In Phuket, u need a comfortable 1,500 us dollars per month. In Samui, 1,200. In rural areas, 800. But if u plan on having a live in gf...or hit up freelancers... then TRIPLE all these amounts. Cuz they don't play around🤣🤣

Great advice Mark. Some of this is why I want to spend my first month in a slower area like Hua Hin. Get my Thai DL, rent my first scooter, rent my first place, and just get acquainted with things, etc. From there, either to Ko Samui and Patong Beach.

Ur not gonna like patong...im telling u right now🤣🤣 unless u luv constant loud noise, crowds and overpriced living.... and the girls will charge u 2,000baht a day for all day companion. But u can do everything w them. But if ur not there for girls, skip patong... save ur money... and do Hua Hin then places like Kata, Phuket

A Thai woman is a Thai woman🤣🤣 but if u go way out back and look in a place like Krabi or Chiang rai...u might have a slightly better chance of finding an honest woman. But overall, I think it's better to go purely transactional so that ur mind doesn't play tricks on u. These girls can make u do the phuket plunge faster than u can tie ur laces

Have a list of about 10 to 12 things you'd like to do and don't allow bars, prostitutes, women, relationship nor marriage to be on there which are guaranteed to make you broke, stress, homeless, extorted, fleeced, deported, jailed, etc... My personal list for example: 1) golf 2) health rejuvenation therapy ie; stem cell, oxygen, vitamin, etc.. 3) learn to speak thai 4) muay thai 5) tennis 6) racketball 7) road trip of entire Thailand 8) visiting Buddhist temples 9) boating to most small islands if not all 10) scuba dive the small islands 11) medecinal CBD80/THC20 combo 12) visit well known night makets through out the entire country 13) partake in all Thai cultural museum/festivals Bang thai/non-thai chicks along the way.

Sadly enough that could happen 100% that they refuse you entry or most likely what will happen is that they will say to you at some point you're going to have to get a real Visa an education Visa retirement Visa etc etc or they'll push you to get one of the 90-day or 180 day multiple entry visas... I’ve been visiting Thailand for 30+ years and all your advice is spot on! Deviate from that advice at your own risk. I will be moving to Thailand this year and still need to do more research on which visa is best for me, just like you say. You need to have other hobbies besides drinking 😮. There are so many things to do in Thailand, drinking in bars is one of the least exciting parts. I will start in Jomtien Beach and then move as needed, as I will only be renting to keep flexibility. Keep in mind on the visa thing… this is Thailand. Doesn’t matter what you need or want, money can solve everything here. Much like Mexico and some other countries. But, easier to do it right if you are able to. And yeah, speaking Thai is crucial! Do not fall in love!!! I just left a girl in Phuket that is a legit 9/10+. I have pics and vids for proof 😂 We flew there together, she bought the tix and I paid everything else. Met on tinder. Had to leave after 5 days cause I could feel it creeping in. Those emotions are dangerous

You are 100% correct you can get anything you want to with money here however as I've mentioned in some videos be very very careful who you're trusting when it comes to these Visa companies and everything I've got a friend going through it right now she's being ripped off I have seen in the news countless instances of these so-called Visa experts stealing people's passports and essentially blackmailing them to get them back

Rule 1 I’ve concluded is never accept service for any reason or any “product” if the person approaches you. If you need anything, you find a person yourself. My thoughts. 1. If you live in a country, you should, at minimum, learn the language. You don't need to be fluent, but at least be able to ask for the bathroom. 2 Don't screw around with immigration and the visa system. It shows a lack of respect towards the laws of that country. You're just a guest. Soom guest you don't want to come back for a visit. Trust me Thailand feels the same.

Agreed, #1 is definitely a point that everyone should take on board. In the process of planning my next trip. It will be back to Pattaya. The only difference will be that I'll be staying in a condo for a month not a hotel. I'll be planning a few days to Koh Samet while I'm there. It certainly isn't easy scheduling a month's leave from work, you only live once right! I'd still like to try Hua Hin at some point though.

'Khrap' is never pronounced the way it's written. (This is a truly crazy transliteration). It's always pronounced 'cup'. 'Ka' on the other hand, the word that female speakers have to insert at the end of most phrases, is usually written in English with a double a or ah, kaa or kah. The vowel here is sounded for a significantly longer time than the 'a' in the masculine form. (Or perhaps, that's how my ear perceives the tone that is used here). Learning the numbers from 1 to a 1000 in Thai once you are in the country is very useful, as well as trying to say them with approximately the right tones. It's easier to do this than most newbies would think - you'll fly through 1 to 10 in fact - and is pretty essential if you plan to travel beyond tourist centres. I still can't say 'a thousand' in Thai, however, so I revert to English for all the big numbers.

I'm on a Non O Retirement w/ multi entry from Canada. Landed 10 days ago to Jomtien. Just signed a 6 month contract, and then maybe Ao Nang. Changing my International driving license as soon as l get my passport back next week. Taking a motorcycle driving course next month. Girls Girls Girls. Once bitten.... Barracuda's. I catch fish, then throw them back. I won't keep them. Not into the bar scene, so l can use that money for more travel. Already booked a week in Koh Lipe in April. Snorkeling and diving, and maybe a few sunset beers.

But if you’re living in Thailand and you’re on a tourist visa, hasn’t an immigration officer questioned you about having a proper Visa? Tourist visa is just that, it’s temporary. Why wouldn’t you be on the retirement Visa? I’m assuming you’re over 50? I’m genuinely curious, because I’m under 50 and getting a Visa is the biggest thing that’s holding me back from moving there.

Thankfully I haven't had this issue ,,,, I certainly expect to at some point as a lot of people I know are running into it. Again keep in mind I am NOT doing the regular border jumps like a lot of people are doing where they're just going out of the country one day and coming back in the seemed a I'm leaving going on trips doing this doing that so I'm not getting a lot of grief from immigration yet!!!!! Due to tax reasons back in Canada because of the way our properties in the province that I reside in everything is double taxed once you're not living in the country so it's horrifically expensive for me to get a retirement Visa because of my tax situation back in Canada..... I will agree that getting the simple retirement Visa as a 50-year-old would be the ideal way to go about it but until I can work out everything back in Canada to minimize the impact on my taxes and everything this is basically the best way for me to go about doing what I'm doing.... Also I have permanent residency in a another country and I'm afraid that if I try to get a retirement Visa in Thailand that is going to affect my permanent residency in the other country..... So quite honestly there's a lot of reasons why I don't have the simple retirement Visa there's just no simple answer.... Lol Cheers mate 🍻

So my thought maybe my first year would be to travel around the country before settling down. So my question is instead of getting a retirement visa I would maybe use the tourist visa to my advantage. But knowing I can only stay 3 months at a time, which country is the easiest to go over to and then come back to Thailand? Hey Bob honestly mate all the surrounding countries are pretty easy to come back and forth from I love Cambodia and Siem Reap it's a great to stay and things are really cheap there the people friendly and the food is incredible.... I would use the tourist visa because again it gets you out of the country and allows you to see other places,,,, Have fun and try all the different places From what I've heard at your age you would likely enjoy Hua Hin Cheers mate 🍻

Oh brother I'm not calling you old at all I'm actually pointing out the fact that a lot of people in your age bracket Hua Hin,,,,, So much so that this old boy is going to go there in the month of March check it out for everyone and vlog from there and show people what it's honestly like living there..... You can do simple border jumps where you go to the border leave the country and come right back in but I strongly suggest going for at least 5 or 7 days because it shows the immigration officers that you're actually exploring and you are a tourist you're not just here taking advantage of the system.... These are all great points. You are absolutely right. Guys that are a 4/10 at home and can only pull 4/10 chicks end up falling easily for somebody gorgeous in Thailand because they give them attention they never had. I'd say I'm about a 7.5/10 here in the US. Definitely have a lot of flaws. And sure, maybe I could get a 9/10 in Thailand. But the chances are lower than going after somebody in my league. But with that said, even the ugly ones can screw you over. They're just less likely to. Play the game but think with the right head... or else you'll be in a world of hurt when you're missing half of your net worth one day. You can also mess with the numbers a bit. Maybe the woman is indeed beautiful but has two children and you have none. Or maybe she's 5 years older than you. These things matter and there is some equation there, lol.
