As an Austrian I was only shocked they didn't discover 20 more cases, there's still a lot of catching up to do, in the 90s child abuse was still mostly seen as normal and justified and sexual abuse mostly covered up.

The diamond break in reminds me of the Clutter murders (the subject of In Cold Blood by Truman Capote) The intruders believed a rumor that there was a safe in the house, however there was not. @aaronlombard31193 жыл бұрын
My fiances church is like that, the women have no power whatsoever
@venus_envy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's just a description of normal religions with the sexes inverted, and the story was pointless too, like he said their time in the basement was horrible, but then nothing bad really happened to them besides having to sleep in a crappy basement. In real cults it's like that for women except they get raped in their early teens and forced to breed with old men. I fail to see what was so bad for these boys? Even in a fantasy men can't compare to female trauma in reality.
@reyannawynters18003 жыл бұрын
@@venus_envy I wouldn't put it off like that quickly. A cult is a cult and also the mental torture is another story altogether. They program children from the time they are barely walking to certain ideas. Usually too the ideas that they are lead to believe never go away! It takes years and years of reprogramming as well as therapy. Some children only grow up to become destructive, either with others around or become suicidal. Not always, but it's not very pretty

I’m not at all saying having someone live in your house without your knowledge wouldn’t be terrifying, nor is it right for someone to do that. But the reality is, the guy was there long enough to have committed an act of violence had he intended to do so. Continuing to dwell on the fact that he hasn’t been caught yet may not be the best way to get past this. The family got a terrible scare, but unless I missed something the guys worst crimes were trespassing, and minor theft
