Fun to see the Accutron in the videos opening. I’ve yet to I finish watching, but I wanted to thank you for your original Bulova Accutron video from years back. This summer, I picked up a used Bulova Accutron Astronaut GMT with a black dial and silver bezel for 50 cents at a yard sale, and all it needed was a battery change when I got home. I never would have known what it was and would have passed it up if it wasn’t for your channel. I’ve had fun researching and reading about the history of the Accutron Astronaut and the A-12 and SR-71 test planes and spy missions. Thanks for all you do to spread info and love about horological. Another great video. TGV, I love how eclectic your collection is. It makes me appreciate my small and relatively affordable collection even more. Here goes: 1) Omega Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich 1861. Purchased after world conditions cancelled a milestone birthday vacation to Europe. 2) Seiko Sarb033. Bought last year after learning about it on this channel. 3) Oris TT1 Diver Date. My very first luxury watch purchase. It was a store display that I got a great discount on. 4) Seiko Sport 5 (5KX). My current daily beater. 5) Chase-Durer black steel quartz chronograph. Special Forces Air Assault Team watch. I wore this watch everyday for 13 years, though I retired it late last year.

OK - For what it's worth, my current Top 5 from my (admittedly small) collection: 1) Dan Henry 1939 silver - the first watch that really got me interested in watches and learning more. 2) Dan Henry 1970 diver - I couldn't decide on a colour way and told my son to choose for me. He did and he was right :) 3) Orient Mako 2 - First (and only) watch where I have changed out the strap, the bezel, and the bezel insert to a 12 hour version thanks to Mark and Long Island Watches. My favourite weekend watch. 4) Casio Oceanus OCW-T3000-2AJF - The first watch I hemmed and hawed over and saved up for. Glad I finally got it. 5) Christopher Ward C63 Sealander (non-GMT): Most recent acquisition and has made me appreciate watches under 40mm. Great video again TGV, can't wait to see other people's lists!

I'm trying to get my collection down to 5 watches; any more and your favorites don't get much wrist time as you rotate through your watches, or, they do and the rest gather dust. 5 is a good number according to Federico Talks Watches, too.

Thanks for another quality video TGV! I am slowly warming to Rolex and can start to appreciate the Explorer. Agree with your description of it as a watch that just knows its worth and has nothing to prove. Top 5 presently, based on recent wrist-time: 1) Panerai Radiomir (PAM 685) - The case shape is just stunning. Can't get enough of it. The engraved bezel seemed a little off-putting at first, but it makes the size just perfectly wearable and sets it apart from everything else Panerai has produced. 2) Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT (SBGE 201) - I never get tired of watching that flawlessly smooth second hand makes its way around the dial. 3) Bell & Ross BR 03 GMT Coke - For when I'm in the mood for something bold and just different. It took some time to win me over when I acquired it a few months back. 4) Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Mysterious Seconds - A unique piece. It has a bit of a high horology vibe without the "sell one's home and live under a bridge" price. 5) Zoretto Jota (black dial) - I love the vintage diver inspiration. Just a happy little watch.

Universal business casual watch for office etc. 3. Baltic Aquascaphe bronze. Well because everyone should have one bronze diver. Btw. You should check Baltic collection... and maybe review one... 😉 4. Seiko 7548-700B from my birth year 1980. I think the reason is quite clear. 5. Yema Superman GMT black-grey bezel. My current top five (based only on watches I've owned or own) would be: 1. Hamilton Khaki Mechanical - My work watch, I love the simplicity and thus ruggedness, and that it doesn't say "khaki" on the dial because I think it's a terrible name for a watch! 2. Late 80's Eterna-matic 1000. I picked up an unworn one of these this year for £250. I've only ever seen two others for sale which speaks to the "having something that other people don't" notion. It has an integrated bracelet which puts me in mind of the Tissot PRX. 3. My Longines Automatic, forget the reference but it's a gold dress watch and was the first Swiss watch I ever bought, it was also my first automatic - purchased on my first trip to Switzerland. It will always hold tremendous sentimental value for those reasons. 4. The Casio A159W. Not the 158, the 159 - which is basically the same except it has a stainless bracelet and the whole thing is manufactured in Japan. My first ever watch was an F91w and this I consider to be a grown up version of it. 5. Rolex Oyster Perpetual. I owned a 36mm Explorer for a while too, but I love simplicity in design and for me the OP is the perfect Rolex.

All are on this list as they remind me of special times in my life-my appointment to the bench, a quiet Christmas, my 20th Anniversary, a vacation watch, and a remembrance of my parents. It is less about the features of the watches, and more about the times. I hope you are well. Best-David

Excellent video, TGV! My son and I loved watching Hugo again. He has been missed! Flighty is forever and always going to be in the Top Watches list. It is a legend unto itself. It’s worth the GHASTLY retail asking price 🤣😂🤣. I also got my current one from Marc at Long Island Watch! The Breitling has always pulled my heartstrings too. Being a pilot it is truly special! Your point about Navitimer/Speedmaster is spot on. I have always been attracted to the Navitimer and I truly appreciate the brand. Building on the story of the Navitimer, I hope to get a Sinn 903, as it is unique and is interesting to tell the story of why it exists and it’s parallel with the Navitimer. Love the DW290….I just bought 4! One for each of my family members. My wife and I use ours for diving, my daughter uses it as a beach, workout watch, and my son….well. It is hard to pry his off due to the NASA connection. I too truly think that the Explorer is the real “Bond” watch….I have said many time, that Bond’s real watch would have definitely been and Explorer….it is what Fleming wore and the only watch he referenced in the novels was a Rolex with “ large luminous numerals on the dial”….point made. I prefer your Omega over any modern piece although the new Constellation tempts me, as does the teak dial AquaTerra. My Squale 30 Atmos in Marina Blue is my favorite watch of all time as well…..so I guess I will give you my top 5 as you asked ….here goes. 1. Squale 30 Atmos Marina Blue……my favorite piece …..absolutely exquisite on a grey pebble leather strap…was an anniversary gift from my wife. 2. Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angels…… an extremely personal piece due to receiving it as I prepared to leave the Navy and begin another chapter in my life….was with me through every second as a flight student and instructor….almost 20 years old and still wonderful 3/4. Steinhart Pepsi GMT…..received when I upgraded at my airline…the correlation between PanAm and the reason for the GMT existing and that step in my career makes it especially values. The fact that the Pepsi GMT style in many variations has been worn by many of my heroes is a bonus. 4/3 Certina DS Action Diver Sea Turtle Conservancy Special Edition PowerMatic 80.. Truly unique and special watch. Now that it has been superseded by a new version makes it even more rare. Nearly unattainable in the US it is my watch that just screams ME….there are flaws, as there are always….it needs screws instead of split pins…..but that is the only one I can think of. Truly important as it marked a huge milestone in my life. 5. Dan Henry 1937 or 1972 Chronograph….I adore both for polar opposite reasons style wise. They both provide me with the pure enjoyment of the hobby from different ends of the aesthetic and design spectrum. Truly epic. I love all my pieces and to quantify which beats another is unnervingly difficult…..but these five are truly great for me Wear what you love! Be well! Thank you, TGV. My entire family enjoyed this video. Keep doing what you are doing. It is a welcomed and anticipated joy with each new production. Onward and upward, my friend! PS My sons favorite 5 Orient Mako Blue. …. First auto. Gift from Mom and Dad Casio DW290 Casio Calculator Watch Casio Worldtime Casio DW6900 inherited from Dad…..Casio fan much?

TGV, like always I never get enough of your videos. It is a mix of fun and horology knowledge. Thanks for this. From my collection I will pick my top 5 favorites: 1. Glycine Base 22 SS, this was tool watch (just before the pandemic started) as I used to travel along APAC. It design is simple yet gorgeous. 2. Omega Seamaster Omegamatic, the bezel design was what caught my attention of this particular watch plus the cyclops and the "kinetic" movement. 3. Seiko UC-3000, I saw this one a year ago and I knew I had to get it. It was the technology behind (ahead of time in 1984) what attracted me. 4. Tudor Hydronaut 2 (20040), the uncommon bezel design played again with me and I just got it when had the opportunity. It is a very comfortable with a sport/dress aura on it which I love. 5. Hamilton Super Compressor: I have always like the vintage divers (I just acquired a Bulova SeaHunter 1000m), and the Hamilton dial/inner bezel contrast was my decision maker over other Super Compressor options.

Several months ago I came across your channel and it re-kindled my interest in mechanical watches. I went thru my dresser drawers and found an old Fortis men's watch from the 60's and had it serviced. I was hooked. My watchmaker had a 50's era Oyster and I bought it on the spot. Then I found Marc thru your channel and now have an Islander ISL-74. Then I went a little off kilter and got my wife a date just and two for me. Now I go to estate sales and search for vintage watches and have found many, including a 18k Cartier tank watch mixed in a bag for $11. My wife liked that and is giving me fewer dirty looks for my obsession. Thanks

The Tudor Pelagos, i love the tool feel to it. 4. My Longines 24 hours. It’s a big chunky elegant watch and i love that. 5. Longines Legend Diver and my Omega Seamaster 300.

As I have only have a small watch collection I can only give a top 3 (i am only in my infantcy in terms of this hobby of collecting and have made 1 or 2 low budget purchase mistakes early on that i have now come to regret. Though it is all a part of the learning journey and finding out what makes a quality watch and what my own personal collecting style is. My current top 3 in no particular order are: 1. Casio g-shock 5610-1er - I really like the rugged feel, the build quality, function and atomic time keeping so i can set my other watches to it - plus solar power so no need to worry about chaning battery 2. Citizen Nighthawk - blue angels bj7006-56l - Love the eco-drive set and forget so works well as a daily driver. I have friends in a different time zone so the GMT is useful too. I love the complicated yet easy to read dial 3. Orient Ray II (Blue dial) - I think at the moment my favourite style of watch is a 200m diver (not that i dive) but i love the presence on the wrist that a diver gives and the sunburst dial when it catches the light is just amazing.

Love Seiko but I’m always surprised by the lack of Grand Seiko videos out there, snowflake being a grail for me. Also I noticed the Dan Henry and it reminded me of the Junghans Telemesiter that I adore. Any thought on doing a video on Ketelaars? Time in Motion. Is truly a work of art. Also, keep up with your walking! After my bout of pneumonia after Covid I can truly sympathize with your condition/plight. Good luck!

These intos are on another level...i need a movie on hugo trashing "richard mille" 😅. I bought a dan henry 1964 from basically only your recommendation...2 years ago. It has been on my wrist every single day, and its pure class.

Great to see Hugo, missed him. Such a character. I’d still like to know how it went for him after going back to 1970’s in DeLorean for cheap Rolexes.

Haha that was a classic! He was in the last episode with Marc (affordable vs luxury), sometime he pops up randomly in the middle of a video too. I will pass along your kind sentiments to him, the egotistical maniac will appreciate it. Thank you Jane, Best regards, TGV

TGV, in regards to your question I'm fairly new to the watch world, I cannot even choose my top 5 (yet) but I can tell you that I really like the Omega Moonwatch, Squale 1521, Casio DW290 (which I own) and my little Seiko SK809 which I bought in my birthday early this year as my first official watch.

Do you get Rotary watches your side of the pond, and if so, what do you make of them? I have 4 and they are not expensive. My favourite is an Aquaspeed which is an homage to the Breitling and your own Seiko Flighty. It has a 200 Mt's water resistance and screw down crown and pushers for the chrono functions. It also has the second crown to rotate the inner bezel and a blue face with mixed polished and brushed bracelet with push button deployment clasp plus extra security clasp. I got it 7 years ago from my mum for my 40th birthday although they can be picked up now for around £150 she paid £200 at the time as they had just come out. I need to get mine serviced and a new battery, but it really is stunning.

TGV may I ask you to recommend a replacement strap for my Casio DW290 Mission Impossible watch? I had ordered an 18MM Tropical Rubber Strap from Barton but the excess rubber at the connect point will not let it snap into place. I would like your suggestion based on what will actually work and connect to the watch head? Many thanks, Brian

Always great to hear of your stories and connections to your favorite pieces. Inspires me to reflect on my own collection. I do notice that I go through periods of merely, wearing watches, rather than truely experiencing them consciously, and thinking about how I enjoy them and why. King regards, Dean. - Seiko Flighty - Seiko Samauri - Seiko Alpinist - Casio G Shock G5600E - Rolex Explorer

Loved the video, TGV. Interesting choices! To answer one of your questions, I'm in the Speedy camp. To honor your other request, my top 5 are the Speedmaster, Seiko SLA047, Dan Hodge custom chronograph he called "Sprint" (he made one), Dan Hodge 1968 diver (he made 3), and the 5th would have to be my gen 1 Seiko Black Monster, which was a gift from my wife and my first auto. Cheers!

I have an SLA021 that I love on the MM300 rubber strap, but, I also love the steel bracelet. I've come to the conclusion that I must have 2, one on the rubber and one on the bracelet, but, I don't like to repeat myself, so, I'm looking at getting either the SLA047 or the SBDX025, the blue-gray ceramic bezel and sunburst dial.

Great video! Watches I would wear: Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 mm. Never tried it on my wrist yet, but I have a good feeling. Longines Hydroconquest (2021 new blue version) Casio Vintage A700WE-1AEF Tissot Chronograph XL with green dial And one of these (just can’t pick one): Tudor Heritage Chrono, Breitling top time, Stratonwatch, Autavia Heuer or Tissot Heritage 1973.

The navitimer is my favorite watch of all time, and has been so since I started collecting watches. I love my speedmaster as well, and have considered buying additional versions of the speedy. So yes TGV, there are people who love both watches dearly :)
