I love that you talk about aesthetic of the art... it's so an underrated technical factor

Awesome info on this topic. I've always struggled with this drill and now I understand why. No one else has explained to me that you don't reset all the way. Having your feet parallel and not allowing your heel to touch during the entire movement is a game changer.

I am 6'6, 178lbs. And i was told by my instructor (7time US national) that elevation of the foot was optional for me. Also, for mma i heard keeping the heel down was a stronger base.

Really useful. I go to two gyms, one teaches similar to you and they are really good at these, the other more for power, not as good at these. The first gym have the more powerful kicks also, like you say technique first then power comes.

3 middle kicks in a row is improbable unless is Buakaw.

Great great reminder for the tip #1, being on the ball of the foot. I am guilty of not doing it enough. Will keep it in mind for my next Muay Thai lesson.

It's funny because I genuinely thought what you are saying not to do was just me being lazy and I should not do that. Now I realize no, I'm actually just creating the very slowness and efficiency problem I spent the last half a year trying to work through. This one video just doubled my kick speed. I feel so stupid. Thank you.

Thanks so much ❤Gabe ! Could never figure out this! Why do people practice music kicks? Are they used or useful in Sparring or real fights? Will practising them be detrimental to proper form single round kicks with Full form?

hi Gabriel, thank you so much for your contents, you really are OUR mentor... can you make a video about aesthetics in martial arts and why what seems "natural" it's also efficent and tecnical. Also, what really is tecnique? everybody has their own way of moving, if you compare Saenchai with Pereira they look very different, but nobody would question their perfection. How can we find what best suits for us?

I love the kick whete you fool your opponent that your going to do a middle kick then you change and lidt your leg and do a head kick without going back amd loading up its all in the one kick as you move your knee further up if thats sense sorry dont know what the kick is called

I got hit by a spinning back kick in the groin, and it was really painful. What should I do to prevent it from happening again?
@JonLewis-ct2mk2 ай бұрын
Getting off your heel going up aids in the power of the technique? Especially the fact that with less pivoting the pivot leg and the round kick comes up at a 45° angle?
@JonLewis-ct2mk2 ай бұрын
Like when the heel is done raising impact should be made at the same side?
