I would love to see a video on less common anxiety symptoms.

Tim, you are the catalyst to my recovery. You taught me not to be afraid of the fear (anxiety). I don’t get why you’ve not many subscribers? You are the no1 in my book. Everything you say is just so on the ball. Thanks brother. Edit: I carry a bottle of water around with me in my car or wherever practical as when I get anxious I get a dry mouth and that can be another trigger for the vicious circle of anxiety. I went into the supermarket today without it and dealt with it very well, learning not to be afraid of the momentary fight or flight response…

Thanks for another great video I've changed my relationship with anxiety due to them i now thank my crew for taking me away from potential threating and dangerous situations. I now need to tackle the other beast of depression. Could you do some more content regarding depression ? Happy new year to you

Hi Shane. Happy new year to you too. I've done a couple of videos on depression but not as many as I would like as I recognise most come here for anxiety advice. However, this year I am looking to do more. Watch this space.

Thank you for your great videos. It's really hard to accept that being an introvert is fine these days I feel like something is wrong with me and end up blaming myself. I also have a question Is Maladaptive daydreaming a sign of social anxiety? when I get very busy and stressed it makes me feel better. Music triggers it too.

Nothing wrong with not wanting to mix etc. Half the time when you see the ultra loud, ultra confident they’re over compensating for low self esteem or some sort of issue. You’re more normal than you think.

Absolutely nothing wrong with having a preferred limit on social interactions. More people should recognise those moments of overwhelm and allow themselves to take a break. All too often we perceive the need to step away as a sign of us 'not coping' and needing to leave the event/party immediately. Maybe we just need to go somewhere quiet for 20-30 minutes and recharge in peace. I'm going to film an episode on maladaptive daydreaming as it's been mentioned a couple of times in comments. The short version is that our mind will always naturally when possible move towards the easier option. Sometimes it feels like a better option to immerse ourself in a preferred fiction than an unpleasant reality. It's only a problem when it becomes a problem (if that makes sense). It's one of those principles that apply across the board when it comes to mental health that sometimes we need to consciously direct our focus to the long term positive action rather then the 'in the moment' preferred path. Our subconscious is predisposed to seek out the immediate happiness rather than the long term happiness so vanishing into a dreamworld in our mind can be the result of that. As with most of these things it's nothing that is a cause for alarm and not really a disordered response, it just means your mind is doing what it does, which is coming up with strategies for your happiness.
