What about fine china with gold on the outside edges? It has a pattern stamped on as well. What would happen if I put them in a dishwasher

I put wood and knives in the dishwasher and it's been fine. If the knife gets dull, just sharpen it, NBD.

I put all that stuff in there, minus the copper pans, but I would if I owned them. Life is too short to be hand washing stuff.

Knocked around? Uh don't you realize that most dishwashers have places where you could put a knife where it will never get knocked around. Even if it does, just sharpen it. Nonstick coating never wears off, and even if it does just buy a new one. Could earn a lot of $ with the time you save not hand washing. REPLY to this, CR. It's bad advice.

If there's a well-made place for them where they'll be safe, that's a nice exception.🙂Not everyone can "just sharpen" a knife, for various reasons. Nonstick coatings can wear off & not everyone can "just buy a new one." Not everyone can earn a lot with their spare time. If these options are open, that's wonderful.🙂 Different people have different lives; this list is general information. It is up to the viewer to discern what is & isn't applicable to them. If it isn't, they can just watch something else. Calling out CR to reply, imho, is optimistic. Perhaps they will. 🙂

Never put aluminum products in the dishwasher. Many/all detergents react and eventually eat away at your aluminum product

My 71 year old dishwasher can’t handle Champagne, Jalapeños and other spicy dishes. Otherwise it keeps on working!
