I couldn't agree more. One light isn't less creative or less professional. On the contrary, you can have incredible results with one light and different modifiers. I used to be intimidated by studio lighting. I started though with one single light and I practiced a lot and I learned.

I really do love how versatile one light setups can be! And as you said, using different modifiers already gives you such a large variety of lighting with using just one light. 😁

I might say for first timers that maybe intimidated in studio that you start even smaller by using your own indoor location with a small backdrop before even renting a studio space. I transitioned to a studio (my own garage) and still mostly use a one-light set up. Also, if I had to start over, I'd go continuous light for beginners. I think this is so much easier vs OCF.

Yes absolutely! I think it’s really ideal to start off with a home studio if possible. I also love the idea of using continuous light initially as there’s no need for using a trigger and really allows you to see where and how the light falls on the subject. Great points! ☺️
