"One area of life I have no regrets about" What a powerful statement! I'm in my 10th year homeschooling and I can say the same. I'm SO glad God called me to homeschooling, I"m so grateful for the time and investment and joy I'm got to share with my children through learning. My kids are thriving and I'm so proud of who they are becoming and honored that I get to be an integral part of their growth. *As I carefully examine my own grammar and judge it lol!*

😢Your message today just totally convicted me about not making your children feel like a burden because you don't take care of yourself. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me permission to take care of myself and see that neglect as the truth that it has been.

Yes! Hit me too. 😫 My husband just pointed it out to me that I hadn't been taking care of my self just recently too.

I loved this video! These are all things I have told other homeschooling moms for years! Motherhood is such a blessing. It should be lived with joy and love not only for our family but also for ourselves.

Holy cow, did I need to hear this today😢 My Mom died suddenly a few months ago, and it rocked me. I am a terrible actress, and my boys can see right through me. Maybe a break is OK. Think I’m gonna have a day off today🥹❤️

What you said touched me. I lost my mom suddenly too. Just few days to her birthday. I couldn't bear the pain so we stayed off school for a while. I took lots of time to cry and mourn until I was ready to stand again. I feel much better now. I'm holding on to her lovely memories. Please take some time off. You really need it.❤

Yes! I agree. Ive been guilty of all of those at least at some point in 5 years of homeschooling. But I really struggle with doing better. Say, I stop those things. Then what? How do I do it better and not keep making the same mistakes over and over again? I can't be the only one who feels like they need a detailed and explicit road map. Some days, I have zero idea what I'm doing, or if what I do manage is making any difference at all. Motherhood has left me feeling completely inept and incompetent, and Im terrified I'm going to screw up my kids.

I was already pretty flexable before this year but September forced us to be super flexable. We had a son killed in a motercycle accident. So homeschooling was put on the back burner for about three months. I am just this month getting back into the swing of things. Still super flexable as we dont do everything I would have been doing but we get the most important things done and call it a day. Im still living in a fog so I give myself grace.

This is really great advice and I agree (as someone who homeschooled my oldest from 3 years of age through 8th grade). I feel that AS you homeschool and learn things yourself about what works and what doesn't for your kids, it becomes easier overtime. I think when we got to 3rd grade, things became more difficult with curriculum, so I had to let go of some things and be more free so that everyone felt better and the learning experience got better. Well done.

I would love a video about how you find time to self care or make time to self care. ❤ What do you tell your kids? I always feel so guilty when I put myself first in order to get something done for myself. 😢

Sometimes, if possible allowing your children to choose some curriculum and/or subject matter helps spark that interest. My daughter loves horses and I found her a literature unit about horses. She’s so excited and reading all the time. I know it’s not always easy and they do have to learn what is necessary too.

That's always a challenge. But when the opportunities come to freelance and to follow your child's passion, you'll know. Everything can't be interest-led, though. Most things, esp in the younger years, just have to be taught, and we have to get through them. It's a good lesson for kids to learn. Most parts of my life will be obligations, like school, work, bills, traffic laws, taxes, etc. That makes our hobbies, holidays, family life, and being out in God's creation so much richer. 😊

Dear Angela, I just saw an older video of yours and was wondering if you still do the intermenting fast to this day. Or do you now have a different eating routine. You always look so fresh and healthy and I would like to achieve that too one day.
