I'm a toyota believer, but never buy a used Toyota based on a "buy". New they are great new, but over priced used and as good as they are used they will always be the least attractive vehicle made. When they came out in the 60's and 70's replacement parts were virtually free from the dealer. Now they are among the most expensive to own as they age, if you are a person who repairs your own vehicle.

My first truck was a 2002 tundra that we bought for 6,000 with only a little over 100,000 miles, honestly the best truck I’ve owned, great power, was surprisingly fast for an early 2000s truck and super reliable only problem was trying to find hands small enough to work on the engine yourself for things like pulleys belts and just simple things😂

The 05 f-150 and 04 sucked so bad, had both brand new and were nothing but problems, 09-14 were so much better, the 11 is one of the most reliable trucks I’ve ever owned and that 5.0 makes it all the better.
@bryancenterfitt7127
@bryancenterfitt7127 4 жыл бұрын
You really need to do more research into your trucks! 5.4 and the 4.6 3 valve were a big problem! You can pick them up so cheap because people don't keep the maintenance up, and that's because of the price for repairs once the plug snaps off in the cylinder heads! Now, on GM, the only issues we really had with the 5.3 was with the Cam's getting hammered out by the lifter's, and I want to say that was on the 3rd or 4th gen 5.3. The GM 6.0 was a pretty good engine, especially if you wanted to build one up! Now, the 4.6 ( if I remember that engine size correctly) wasn't a bad problem at all! They were pretty good on fuel economy, and had okay towing abilities, but was great for every day use.. Now to Toyota, I wouldn't trust it at all! This is my opinion, and that's because they did have a lot of mechanical issues, most notably was with the throttle body getting stuck open, and the transmission wasn't that great! Same thing with the Nissan Titan as well, weak transmission! Yes, you need to do more research on your vehicle's before launching a video telling people they should buy something.

Yeah, but the lithium-ion batteries will make a great fire starter when you get in an accident! Will never own an electric truck! Maybe a car, but not a truck. Perfectly happy with my 08’ Dodge Ram 1500 with 349,000 miles, has only ever broken down once in the 240,000 miles I have put on it. Only burns 1/4 quart of oil in 5,000 miles. My 07 Colorado was garbage. The wiring harness caught fire at 47k miles. My Grandfather had a 2011 Colorado that never even made it to 20k before the electrical issues emerged. Windows rolled up and down on their own when you turned on the key, power locks only locked on one side or the other, the theft deterrent system sometimes kept him from starting it, the list goes on. I sold mine and bought a 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi, had 193k on it when I got it, and 312k when I sold it. Never had any problems out of it other than the gas gauge sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. Buying pretty much anything with a 5.3l vortec is good advice though. Can’t go wrong with that one.

Loved the energy in the intro! ❤ All around great video. I am looking to buy a truck because of similar reasons others want to. I have a 2009 Kia Borrego EX V8, but I am looking at putting $10k-15k MINIMUM into it to make a run smoothly. I at least need to drop a new engine, fix my transmission, shocks and struts, AC intake, and possibly reseal my exhaust. So, I am looking for a relatively cheap fill-in option until I can work on this "project car" more, lol. Thanks again for your insight and help, I am subscribing! ❤

That Colorado i5 is waiting to steal big money out of your pocket for the timing chain repair. Those I5s are infamous for that. You have to pull the front axles and oil pan to get to one bolt that holds the cover on to get to that chain, and then you also have to pull the transmission to get at a balancing chain at the back of the engine. I believe Deboss Garage has a video repairing theirs.

Toyotas are cheaper to buy brand new but more expensive to buy used because those things are just so damn reliable you have a hard time getting them off of people. It's easy to buy a Ford or a Chevy off of somebody because they're never really anything special after they've been slightly used but Toyotas man people love those things the more they use them it seems. I've been trying to buy a nice used Tacoma for years now and people want a freaking kidney and a firstborn child for one in good condition.

The Colorado is an overpriced s10...shakes,rattles and rust problems..and let's not forget about the f150 engine problem...this is the first video I have seen where that year f150 was actually recommended..still $5000 if you count paying $500 for the truck off Craigslist,then $4500 for a new 5.4 engine

I see what happed it's when they are over 25,000 they aren't reliable. 5000 was what I should have spent. Darn it.

I said if you want to buy a real real true truck ! go ford F250 F350 , also chevis 2500 or 3500 , some ford F150 v8 and v6 natural aspirated non turbo are excellent choices , early years 1500 from chevi are bulletproof 👍, and Toyotas tundra and tacomas in my opinion they are good trucks but way too much money for what it is 🤷🏼‍♂️…

I had a Ford 2011 F150 extended cab with a coyote V8 . The truck itself was pure junk did not like it. The motor was the only thing i would keep. If you come across one with the Triton V8 motor stay far away. So many problems with those .Another Ford blunder , to many to count on one hand.
