I discovered this the hard way. I played through a game, had a few people who were there every stream. After the game was done, I never saw them again. I got so used to seeing them, talking to them, talking about their lives, then bam they're gone. It's still tough but I respect that life happens and these things happen.

Hey, Wild! What do you think of cooking streams on twitch? I've seen some people with fairly large followings, but most cooking streamers tend to be small channels. My channel is gradually growing, but I have a hard time finding stuff to do during the downtime when things have to simmer a while or bake in the oven. It isn't bad when I have some followers in the chat and we can talk, but when chat is dead I have to find a way to crank my ability to entertain and attract viewers even if I'm not chopping, stirring, rolling dough, etc. Any tips?

Tough - Cooking stream were big, but since twitch re-did the creative section they dont get as much visibility (but thats not to say you can't break out in it) Best advice I can give is, plan out everything before you stream - This way you will be ready with your actions and steps.... Bro note - Make a slight list of talking points for those long simmers and whisking 💪 I hope that helps

I'd recommend changing up the games you stream too. Don't just stream one thing. I've got some people who mostly come around when I do Jackbox streams, and others who hang out when I play other stuff like a Subnautica.

One thing I've been thinking about, when new streamers come into other channels trying to self-promo and asking for a shout out... Don't be that guy, it's obnoxious. BUT if you raid another channel, 9 times out of 10, the streamer you raided will give you a shout out and ask how your stream was and what you were playing. Don't just ask for free handouts, actually engage with the people you are asking for a favor from.
