Best way to get good at mixing is really listen to what you're doing .. every beat will be mixed differently depending on the sounds you pick that's why finding your own process is the most important thing in my opinion. Leveling and eqing when needed are huge
Producing beats is one thing but making toutorials that others can use is a whole different thing, this is definitely talent to do both well 🙏

Fire tutorial bro. You should do a 808 and kick tutorial
@viposad6 жыл бұрын
What's complex about 808s? :)) you should first learn about scales and when you know what's your melody scale (route note + major/minor) you can find out what chords are applicable to your melody. Then go play your 808 piano roll within those chords. As for instrument, if you wanna have original 808-sounding bass, is has to come along with your kicks (and if bass is without a kick, it's just not 808); bass has to have a dirty wave, which basically means not only low, but some additional mid and high frequencies; and it has to use pitchslide from time to time. As easy as that.
@StellarBeatsOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Some scales aren't in major or minor, you have double harmonic minors and majors, octotonic scales and so on so forth. As with the 808, the 808 usually doesn't have a kick coming with it, you add the kick in and sidechain the kick to the 808 to make the kick sound puncher and not clash with the 808. Tuning 808 basses is essential, and also you don't have to pitch bend (slide/glide) your 808 notes if you don't want to. Also you can distort your 808 and even make it sound far different from the original sample. Sometimes an 808 doesn't come with dirty frequencies and you get a clean, low bass. Those are nice in some tracks. Use an eq to figure out where the dirty frequencies are and cut them out to make your 808 more smooth. :) This is coming from a sound and audio engineer. Also follow me on SoundCloud, on my producers account, not the labels account. www.soundcloud.com/shxdow-beats
@viposad6 жыл бұрын
@@StellarBeatsOfficial thanx for further exploration :) there's obviously much more to scales, but that was written for 95% of hh-producers that are using pretty much no scale at all, so maj/min would be a good start for them. I can't imagine any of those producers to pick e.g. mixolydian scale and going top-bottom-top of Vth-circle within 1 track. But for the sake of you showing off being clever - well yeah, you're right, there's definately alot more to it. As for 808 - dirty distorted soundwave and sidechaining kicks is what actually makes a bassline 808ish. If you want that 808 feeling, you don't want a "clear sound" or no kick, because that will leave it in a state of simple bass, and not 808. :) and as for "pitchslide if wanted" - well, that's kinda obvious, don't you think? :))) That's a commonly used trick, thats why I mentioned it. You don't have to do anything unless you want to. You might not even want those 808s, and go for crazy GlitchMob/FlyLo/whatever basses if you want to. :)
@StellarBeatsOfficial6 жыл бұрын
An 808 is a sustained sinewave with no modulation, no synth bass parts, just a bass that's "smooth" it can be either a normal sinewave, or something with mad amounts of distortion. So you can basically call something with no high end that is smooth and without a kick or distortion. Mainly in the genre of Trap and Bass Trap. However, an 808 can be called a sub bass in other genres like mid tempo, dubstep etc etc. :) Just remember, an 808 may not have a kick or high/mid end, but it's still an 808, depends on what genre you use it in. Not looking for an argument, I'm just letting you know ;) I also didn't want to show off. I just want to inform and let people know all the complex stuff so they get more insight, that's how I've been taught to be in life
@viposad6 жыл бұрын
@@StellarBeatsOfficial Thanks for your insight :) Not looking for a dispute either. It's just about reasons I am writing these comments - I want young producers to get engaged into learning music and levelup their game, and thus I'm trying to show them that there's nothing too hard and complex in there. Thats why I'm telling e.g. commonly used maj/min, instead of naming every possible scale. To get them interested first. What you are telling - is a more in-depth stuff for more experienced and taught producers. That's cool, but if I was a young producer knowing nothing about e.g. sound design, words like "sustained sinewave modulation" would scare the shit out of me, and ill never get into learning that topic) We as more experienced producers need to help young guns overcome fear of unknown. You be getting my point? :)

Hope you don't mind me posting this Kyle but I have a few extra workflow tips for FL users that I think can be benefited from: Ctrl + A will select everything either in the piano roll or arrangement window Ctrl + Up/Down will move anything selected up or down an octave in the piano roll Shift + Click will allow you to multi-select individual notes in the piano roll Shift + Click on any key with the selection tool in the piano roll window and it will select every note on that key Ctrl + Alt + C Will let you render/consolidate a pattern to audio when selected in the arrangement window

Iv also noticed you have that Pop Type feeling in almost alot of your beats and thats too dope. i think it fits better. You on to something dawg KYLE BEATZ
