Greetings from the States, and great video! I used to own a 2015 F-Type R, and it was the most fun car I'd ever owned. Loved the sound and fury, and since mine was rear-wheel drive, I could definitely get sideways with all that power, even with the nanny systems turned on. Tons of fun. I'd owned a couple 911s before it (traded a 2006 911 in on it in fact), and I remember somebody posting on a forum once comparing the two, and paraphrasing, it went something like this: "The 911 is like a scalpel, very precise. The F-Type is like a sledgehammer. And sometimes you just want to break s**t with a sledgehammer." That summed up my feelings about the F-Type perfectly. And that styling - one of the most beautiful cars ever made I think. Although, I admit I still like the older headlight style better. To me, the newer headlight style looks a little too generic. But styling is very subjective, so that's just me. Kind of disappointed they did away with a lot of the crackles and pops from the exhaust, but that's to be expected with all the environmental regulations going up around the world. Was fun while it lasted. But so glad to hear with things being taken away, they've made so many improvements in other areas. I'd definitely get another F-Type down the road. Enjoy your F-Type and keep posting - great car and video!

I pulled the trigger on a low-mile 2016 AWD R Coupe a couple months ago. You just point it and it goes ... really fast and really loud! Going through tunnels or under overpasses is comical when you drop down a couple gears and get on it. It's like hell let loose, no joke. The infotainment is definitely a bit out of date now, but I find myself entertained just driving it. It's a not-quite-rich man's supercar. In America, it's just rare and quasi-exotic enough to turn heads. If the looks don't, that exhaust note will. I freaking love it!

7:42 Great example as to why I love the British lol. But yeah, always a great channel. Expressing an equally as great topless (the way I prefer them 😉) sports car. I truly miss the true savagery that was the F-Type SVR, which to this day remains in my top 3 cars of all time. It’s engine note and it’s noises were as close to ear-orgasms as one could get. This cars styling to me looks slightly too generic. Like it’s trying to copy a Maserati. It’s still beautiful just, not quiet as “unique” as it’s predecessor. Anyway, great content my dude. Keep it up! Cheers from across the pond!

Long-time watcher, first-time poster. You're my favourite channel, Sam. Not just cars, but on KZbin. Throttle House comes a close second only because they're Canadian with a twist of English (James). The things that bug you about the car remind me of what I might miss from my [Stage 2] 2016 Golf R when/if I decide to buy a 2021 MX-5 RF. Then Top Gear comes to mind and, really, "how bad could it be?"

Great video Sam. Car looks and sounds incredible. I suppose the big question has to be does it look as good as the original F Type and I have to say my vote says no. It doesn't sound as good, although its still got something of its own, but surely the older car has to be a better option. I know that newer models do have a way of just somehow feeling like they tick more boxes so Im intrigued about what your review will be. Lake district was looking gorgeous! A beautiful car and nice to see such a positive review. As a lifelong fan of the 911, I would chose the F-Type convertible over the 911 convertible. I fail to see why any car enthusiast would ever require any form of cruise control. Eyes, brakes and an accelerator are quite enough.
@nikikonov3 жыл бұрын
Bro...I just got back home from the seaside...I drive an mx5 which has a cruise control, but it ain't adaptive...so after 4 hrs of highway my legg hurts.... its a GT car, ofc it should have an adaptive cruise, especially for that kind of money :Xx also adds to the resale value and stuff....I guess the guy can't talk too much shit so they keep giving him cars, but everybody knows the old F-type is a steal right now...the new one adds nothing to compensate the money you'd have to give :# You can't argue with that one.

Surprised Jaguar engineers overlooked the screen glare given it is a convertible. All they needed to do was put anti-glare films on the TFT display, really cheap and effective solution.

Hi Sam, great work! I am considering buying an f type coupe since I’d like some more sportiness (I am now having a db11 v12). Which one would you prefer: the old R RWD, the old R AWD, the current P450, P575 or perhaps the old V6S? All in coupe form. And by the way I know it’s very different from the DB11 and other cars I owned (a California, a Rapide, a FF, a 5.0 Mustang, a Giulia QV, an XKR 4.2, a Mas Granturismo S, among the others), but how would you compare them in terms of driving sensations? It’s a “worst” car being less expensive or forget about that? Thank you very much!!!

Hi! Have you ever thought about driving a roadcar with roof but without an A-pillar blocking your view in corners? I still haven't seen a video discussing this topic and many cars today although very rigid, structurally, have really thick A-Pillars that block your view to the point of posing a risk to the driver or a person. I think it would be really cool to discuss the topic, taking examples like the Chevrolet Corvair Tetsudo Concept, the Renault Trezor Concept. I would love to see your take on that topic. 👍✌️
