I had an interesting conversation about traveling with my daughters who are in their late 20s. I shared my theory about how my generation became addicted to materialism; comparing homes and possessions with neighbors and friends. They stated that their generation is not so different in that experiences are also addictive and can detract from fostering contentment at home. Experiences and trips on social media sites can breed envy and inadequacies. It seems to be important to know yourself relatively well, and make intentional and thoughtful life choices. Great video!

I agree 100%. I think sometimes, our friends and neighbours on social media spend big money on trips, and you never hear anyone say "it was just okay, but not woth the money", or "I would have enjoyed a shorter trip", or, "I overspent while on vacation and now I'm broke and regretful". You ONLY hear that they had the "best time ever." I traveled in my 20's. And I'm so grateful for the learning experiences. And if I had tons more disposable income, I 'might' travel a bit more, but maybe like once every two or three years. Right now, I'm trying to focus on saving some money, and making my home feel safe and comfortable. Just my opinion.

Wow, I have never thought that I spent money buying things I did not need just to have fun. Such a good perspective, now I can think about that before I overspend.

Loved this video, Nicholas :) As a minimalist, I also enjoy going out in nature, watching films / shows, and reading. I think the main part here is being intentional with the action and enjoying it. PS - your skateboarding skills are quite interesting, would love to watch some more clips / flips in future !

Wow! This video was an eye-opener for me! Thank you for sharing this incredible insight. It completely changed my perspective on adulthood. I now see that living a minimalist life can bring back the joy and wonder of childhood even as we grow older. Gone are the days of believing adulting is just about work and responsibilities. Embracing simplicity can lead us to a life filled with happiness and contentment, just like a carefree child. Truly inspiring! 🌟

Great video! skateboarding is a pretty expensive hobby if you skate on a regular basis and do have a decent bag of tricks (been pushing for 35 years)! decks need to be changed at least every 3- 4 weeks, shoes every month..but agree its still fairly cheap compared to partying or playing golf haha ( I love Koston tho)

Im a first time watcher to your channel, and Im so impressed. I love your outlook, and also your voice is calm and soothing, you should do guided meditations also, if that's something that interests you. It's just awesome to have a host with a voice that isn't too loud, and again, calm and soothing. The world can be loud enough. Your ideas are smart and remind me to value experience over material possessions. Your minimalistic home is lovely. Again, it had a calming feeling. I have a lot of anxiety, so I really appreciate calming voices and environments. P.S. One small suggestion, I love to try new things, and I LOVE the analog nature of skateboarding. But I'm 49, and I have post-concussion syndrome. Im just saying for us older people, maybe suggest a helmet and some knee pads. Great video!

As always, appreciate your thoughts Nicholas. This video resonated with me really well, and I must say it even inspired me to continue occasionally picking up my guitar :) I have somehow similar attitude towards life right now, for me it's all about balance. I enjoy nature, and it def helps when you work from home. Cooking is also my small hobby, and since I'm trying to go plant-based it's even more creative. I relate to playing videogames in moderation, especially as a reward after checking all tasks - that's my way as well. Also with videogames, it helps me to connect with people from other countries\cultures. That was a lengthy comment, anyways I'm thankful for your videos and wishing you luck as usual. Cheers from Russia

Would you ever consider a ‘day in the life’ video? I find that I don’t know how to fill the gaps in the day between tasks and playing with kids etc. I tend to scroll for purchases ha. It’s difficult with young kids to stay in the present moment, as kids games become mind numbingly boring after a few hours. - also I have the Bellroy Transit and love it. Thanks for your content.

I recently started to look into a Light Phone II again. Still has a headphone jack, works on Ting, mint and other low cost carriers, $299 for a new device and $15 for a case. Only comes in two colors. No social media. No email. Not even color. Just calls, texts, music and rideshares. That's it. I am severely burnt out and I need to stop using my phone so much so I'm gonna do it.
