I saw the first part of this comment as it was the top of the upvotes when I first watched this video - I stopped from reading more and just braced myself thinking okay maybe I can weather it - then it got to the part and knowing everything else - damn that hit me too, that is freaking hard not to get hit by that one without having to wipe your eyes.

Story #4 - I can’t believe it’s been almost SEVENTEEN years since the day after Christmas/Boxing Day Tsunami… 😔 That was such a scary, horrifically unimaginable tragedy! No one around the entire world could even begin to wrap their minds around it all. I’ve heard so many tales brought straight out of the worst nightmares imaginable to stories of heroism and survival… It took such a long time to get footage from the areas anywhere near the hardest hit places… it was 2004 and there just wasn’t enough technology to get videos out of those places to the rest of the world in a timely manner! God Bless all those who lost their lives and their loved ones! I can’t even begin to imagine what it was like, even for all those who witnessed it all and didn’t get hurt… I pray there is never another colossal tsunami that steals so many lives for the rest of eternity! God Bless our world and everyone on it!🙏♥️✝️🇺🇸🌎 Love from Texas ♥️🤠🌴

Yeah that story made me tear up. With the way things are going I don’t think thoughts and prayers will do much good in preventing it though, I think if anything we are heading g towards bigger and badder disasters. I feel humanity has made its bed. I fear our future is going to have much more of these situations. Not to mention the forest fires and all the other disasters. I don’t want to think to about it…it’s actually scares me to my core. I just hope we can develop the technology that helps earn or save people.

It was so horrifying. I had a classmate who was there, in Thailand, on holiday with her family, thankfully they all survived but she developed pretty severe PTSD. I remember that I had a party at my house and a song came on, and I guess it reminded her of what happened because she broke down crying in a full on panic attack. I felt so bad for her.

I can’t imagine being in the son’s place in story 4. I feel like I’d sooner drown with my mom than I would let her go, but I don’t have a husband or kids yet so I can’t say I know how he felt. Either way I hope his mom got a medal or something the moment she entered the gates of Heaven. God bless her and may she Rest In Peace. Prayers towards her family, OP, and his wife too.

I went to Köln in the late 90s. I too went to sample some good ole German beer. (Gosh darn is it fab). My friend and I found a little cellar bar and we were the only 2 English in there. I had learned to say “Zwei Biere bitte”. That made the locals laugh. After more and more “zwei biere” the locals decided to start buying us these little bottles of ice cold schnapps. While laughing their asses off. My golly they were lovely. We had a great time. Then it was time to go. Walked up the stairs out of the door into the crisp winter night and promptly vomited down some poor sods BMW. So 2 horrors occurred the next morning. 1. The BMW. And 2. My Bloody Head. So while I say I have been to Köln, I do not remember much of it at all. I believe there is a really nice cathedral there. “Absolute ball ache”. Best expression ever

That's Cologne for you. Born here, raised around Cologne, moved back into the city at 19. Loads of lovely people (I don't drink, though 😁), most of them very accepting of everyone. It's become even more colorful and multi cultural in the last few years with Turkish bakeries next to an African shop, a Polish supermarket across a Russian mom and pop store, a Vietnamese restaurant opposite of the pizza place. And between it all are the traditional German bakeries, but her shops, bookstores, and a brewery. Not to forget the gazillion of kebab houses. 😁 Yeah, we have a very large cathedral over here as well, and a quaint "Altstadt" with all the beer houses, pubs, jazz clubs, cocktail bars, and more right alongside the river where small ships (or large boats?) offer scenic rides. Glad you liked it here. 😊

Joel. That Scary Vacatoon you just released must be one of the most interesting of your many stories. Bringing in real life Tsunami and Pablo Escobar and the downsize of a Safari by air really made them terrifyingly realistic. Yet strangely relaxing sitting in my cosy armchair in the U.K thanking God for my good fortune in so far escaping such terrible experiences. I loved the ironic humour aswell. So understated. The first story flashed me back to the time I was visiting Hamburg with a guy who didn’t drink but did smoked weed. I rarely partake but of course this time I did with some guys we met at our hostel. Of course it wasn’t weed and I found my self in a train station at some point convinced I was homeless with a complete different set of memories. When it was all done (I vaguely remember some Russian guy getting me back to my hostel) I notice I had no money and other things were missing 😩
