Yes, because war speeds up the process of technology. Each side is constantly trying to come up with better weapons than the other, and in doing so they happened to advance technology in general, take the atom bomb for example. The cold war did the same, despite no real open wars.

Jay Penrake and we would have also never went to the moon due to soviet Russian never being founded because of the conditions of ww1 Russia and all of that over there. Planes would be behind, almost everything we know and use today was advanced a tiny bit due to the conditions of both ww1 and ww2 and technically if ww1 didn't happen then ww2 would have never happened (not talking about # wise I'm talking about the perimeters of the war).

Id love to see those plane detection devices in a single player campaign of Battlefield 1. It starts out that they're laughing about how silly it looks, then suddenly a suprise raid happens and you're the guy wearing this device and all you can hear is the blood curdling screams of your buddies as their brains are blown to pieces all over the place and you end up with PTSD. +20 points if they did it with VR.

In re the evacuation of Gallipoli, the second-to-last man to leave the beach was Major Clement Atlee, future labor Prime Minister. Major Atlee was at the time the aide-de-camp to the commanding general (can't remember his name), who made sure that he was the last soldier off the beach. How I wish today's military and political leaders led like that, instead of conducting operations from the comfortably-appointed, air-conditioned, hermetically-sealed safety of an Operations Center a thousand miles from any danger of harm.

CaesarInVa ln short, risk great minds/tacticians to getting accidentally or brutally killed. That's a great idea to slow down the world. Send the President in there as well cuz he can't be all cozy and sht
@CaesarInVa8 жыл бұрын
Angelo Dato Firstly, having political leaders share in the physical dangers of the military campaigns they set in motion might not be such a bad idea. It would give them an appreciation for the risks and hardships that others have to endure because of their political decisions. Secondly, I hate to break it to you, sunshine, but few senior grade officers possess the "great minds" or strategic mindsets of Alexander The Great, Clausewitz or Napoleon. I'm not saying they're idiots, nor am I say they are incompetent. What I AM saying is that the military strategists who come up with these brilliant ideas like the Gallipolli campaign ought to be at least in the general vicinity and share in the risks since, after all, they're the ones who stand to benefit the most from victory. Finally, in WWII something like over a hundred generals in the US army alone were killed in action and that didn't seem to unduly influence the course of the war since they weren't the true strategists behind the campaigns but were rather the tacticians who put into effect the broad-stroke stratagems as conceived in far off headquarters that weren't even in the same time zones of the areas of operations. So I don't see where the risk of losing a handful of generals would really be the nail in the coffin of a war effort as you seem to suggest.
@MISTAKEWASMADE4live5 жыл бұрын
@@angelod2 Politicians have lower then average IQs, and their comfy positions usually make them uncaring and disconnected to the situation on the ground, this leads to recklessness and cruelty. People who do nothing getting everything, vs people giving everything and getting nothing, how I wish this wasn't the reality we live in.

Hallo Boys! Hundredtousands of crippled Soldier on their Body and in theyr Souls because of such a unnessesary war. Who needs a war? Nobody. I could hear the Bullets around my ears and I saw the blood of dead People. It will never go out of my mind.

I love how they say "London Zeppelin Raids" when actually the germans and english had agreed not to bomb london because of its historical value.

How many people do you think died by the drip rifle They peeked and a random bullet got them
@xen0g3n5 жыл бұрын
It wasn't meant to kill anyone, just convince the Turks that someone was still in the trenches by firing intermittently. Don't forget there weren't any timers or automated systems for firing rifles, so they came up with it in the field. Worked a treat as it turns out 👍
