5 Times Nintendo Made a Risky Decision and Won.

So for anyone not aware, Nintendo cancelled a major community organized Super Smash Bros. tournament today for very shady reasons. They basically put a huge middle finger into the face of one of their most enthusiastic communities, for barely any reason. I am honestly not really into smash myself, but I have seen them make mind boggling stupid decisions when it comes to the Mario Maker community over and over again and I am honestly sick of it. Nintendo made some really geni(o)us decisions in the past, they created many of the most beloved franchises in the world, and their games brought joy to millions of people. I do think it is worth acknowledging and highlighting that, even though the timing of this video is really unfortunate. But, and that’s one of those huge buts. The way Nintendo treads the loving communities that form around their games is beyond stupid. They regularly spit people into the face that simply try to enjoy their games together with other people. I do think it is important to address this, and we will definitely discuss this in detail around here again. I understand why the smash community is so enraged and want to send some fuzzies their way.

The Camera for Crash Bandicoot was actually more restrictive than a tracking camera in the follow levels. It's was an on-rail camera that couldn't deviate from it's fixed, pre-programmed path, even if you moved Crash left or right.

Yup, the Crash Bandicoot games aren't much different from 2D platformers. They certainly looked impressive at the time, but you can see that Naughty Dog didn't really know how to make 3D games at the time

The hardware was so limited at that time, and naughty dog had already earned themselves a reputation of genius, out of the box programming - bur unfortunately and ultimately poor 3D controls led to their demise. Nintendo breaking their deal with Sony This is their biggest mistake they have ever made, they broke Sony's deal to work with Philips, and Sony ended up making Sony made the PlayStation and creating one of their biggest rivals, which made Nintendo lose billions, if not trillions of dollars because of the rivalry, and the only thing they got from philips deal are 4 games that are considered to be the worst game in their respective franchises.

Though it is really cool to finally see your face, its pretty jarring to go from the usual type of video to the 50/50 type. The contrast is even greater from the professional but cartoony visuals to your goofy acting. In the future, I definitely dont mind IRL parts, but Id like the majority to be like it has been

In a decade, Gyro aiming will probably be on this list. The pointer- style aiming on the Wii showed that accurate aiming on video game controllers is possible, however the disadvantage of a pointer is that it is only really good for aiming at a point on a still image, and it lacks the ability to turn the camera quickly when needed. Using a gyro in the Wii U gamepad was an amazing improvement that helped massively in making aiming intuitive and easy, however the relative lack of success of the Wii U has held Gyro aiming back from becoming a well known, familiar and commonly used method of aiming. Further implementing gyro aiming into so many of the largest games on the Switch (BotW, Splatoon, Mario Odyssey etc.), and not having an option to use aim assist was a risky choice, but caught on massively. Due to this, almost all 3rd party games on Switch that feautre aiming in a 3d space were forced by the consumer base to implement gyro aiming into their games. The way I see it, and from what I have heard from a majority of people who have tried getting used to gyro aiming is that once you get used to it, everything else feels clunky and unresponsive. I am currently waiting for more games to implement gyro controls!

I admire that you took the final part of the video to heart and started innovating on your own presentation, switching it up, experimenting, not relying on the old style that became iconic. But it does not work at all for me. Around the middle I actually started skipping the face cam bits, the ones I watched were not interesting enough. Just some feedback.
