Epstein is the "curse breaker" he ended the 86 year curse of the "Babino" which he enstowed upon the Bustin' Red Sux when he was traded to the New York Yankees and they were cursed for 86 years after that. Epstein broke that curse then went to the Cubs and broke their 108 year curse in 2016 and he could be the answer to the Yankees making it to the World Series and winning again which the Yankees haven't made it to the World Series or won the World Series since 2009. The Yankees have only won 1 World Series under Cashman and it's been long overdue for The Yankees to win #28. I wouldn't replace Epstein with Boone though I'd replace Cashman with Epstein and replace Boone with either Kevin Cash or Brian Snitker of Atlanta.

I would love it if Mattingly was the manager who led the Yankees to their next world championship. This guy has been in MLB since 1982 and the fact that he has never even appeared in a World Series as a player, coach or manager, is astonishing. I don’t know if it’ll happen, but I think maybe playing for a guy who’s had so many close calls over the years in getting to the World Series but never actually getting there, could spark the Yankees with a little more motivation than they’ve had with Boone.

Mattingly would be a fan favorite, he's also got experience in the New York market that I think would help not only the young players, but the free agents too... it seems like every year we have someone that's just can't hack it in NY, but as soon as they're on another team they're fine. I would think they'd take a hard look at someone like Shelley Duncan, he seems to get the best out of his players at AAA and promoting from within is usually a good thing. I'd be OK with any of these options except Beltran though... that he can't seem to stay in a position for any length of time is concerning to me.

Good list, any of those would be good. Although another manager is useless if the team's biggest problem continues, they don't hit or make enough runs, you can't expect to go far if your team is hitting .220 collectively and you have 7 holes in the lineup

I'd love to see Jorge Posada manage. He was a team leader, he's no bullshit taken or given, straight up, take it or leave it kind of guy. He would definitely keep these guys accountable. Don't get me wrong I'd go with Donnie Baseball all day but if I have a second choice. Georgie for sure!!!

Wasn't listed here but I'd love to have Ron Washington associated with them in some capacity. Maybe not as the manager, but as one of the coaches. One of the most respected guys in the league and big part of the Braves success at the moment

What about Willie Randolph? Ex-yankee, lots of managerial experience with experience dealing with New York media. The dude for some reason has gotten hosed after he was let go by the Mets (mistake imo). I never hear his name floated around even though he helped turn that franchise around in just a couple years.

I dont want to go back to days of early Steinbrenner years of firing gm's and managers on a whim but theres zero accountability for failure in this organization anymore. Cashman has failed time and time again. He's had the job for 25 years. Enough is enough already. Boone has failed as well at manager but its Cashman who has to go byt most definitely won't. Without that necessary change we'll continue to just spin our wheels.

Good list of candidates . I agree with Don Mattingly, Joe Maddom and Graig Counsell, From this group I preffer Craig Counsell. There is another excellent candidate with proven experience in professional baseball not in the MLB but in the Puerto Rican Baseball Winter league. He has managed two teams and in both opportunities they were champions. For me he is a terrific manager. He was like a Duck William’s manager type of manager. He always made the movement of his player at the right moment.

I was thinking someone like Joe Espada, who's a former Yankee bench coach or Troy Snitker from the Astros. Guys who know about winning and could make good decisions. I'd be fine with any of the candidates mentioned in this video.

There are two men that you left off of this list. Carlos Mendoza, the bench coach. Has had to fill in when Aaron Boone has gotten ejected. Has done a good job when asked. Then, there is Shelley Duncan , the minor league manager of Scranton Wilkes-Barre, who has done an excellent job with that team. I would replace Craig Counsell and Carlos Beltran with these two men.

Jorge Oosada is an underrated option here... very competitive and won't baby the players and has a lot of game sense. Might be just me but if I were Cashman I would go for Posada

The only solution is to fire Brian Cashman. Then, whoever replaces him (Cashman) needs to fire Aaron Boone and hire Willie Randolph. The only 2 reasons why Boone still has a job are because he hit the ALCS clinching solo home run in game 7 against Boston and he (Boone) is friends with Cashman.

I'll take Joe Maddon over everyone on that list. Joe Maddon is the only one in that last that has won! He should immediately be the top candidate. When a guy takes one team to the WS, leaves and takes the next team to the WS and wins, that's how you know he's the real deal. To say Mattingly hasn't had a championship caliber roster, which has lead to his lack of results as a manager, isn't incredibly unbiased. He had very good teams with the Dodgers for many years..

What might be more interesting is if the outside consulting firm decides Cash should go signaling a total rebuild. In that case a new GM hires the manager. Who should be the new GM? Most are locked up in contracts, but one stands out to me for the job she has done with the Marlins since Jeter hired her and that is Kim Ng. Not only has she done well her contract is up this year.

Unfortunately, injuries can’t be pinned on Boone but some of the lineups were questionable. Acquisitions like Rodon and dumping, James Tiollon and Monty for lesser valued players is very questionable. I think a change is well timed but will Hal be tough or an enabler…I like Theo and Donny, very much as a next dynamic duo 🙏🏼⚾️❤️

Can't believe when Meulens was available he was passed up to hire Boone. Boy what a mistake that was. My preference would be someone from the organization. Definitely Mattingly first who we love to see brought back, Meulens, Maddon and maybe Willie Randolph is a nice possibility. Not sure if Counsel would swap uniforms and leave Milwaukee. Beltran has no experience and is forever tied to the 2017 cheating scandal.

If this were ten years ago I might be inclined to go with Maddon first but at this point in time I honestly don't think that he's really interested in coaching any longer, he doesn't project an aura of someone who is mentally/emotionally invested in the task at hand.
