This house is a complete rebuild of the original that burned to the ground in 1998. It is why the interiors are not complete. I grew up 5 minutes from this house and use to ride my bike passed it often. The owner was Dovie Beams De Villagran. She was the mistress of the President of the Philippines. Emelda did not own it. Dovie lost it all in bankruptcy. She owned over 20 homes back in the 80's. The grounds are original as the fire did not destroy it. The property sold back in 1987 for 3.5 million in bankruptcy court.

I live in the area also. Whenever I take family or friends on a tour of Pasadena and San Marino I always include this Mansion along with the history that you posted. I remember hearing that during the 1990s the gardener bill alone was $5,000 a month.

Some of the family go to the house almost every day to watch little bits of construction, tight-knit family. One of the largest single family homes at 68,000 square feet. Filmed a commercial there a few years ago and it looked like this with all of the rooms empty, but It might be done by now.
