I've watched this channel for years now. It never gets boring. @@user-yq9im9dk9z it's Depression. You need to stick to the few things that still give you joy if you want to survive and not despair. For me it's Star Wars, anime and Lord of the Rings, and, when I'm able to, reading, and watching shows. Even if they are little stupid things, you need to stick to them so they distract you from your worries and sadness. I've learned this after years and years. Its a Commercial Cargo focused vehicle series specifically designed for Guilds) as both a makeshift helipad & ‘cargo’ for my two LAATs to lift, justin case.

I can’t remember what is called but my fave imperial vehicle is the one with the massive wheels on it like you see with those big arsed earth movers at mines across the world. But on topic I liked the Tie fighter over the X-Wing, and the changes made to it for the new order looked very cool imho. I guess many things that are designed to kill have strange a after effect of looking cool. Sadly of course.

The idea of control familiarity in the X-Wing to the Z-95 and T-16 is much like how WW2 tanks had controls designed, in part, to be easy for guys straight off the farm to figure out. The driver's station has two levers for steering, and the operated just like a (western trained) horse. Pull the left to turn left, pull the right to turn right, pull them both to stop. That control scheme even appeared in the M113 series of APCs.

@@MonkeyJedi99 Same note, the T-38, F-15, and F-117 Stealth have most of the same basic controls, and even the same lading gear. In fact, to qualify for F-15 and F-117, you mut qualify in the T-38. I didn't includr the F-5 as the only difference between it and the T-38 is that the T-38 is a trainer. Same principle as the Star Wars craft mentioned.

9:00 - I will argue that the ARC 170 deserves another pass: Was the ARc 170 perhaps misused in Battle of Coruscant - perhaps. The ARc 170 is a ship-killer, a vessel that attempted to fix the weaknesses o fthe Y-Wing, into a more vesatile package. I would argue that the ARC-170 would have served better as a dedicated capital ship hunter and this role it truly excelled

Say, a cool topic would be comparing and contrasting the training of clone troopers and stormtroopers. The four episodes to use for such a video would be Clone Cadets, Death Trap, Breaking Ranks, the Antilles Extraction, and Live Fire. The first two will show what things are like for Clone Cadets, the next two from Rebels will show what Imperial Cadets go through, and for extra from Resistance, we would see what First Order training has.

Hope the Mon Calamari reversed all the airlock doors on the outer hull. Doors against vacuum are designed to open inwards, so that air pressure will hold them closed even if the locking mechanism is weakened. For a submersible the reverse is true, and pressure doors are designed so that the water pressure outside holds the door shut. Put a ship with vacuum airlocks underwater and water pressure will eventually blow the door open and flood the ship. And put a submersible in space and you risk a blow out that evacuates the air from the submersible ship. That must have been a hasty refit....
@DavidRichardson153
@DavidRichardson153 Жыл бұрын
Given that, at least in Legends, the MonCal cruisers started as luxury liners, it would be easy enough to incorporate both doors into the airlock. I am thinking that the doors can open into the airlock so that the inner door will serve as an emergency sealant against the water should the outer door be breached, and the outer door can do the same for space. Granted, I do think having them open out from the airlock could work too if you do not want to reduce the amount of the already limited functional space in the airlock, but I would go with my initial thought. This is all assuming that the doors open and close by rotation instead of separation and sliding, as the latter kind of renders such concerns moot. Regardless, this only works well enough for a civilian ship. To use the same ship for military roles, yeah, a massive (and undoubtedly hasty) refit is probably needed.

Thanks again my friend. Great vid. Just wanted to take a moment to address an issue mentioned in your opening monologue. Whilst I like many are eagerly hoping for a breakthrough with fusion produced energy, the most significant issue with fission, is and always will be, the residual material that remains following use. As this material is still undeniably deadly to organic life after its usefulness has been spent, what to do with it, is a problem that must be solved. Dumping it into incredibly deep mines or sealing it in cement bunkers (lead lined or not), is simply deferring the issue for future generations to deal with at no doubt, immense cost. Ideally, perhaps our decedents will develop a means of sending the stuff via rocket into the ultimate nuke, our Sun but building something that could withstand the staggering heat of the solar winds for such a journey will prove an issue. I don't have an answer, short of perhaps using our Moon as a (temp?) storage site but it is an issue that i think preys on the minds of folks that have an issue with fission. It's also quite realistic to pay notice to the staggering damage a fission reactor causes when accidents happen. It may be rare but just like volcanoes, when it happens, the resultant catastrophe is overwhelming. Anyway, thanks for once more addressing real world issues during the course of your sci-fi/fantasy presentations. Always appreciated Allen. :)

Would have to say that the design and production of the mon cal cruisers and the x wing multi purpose fighter had the mist impact on the galaxy in respect of the rebellion winning the galactic civil war. As it allowed for the rebellion to create a large scale battlefleet ably capable of going toe to toe with star destroyers, while the x-wing and its later brother star fighters decimated the enemy's air wing before attacking and disabling enemy capital ships into the bargain.

The LT-TE doesn’t endear me as much as the AT-AT does (to scale) but you can’t transport an AT-AT nor does the AT-AT transport vehicles or personnel in any efficient manner. Maybe if it could retract its legs and let stuff off then hunch its back when standing like how the First Order Walker is designed it could be a large scale alternative and even then I am partial to the simple durasteel structure of most Imperial designs especially when it keeps the cost manageable but I also hate the Geonosian skeleton of that design and the Empire always goes overboard after the fact making a simple, cheap piece of hardware into something that is both flimsy, exposed, complicated, bulky, unmanageable and expensive. Which brings up the A-wing vs the TIE. I can easily imagine something like the V-wing airspeeder and A-wing _starfighter_ getting adopted irl just because they’re so good and so affordable compared to our flimsy expensive satellite guided fighter jets with two-stage AGM/one-stage AAM missiles and autocannons that use ammunition that needs an atmosphere to function but add onto the cost of one of those starfighters the cost and effort needed to develop the tech, construction to reconfigure infrastructure and substituting for the fictional physics that makes these things work. You’d think in 2023 super STOL fighters would be standard at least.

Ah, I see that you also see through superstitions of nuclear fission, well, actually fusion is not so futuristis as it may seem, indeed we are not even half-way to full pottential of fission. And fusion have its own, massive sets of problems, fission is easier to improve, and we can do it right now, not after someone make some breakthrought in future, fission can already take us to the jupiter if we wan't to and get rid of those treaties dissalowing nuclear tests in high atmosphere, Orion drive. This thing is mad from the concept, but insanely efficient in comparior to anything we can now muster as a spaceship drive.

is it really right to say the jedi keeping kyber crystals is selfish if the crystals are often described as almost sentient? If jedi find their crystals by having them "speak" to them, then wouldn't mining them industrially be kinda like enslaving them? On that note, one might be able to argue that the Death Star's crystal could have turned red since it was used to take so many lives; seeing how Sith get red crystals by forcing a normal one into submission. Then again maybe being emotionlessly used by a crew prevented the crystal from bleeding. The didn't imbue their shot with hate, they simply followed an order.
