In FL Studio, the Stereo Shaper plugin also does what the Channel Mixer does. It also has a Haas effect feature built into it, which you can also get with Khz's Haas plugin.

the sounds one can make with dual delay could easily justify it being a premium snapin but I'm glad they made it free so everyone can get blessed with it's sounds 😄

Great tutorial mate, very insightful; saved into the PhasePlant playlist I have. I noticed messing with channel mixer that it makes PhasePlant sounds much better, kind of deeper sounds. I guess that's due how frequencies are spread in the stereo field? Everything sounds better with some tweaks, even a simple saw. Btw, I noticed also the Stereo Snapin does a quick job on splitting mid/side in different tracks, but it can't handle pashing stuff or switching frequencies between channels, but for a quick tweak on mid/side is great! you don't need to load pressets to divide the signal and does the same job than the channel mixer in terms of splitting and adding effects to the mids or the sides. But, Stereo Snapin can't split mono in two signals, as you did in combinationn with the Dual Delay. That's more advancned stuff! Thaniks for showinng us your approach to these great plugings!

BOAH - last trys , google sayed "comment can not posted" ..... I thinked I am banned from DASH GLITCH , but then I Rimind , that I have a VPN on :-) lol @Dash Glitch , my Master - TOP :-) tip top :-) or I don`t find a Dual distortion in my Plugins . my dual distortion is jet a snap heap preset . I`m happy about the new presets , that is too much luck for me at one day - THX Dash Glitch !

I still didn't understand how to use channel mixer properly. If I want to use black box saturator and channel mixer, do I need to use it in parallel? One channel for mid and other for sides?

Ah hes, that classic full-on rolling bass - check my tutorial on Sesto Sento style bass, the TLDR - it's a traditional saw wave bass, but octave up the second of the three bass notes.

I messed up and bought pp in parts bought snap heap for some reason. And no multi pass..... doh! I'm using shaperbox3 for mid side stuff currently (it works) but still....

can someone actually explain to me why everyone is like "oh, we can finally do m/s processing with channel mixer now!" when you could already do m/s processing with kHs Stereo? 😂 apart from encoding and decoding m/s into L/R and vice versa you could've actually done everything else shown here with the Stereo snapin instead of the channel mixer. Even the last one as it's basically just making the left and right channels louder and quieter. You're not phasing the sound, you're slowly phase canceling the sound which is very different from phasing. Phasing moves the wave back and forth to achieve "cancelation" but it's more of a "dirty" way to cancel phase. Phase flipping on the other hand (which you're using the channel mixer for in that last technique) doesn't shift the phase of the signal at all, it inverts it perfectly which just makes it quieter the more of the phase flipped signal you mix in. So you can basically use a gain on % mode instead as well lol It can be cool to get a phase flipped version in the left or right with the random tho, that way you're not just randomly adjusting volume but also randomly flipping phase of the left or right channel. Another really cool thing you can only really do with the channel mixer now is swapping channels tho. Like, swapping left and right for whenever you might need that (not that often but it's handy when you do need it some time) or swapping mid and side signals which can sound pretty cool as well. As a general heads up to everyone (from what I've seen people having some problems with): everything you do on only the side channel will COMPLETELY disappear when playing things back in mono (unless you do stuff like ping pong delays or like disperse only the right channel or anything that changes left and right independently).

I did a video about using the stereo module as M/S split, the difference is the decode. If you just use the stereo, and then apply spatial, sometimes sides creep back into the mids - the channel mixer is the superior method.

You also can't do L/R parallel splits with just the stereo, as the pan is not a mono from side, it functions like a send.

@@DashGlitch I think I have to do some further testing to find the probably subtle differences between the ms from stereo and channel mixer cuz from some quick (beta) testing I did with it, I didn't rly find any difference. I also thought the pan on the stereo snapin was just adjusting the volume of the left and right channels, especially because I saw people asking for the ability to actually move the right side to the left channel in addition to the simple volume adjustment. Glad to have all of that in one plugin now with channel mixer tho! 😄
