One day my husband brought me a rose. I asked what he had done as this was unusal for him. He said he passed by a girl in a wet t shirt and she looked fine. I laughed. She got a sell, he got a look, and I got roses. We all won.

GenX here. Growing up "No Fear" was literally on all of our shirts, backpacks, stickers, etc. Look it's okay to be afraid, but we are required to, we Must, face our Fears. Like my 5 yr old granddaughter revealed to me last week that she's afraid of Police, so I took her that very same morning to the Police Station to meet a couple of Police Officers. Now she's not scared anymore because she was made to face her Fear. No Fear. Life is short, we don't have time to waste a moment afraid.

Way back in my 20s I worked as a police officer at a smallish midwestern college. We got along well with the local PD because we were certified through them, so had jurisdiction in the city as well as on campus. One of the Sgts for the city was a black man that stood 6'8" tall, weighed in around 250 pounds, and was a power lifter capable of bench pressing a small car, and curling most people. He was not scared of anyone. However, he was terrified of anything with more than two legs. He absolutely refused to enter the house for wild animal or bat calls. The best part was that one of the dispatchers just LOVED sending him on calls involving animals just to see how long it took him to call for another officer to deal with the critter after he got on scene.

Fun fact: People with lighter hued eyes (blue, green, or grey) can see slightly better in low light conditions due to the more translucent iris allowing more light into the eye. Conversely people with darker eyes can see slightly better during bright light conditions because their iris blocks some of the light, reducing glare.

This is legit. I have super dark brown eyes and it is very difficult for me to drive at night. My 70 year old father has blue eyes and has zero issues. Two of the guys I work with have blue eyes and have their sunglasses on from morning to evening, where I only wear them while fishing. I wear polarized lenses to cut the glare to spot fish. Otherwise I don't wear sunglasses. Which is probably a bad thing.

I love having lizards live on my front porch! Can't tell you how many times I have found frogs in my house. I name all spiders, frogs and critters that shouldn't really be in my house "Fred". My son killed a spider that was living between the wall and my bed once, and I asked him why he killed "Fred". So, I will kill black widows, and the likes, but if it is just a daddy long legs, they can stay. Oh, yes, I am glow in the dark white. That said, when you have lived on 1000 acre ranch you got not be afraid of things. Well, snakes, those things scare me, because I never see them till I am stepping on them. Sheesh!

Sometimes I feel like a walk or I need to get my steps in late and I will take a battery-powered lantern and walk down my driveway (about a tenth of a mile) and back again in the dark dark. There's moonlight and starlight and one porch light that only shines 50 feet or so from the house and that's it (which is why I have to take the lantern with me to see to walk). When I was a kid growing up in S. Florida, my little brother would always find every critter with more than 2 legs. One time he found a couple of those little bitty green lizards in the bushes outside the living room window. He put one up to each earlobe and they both snapped on LOL. They don't have any teeth to speak of but he shook his ears and they looked like earrings. This was 55 years ago and I still remember and laugh fully when I think of it. He also came home one day with a soda cup and a straw. He ran up to my mom and said look what I found! He was holding the straw up to her and was proudly showing off one of the biggest black widow spiders I have ever seen. My mother turned white as a cloud and almost passed out. Big brother came up behind him and knocked it out of his hand and it scurried off into the bushes. Because little guy was a scrapper, he and the big brother started scrapping. It was hilarious.
