Advanced tip: watch your opponents reaction. If your opponent ducks when you throw the overhand right, feint it, then of course what you have open is the uppercut. A great example of this you could study is Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz, he executes this technique to textbook perfection.
@bbguy175 жыл бұрын
Works well for opponents who bob and weave a lot too. A lot of fighters, especially pressure fighters, have that up and down kind of forward movement to slip jabs while they try to walk you down. If the jab isn't landing, an uppercut will stop them right in their tracks.

Hey Shane, what's your take on a right handed southpaw? I find that I gain 3 things: 1. A fiendish front hook from my right 2. An accurate, powerful jab 3. A strong uppercut 4. Vastly improved movement The only drawback I see is losing that bomb of a right cross. Your input will be appreciated. The only
@erikbrodersen47185 жыл бұрын
Seetsa Molapo I experimented with southpaw as I am a right handed orthodox fighter. What I noticed is that I began to fight with one hand. My rear left hand felt awkward and slow so I naturally started using it less. I also noticed I was getting hit with a lot more right hands from my orthodox sparring partners. With a lot of practice it could be very doable but be prepared to get rocked while figuring it out. Just my experience tho try it a little and see what you think

Great job as always, guys! Curious though; what are the bare knuckle versions of these if you’re caught in a street fight with no gloves? Would you just use different punches entirely, or the same methods just going with your gut on how to hit them with out gloves? Once again, awesome work and thanks so much for the indepth explanation!

Shane, I'm a student of Kung Fu. I love striking and I have zero ground game. You've said in previous street-fight videos that, "if you feel comfortable on the ground, keep the fight on the ground. If you feel comfortable on your feet, keep the fight on your feet." can you please make a video about how to do that exactly? How to keep the fight on my feet and maybe how to escape / recover back to my feet when the fight gets to the ground? Thanks.
