This review is missing the point here on so many fronts.....the overlapping subdials are a design feature that visually work really well and don't interfere with function at all. The date window position makes the date easy to read at a glance (I wouldn't buy a watch without a date feature). You can look down at your watch without having to pull up your wrist completely parallel to your face. Most would purchase this watch for the movement and with good reason.....as for people mistaking it for a Rolex, that's their problem. Never bought anything to please or appease someone else. The clasp is awkward, I'll give you that, though it gets easier after a bit of use......

That date window at 4 is indeed a blight on an already busy but interesting dial. That said, it’s still a good looking piece which stands on its own heritage, design and technical merits as well as undoubtably appealing to some of those customers who can’t get a Daytona at retail and can’t, or won’t, pay ludicrous secondary market prices.

Way cooler than any Rolex! Rolex only has the best marketing department, not the best watches, I barely wear mine anymore as it is nice to be different and I will never pay over the odds for any watch!

I bought my Chronomaster Open Heart about 4 weeks ago 😃, no horrible date window😂, no black bezel🤣, I think they have made some small adjustments to the clasp as mine seems to work rather well. all in all a beautiful time piece.

The clasp is only annoying if you don't know how to use it: Open the bar and then pull on the other side of the clasp or push with the finger nail. Et voilà, it opens super easy. It's a security mechanism that it's hard to open at the bar.

My perspective regarding any watch and not just the Zenith is, if you are worried about someone thinking that your Zenith Chronomaster Sport is a Rolex Daytona, you purchased it for the wrong reason. Since I do not collect or invest in watches, I wear them, personally I could care less what anyone thinks about it.

I ve just acuired this nice Zennith. I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH THE CLASP. My 7yo son can open the flip lock easily. If anyone takes a look through your website, and see what watches you have in stock now, then it would be quite easy for him to understand why you are trying to promote the Daytona and not the Chronomaster ;-)

I have visited my Ad and informed that using finger nails to open the clasp is not the right way, Simply hold on to both side at the other end (away from the Star clasp) and give it a soft pulland it will open well. . I owned rolex,tudor,omega and only this zenith chronosport. I understand how you are feeling. I have to say, without the right technique, one will seriously think zenith is doing everything wrong (when compare to rolex and Tudor). But if Zenith can improve in its clasp, it will be a benefit for all customers. Hello zenith, you there?
@victorhass3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Not a fan of the Breitling clasps, but the inherently right way to operate them is to pull from the opposite side, opens very easily.

The fact that there is no place on may Alfa Romeo Spider to place the front plate is one of the things I really love of it. The fact that this watch is not a rolex but a ZENITH makes me desire it a lot. When the time comes to buy an El Primero for my collection it will be this one. I like this watch a lot, so I see your 5 annoying facts as a compliment to this superb piece. When we like and love the art and craftsmanship of a time pice, those "flaws" are the glue to makes us love them even more. Ask any Omega Moonwatch owner if they are annoyed by the manual calibre. Thanks for your review, they are knowledgeable and well done, and at the end that is what really matters. The rest is just preferences. Cheers.

As you’ll see at 2:52 the angle of the watch (as it would be positioned when on wrist) makes the date window very well positioned. You’d know this if you’d bothered to capture an actual wrist shot

Great video again that I really enjoyed. And I agree with the points - text on the dial - - date window - and it should have a much better clasp.
@fabfour2892 жыл бұрын
If only Zenith drops the date window, it could reduce the thickness a bit, no? Or at least you guys put it at 6 o clock like the previous 42mm version. And again, i know tricolor subdials are kinda Zenith signature.. why don't you guys play around a bit and change the silver subdial to blue like the right one ? Watchgeeks can call it "blue eyes". It s good for better legibility also, i believe. As always, great video from watchfinder. Thanks.

I own the Chronomaster Sport and not a single person has asked me if my watch was a Rolex. The people that don’t know or care about watches will know the brand Rolex but they don’t know what the individual models are. Daytona means nothing to them. Unless you give them a very close look at the watch to see the Rolex logo it won’t even be apparent to them what it is. The people that do know watches will immediately recognize the Zenith tri-color subdials. At worst you might get a snarky “nice Zentona” or “nice Zenith Daytona”. But I’ve yet to get any comments like that either. The constant plight of watch mis-identity that this video claims owners of the Chronomaster Sport will suffer from is just not a thing. It’s a great watch. If you love it buy it. No one else cares so don’t let external perceptions influence your purchasing decisions.

I don't see a problem with the date window. However, it would probably look better in the top center of the dial, where "VpH" is located.
