My hair is curly so I plop it in a t shirt for 30 minutes with curl product and then let it air dry from there. Whenever I blow dry it completely until it’s dry, my hair is poofy and frizzy. I also wet it 5-6 days a week (but only shampoo 1-2 times a week) or my hair looks bad with bed head. I find my hair only looks good when I let it air dry and don’t touch it

Good vid, one problem: you only talk about how bad it is if you wet your hair too often: but you dont talk about what happens if your scalp is sweaty and you dont wash it. Honestly he really knows his stuff but the problem is he has straight hair and I don't so 99% of his tips don't apply to me or I already naturally do them (curly heads never wash their hair every day, they know it's drying. We also know to avoid these heavy lather shampoos like head n shoulders. We know that fully air dried hair is frizzier than hair dried with a diffuser. We also know more than anyone how harsh the sun is on our hair since our hair immediately gets frizzy when left in the sun without appropriate product.)

Suzanne here, i use coconut oil on my hair and vitamin D, i wash my hair twice a week at most, most of the time NOT, and i ddont use the same shampoo all the time, i have several kinds, any way to the point, i lost a lot of my hair , so i buzzed cut it, to start over, went to a determatologist he told me what caused it , stress!!!!! so he told me Vitamin D and, coconut oil on my scalp, he said it will take 6 months for it to regrow back in., and yes i use sulfate free shampoo! my hair is super dry long or short haha and now that its short, i dont use a blow dryer right now, very little if i do, also i dont use conditioner, it weights my hair down, unless i use the conditioner first then wash it so thats what i do. i used to be a hair dresser 40 years ago, air drying? nah i aint buying that one, it drys out the hair, and i never use a brush i use my fingers while its short, no brush at all ever

From a quick Google search there are satin head bands and sleeping caps, or if your hair is long enough you can try braiding or putting it in a bun. Also the silk/satin pillow case I find helps bc there is less friction when changing positions

But what if we're an athlete, and need to shower every day, some days even 2 times, but have a long hair?
@clinthazzard73972 жыл бұрын
So one thing I've been doing after a wash, (after soaking up some of the water in a towel, no friction) is using argan oil and just letting that sit in overnight. I leave it in but there's still water sometimes. I do this because after a wash, my hair is super dry and I need that to not happen. So...is this bad? Because it's been like 5 years and nothing is dead so far.

Hi Jesse! The video was so eye-opening. I am very curious about the whole issue of letting the hair air dry, as it is something I am very guilty of doing. My hair is somewhat curly; wavier than anything. After I shower I put on my hair some hair oil to help with the flyaways and a curling cream enhancer. How should I blow dry my hair without ruining my natural curls as my hair is very temperamental?
@jacobgarci3 жыл бұрын
You could use a diffuser attachment for your blowdrier.

@@hectrmen23ify too high heat/power or you don't define your curls while they're wet. Make sure your hair looks good when it is wet so it looks like that when it is dry.
@1tubax3 жыл бұрын
Andres, you don't need to worry about air drying. Yes, it is damaging but the effect is very minimalistic and you only need to worry about it if your hair is already damaged or dyed. If you take care of your hair in all other aspects, air drying should have neglibible effects on it. I still recommend blow drying your hair anyways. Get a diffuser attachment and watch jessie's tutorial on how to diffuse curls.
@pittsburghoilers87113 жыл бұрын
To go with the "washing everday" of you style it and put a good amount of product (e.q., heat protectant, pre-styler, post-styler) should you still not get it wet everyday? and use some sort of like a dry shampoo or something?
@1tubax3 жыл бұрын
Why do you need to style it every day in the first place? If you style it well the first day, and use a nice silk pillow or put your hair in a silk case or durag while you sleep, your hair should still be lookin amazing the second day. It's really by the third day that the hair becomes a little too frizzy for it to be presentable.
@calebmiller35682 жыл бұрын
How would u recommend drying ur hair then if you can’t use a air dryer, like even if I use a towel it’s still wet so like it’s gonna air dry which is bad? And Idk if it’s worse to dry rough with a towel or air dry more

TIPS FROM ME,ALWAYS BRUSH YOUR CLIENTS HAIR FROM BOTTOM UP AND HOLD IT A COUPLE INCHES TIGHT ABOVE THE BOTTOM OF HAIR AND BEGIN BRUSHING TANGLES OUT FROM BOTTOM UP,DON'T GO TO FAST OR YOU CAN RIPP MORE HAIR FROM CLIENTS HEAD,BE GENTLE,AND SECTION HAIR WHEN BRUSHING.DON'T LEAVE HAIR STRIAGHTER ON LONG OR IT WILL BURN IT,GIVE IT TIME TO COOL BEFORE EACH STRAIGHTENING STROKE.THEM ARE JUST A FEW TIPS,I LIKE DOING DRY CUTTS ALSO THAT WAY I KNOW HOW SHORT IT WILL BE IN THE LONG RUN,AND CLIENT IS HAPPY.

I want share my experience on something that you wont see on many honest reviews. I do have some type of frizzy curly hair and once i had done keratine treatment and now after my new hair growth its a totally mess! Natural hair will always be the best option to work with, you can add some products in it but never straight your curly hair at all. Its a waste of time and funny. Keep it natural as possible !

True... I also had keratin treatment when i was in awkward stage and now about 2 years of growing out my hair im having SEVERE hair fall and no oil, hair mask is working.... now if i don't cut my hair short i might get bald...sigh
@1tubax3 жыл бұрын
If you have curly hair do not get a straightening treatment. Get a keratin treatment that adds protein to your hair so it becomes easier to manage. It will still be curly but less; however, it will not be frizzy and it will have much more shine.

Also appreciate that you have long hair yourself, which gives us hope that you're not some maniac who just wants to cut our long hair off! But alas, you are redressing the balance and giving advice about men's hair. Re: sulphates, in the curly haired community these are considered very harsh and drying, only to be use occasionally to clarify. Most of the time we prefer to avoid silicones and sulphates (because silicones build up if you don't use a sulfate shampoo.) I don't strictly follow the Curly Girl Method, but it's a useful basis for well-conditioned hair.
