells that aren't different it resets the bonus. Multiple fire skill/lightning skill/ice skill builds can't use it properly. Additionally if you spam any skill it breaks the tal rasha buff because you aren't cycling skill element.

Thank you that's good to know. I've been doing dummy testing and it still does more damage when I use it vs not, but it does feel very inconsistent in actual play.

It's not a solid bossing build its a leveling and speed farming build. I would check out the tier list on maxroll.gg and look for sorc builds that are best at endgame and bossing. There is a tab somewhere at the bottom that lets you switch between versions. I the one in the video is an early build that got me to t2 but struggled in t3 so i created a second version. Just make sure you are on the first version to get the one in the video. Hopefully that helps.

S5 was fun and amazing i dont think im gonna like these new changes... Like can we even Power lvl people anymore and gwt rushed to End game cause if not then making alts is gonna be absoultly pointless cause im not about to run this same stuff multiple times and not be able to have a friend just power lvl my alts or me power lvl them. I really need to play this because it seems like bad changes... PTRs need to be put on consoles too. So everyone can experience they new changes and give feed back.

I USE HYDRA SORC AS WELL using stafff max heads i got so far is +10 heads u gotta hit hydra twice in masterworking

Next thing should be iconic d2 sets that could get you to next teir but tords end of the teir parts should not be so strong where it would make since to replace parts to make it farther like d2 sigon or the class sets like immortal kings to barb griz for pallidin and tals for sorc for hell difficulty and they could bring some of the old runewords as mythics as the rune withered away the magic has now enchanted the items as a nod to the majorly used runewords like sprit stealth greif but a way to downgrade their power to fit better cause as the runes withered so did some of the power and gives some old d2 players something to collect for nostalgia but yet an explanation for why the rune system had to change

yup, hydra build even works pretty good in lvling in season5 - but after you get around lvl 70 should consider switching to something more powerful - It´s fun yeah but damagewise nay. you still can use it to hit lvl 100 but will take much longer than with a fireball/arc lash or any other S/A Tier lvling builds. Same counts for incinerate - it´s great at start but falls off at around lvl 45/50

It's a great leveling build. As far as the level, I'm in torment 3 of the ptr with the build. I think that is similar to pit 40 or so. It's definitely deeper in then I've ever been willing to go with a hydra build.

Summoning mats are tradable and you can't take out mats from material tab so i guess thats why they're there.

They will nerf somethings. I don't think this build. I was able to get it to t3 but in t4 it falls off fast, even with mythics. I don't see a nerf coming. The Rogue's dance of knives on the other hand is going to get nerfed, for sure. It is crazy fun to play.

I like the new system but i would rather the world tier was a capstone than level 50. If you can do it earlier great. Especially on an alt

I think that would be fine. What I really didn't like is that all your gear before the capstone becomes trash instantly.

Capstone system was super boring, it was the same long dungeon each time. new system is way better & more replayable. The capstone bosses already exist as bosses in the world/at end of dungeons anyways so not missing much.

I found the leveling super boring without capstone, there were no objectives. Rendering dungeons irrelevant was super dumb from Blizzard. Locking some difficulties behind levels is not a good design.

I don't actually mind the capstone. I mind the immediate gear swap setup. Having a capstone to gate jumping to expert or penitent, I think would be fine.

How is this better? They've shuffled things to be more like D3... what makes D4 better than D3 now? D3 is cheaper, has more build variety, has more variation in skill expression, has more expressive unique items and more build defining sets, more gem variations in the legendary gems, better mob variety and dencity, and a dlc that doesn't cost the same as a car.

I think it is in a good place. They should be borrowing from what has worked in the pass and keep working things forward. It's been a year and I don't know if you remember the state of d3 at a year, it wasn't good. A lot of what made it good came from adding season and finally opening it up to a team that was taking risks. Though those risks didn't all work out. I love a lot about both game, the graphics of d4 are far superior and it also has an amazing storyline. It certainly doesn't cost the same as a car and when d3 released an expansion, 10 years ago, they cost the same as this upcoming expansion. When they release d3, you were not getting seasons with new concepts every three months and the expansion came out years later. So, if you want to play d3, I totally understand. I have played enough d3 for a lifetime and I'm really glad d4 keeps getting better.

I have been playing Diablo since 1997 I have more hours on Diablo than anyone I have ever met that's Diablo 1 Diablo 2 Diablo 3 yes still play all Diablo with d4. D4. Changes r trash game deos not hit my spot. Items and loot in d4. Wreck the game and make it boring

I mean s5 was amazing but I do feel like the changes to s6 r gonna be pretty bad but I hope I'm wrong just gotta wait and see.. Been playing Diabolo since D1 as well and I must say D4 is my fav by far... I'm an outcast when I say that to people lol. But s4 and s5 were so good I wish they just added to s5.

The changes to the leveling are coming to season 6 that isn't changing because of the PTR. Maybe difficulty balances but not the capstone's, leveling 1-60, glyph experience, new paragons, new difficulty levels, most of what I cover is definitely coming. Have a good one!
