It's helped me to try and realize that the guy is only human!!! He's not perfect. He's just a person like me not something to idolize over. He has feelings too and he's not looking for someone perfect. So I try to just be myself and not worry so much about how I look

I used to be very akward around my crush but it really helps to just calm yourself down lol. Don't focus so much on acting a certain way around them so you can please them, just be comfortable being yourself, and even if they dont like you, thats ok. It takes a lot of pressure off of you when you're around them.

Thank you so much for this video. Talking to the opposite sex is definitely awkward especially if there very attractive. I think sometimes married people can make it awkward at times and it puts pressure on single people. I've learned to be myself and really pray how to go about it. Not every person you meet is the one and we have to learn to be brothers/sister's in Christ and not let the pressure get to us.

This has literally given me so much relief! I just got asked out to the prom by a guy, and I’ve never dated, or even really talked to guys, and talking to him feels so awkward. Knowing he’s likely not judging my every move, and that even though he seems really calm and collected, he’s likely experiencing the same emotions I am is such a huge relief and feeling of peace! Since I wrote this comment, I’ve been able to talk to him more frequently, and while I still am pretty awkward (that’s just kinda me as I don’t talk to people very much to begin with), I’ve been able to get more comfortable with him, and we’ve had a couple nice conversations. I’ll share how prom went in a week :)

Well, I am no Taylor Swift when it comes to guys🤣 BUT... I would give two tips that have helped me go from being super nervous talking to guys to the point that I wouldn't even look at them to actually being able to have great conversations with them. 1- Practice! Be bold and actually get yourself out there talking to guys. Not with the intention of flirting or getting a date but just putting yourself in that position. That way you'll be able to gain more confidence in yourself and be less scared. 2- Even if you like the guy, go into the conversation with a friendly perspective. Don't go in with the perspective "I like this guy and I want him to like me back". Enter the conversation with the perspective of gaining another friend. Talk to him like you're trying to befriend him, not date him. I think that helps ALOT. It helped me be able to not be so nervous and I even tried imagining that I was talking to my best friend. It just made the tension less.

I relate to this video so much! I have learned to embrace my awkwardness and just go for it sometimes, and I feel like this applies to everyone. Meeting new people can be awkward too, but I’ve found that just going for it really breaks the ice and makes the other person feel more comfortable. 😊 I completely agree with Morgan as well! The confidence one is the big one in this list. In my opinion, it cancels out #3, the need to admit shyness/awkwardness. I personally feel like it'd be better to not call attention to the awkwardness by admitting it in conversation. Focus on the confidence instead. Confidence in who you are in Christ, who you are as a person, and also confidence that the person you're interested in is Godly and has several qualities you know you want in a spouse. Seeing that in someone would tell me that they are someone I can consider pursuing more to get to know them better. :)

I am very guarded and I don’t always present who I really am around people, I present the guarded version of myself and I shy away. Our physical appearance is something we’re often self conscious about and it’s something we can take steps to improve, but at the end of the day, your confidence shouldn’t come from your physical appearance but from the grace God has given you and I. Well what if a guy you don’t like always slurs you if you loose your train of thought or say something stupid or I guess off of the wall. To make you feel small? It’s always in a group and very embarrassing. I didn't realize that at first either. I thought this video was just going to be about how to flirt properly, not a religious discussion. I don't think this is the right video for me to learn from. I am a Christian, but only to a certain degree. Also, since I have autism and a lot of flirting failures with guys in the past; since I have trouble with being subtle, I don't think embracing the awkwardness is good advice for me. But, I do agree with the fact that it's not the end of the world if you get rejected even though it hurts at the time when it happens and it's a good idea to move on after that. Although, it's challenging sometimes.
