You said it with insurance this is killing the industry cause no matter how safe you are they can and will raise your rates and your have to have it so they got you!!!!😊

Just witnessed a Amazon contract carrier rip a DEF nozzle off the pump at Ft Bridger, WY TA. When it was run down and stopped, 3 drivers got out of it. 2 men 1 woman. How can they make a living? 3 of them! It's still more than they made in India. How does a o/o compete with that.

I work at XPO, and granted I am the last guy on the board, but I’m getting called out at least once a week for the past 4-6 weeks because it’s slow. Yes it’s a small service center but still… it’s the summer. We should be flowing pretty nice around this time.

Knowing your costs and refusing low paying loads. Unfortunately for some new folks with larger overhead, they must keep moving. If you compromise on a few low paying loads it is hard to dig back out of that hole. You just can't work your way out of it. As an older owner operator, I can sit out low paying loads, but if a shipper can move it cheap one time they will keep the rates low. Thankfully as a contract hauler I set my rates and only accept what I am awarded and stay profitable. The green stuff and equipment costs are not going away so the rates must reflect that.

I never felt like I had a good college education until I started seeing you here on Y T for the first time years ago. You ARE the BEST. Keep up the good work dear sir. You have the utmost respect and admiration from me and my wife. A breath of needed fresh air for certain.

I agree with almost everything you are saying here except the first shortage. According to freightways the actual volume of freight is up by two or three percentage points year over year. The only reason it looks like there's a freight shortage of because there's too darn many trucks. During the pandemic so many people got into Trucking from all over the world you couldn't even buy a used truck because they were all gone and yes there is sort of a freight shortage for all these trucks cuz there's too many of them. Until we have a serious culling of the herd what time is it going to be extremely tough and trucking.

100% on all 5 points l work ltl and rail has taken alot of or freight. Yards or filled with rail containers plus low ball foreign drivers hauling freight for no profit

My company is running me like a dog. I wish things would slow down. I need a break. I've been running on Recap hours for 3 weeks. I requested hometime last week and I haven't heard back from my dispatch. I want to go home.

YES SIR!! I very seriously doubt the government, who make up all the regulations regarding the industry, have any practical experience in driving a truck in the first place! >:(

It’s not that there’s a shortage of freight, there’s too much capacity availability. The market is just correcting itself, intends to do that.

Quick question: Do you think the mixture of Bio-Diesel and Diesel #2 in a tractors fuel tank tends to throw off the Fuel gauges reading.
@ronnieterry49165 ай бұрын
Fuel cost is entirely too high. The small trucking person has to do most of their own maintenance work. Especially changing oil and filters. And other maintenance work. And try and avoid break downs on the site of the road.

I just want to take a second to champion and show appreciation for you. I have been looking at your videos for a few years now and it seems like you’re one of the few that really gets it. Seems as if Ooida and you are the only lobbyist that speaks the truth of the perversion of our industry. You focus on small n big picture issues that have devastating and harsh repercussions. After the military and college, I forwent everything but driving a truck. If I could have gotten my cdl at 16….lol… I would have. To not piss my parents off I went into the Army and went to college. I love this industry with everything in me me. However, the over regulation & unsavory people is seeming like it’s starting to wear on me, after 17 years. I’ve ran a brokerage owned 14 trucks and it’s getting criminally ridiculous. People look at this industry like the neighborhood hoe…. Just use it up, no respect, & try whatever you wish!!!!!! Lmao

Funny in this costs go flying up but, what other industry doesn't or can't specify a profitable price? Ok, on to speed limiter n brake assist. At work my 12 Volvo 10 spd was replaced with a 17 Volvo auto, my knees are shot great 👍. Some wise ass set it at 65 I'm stuck in the right lane 95% of the time. Sucks big time when the boss is pushing time. One determines the other! Bought a 16 Volvo sleeper to restart what used to be auto haul, van this time. Great prices regs including threats of fines right off, I'm not hauling anything yet, hold the bus there Uncle Sam. Am I really as restarting following fuel spike about bankrupting me supposed to be up with million & billion dollar companies? Really?!. Trying as a last stand I love driving but, despite all the yt guys...it ain't easy. W2 waiting n retooling for better rates. More that go out by the thousands monthly supply & demand will kick in, if not boy we or I'm in deep.

To optimize the trucking industry, we should explore the potential of combining advanced AI technology with traditional gas-powered tractors, focusing on augmenting rather than fully automating jobs.
