Salt and Pepper, Butter 👍👍 milk 🥛 is definitely something I would have hard time doing without. 2 weeks without buying any food is amazing.

Salt and pepper is allowed. Milk is tough! That might be my only expense this month! We'll see how far we go. Cheers!

Start planning now. Figuring out what your love, and planting accordingly, makes all the difference. Having animals sure helps too! Let us know how we can help. It's a great challenge! Cheers!

Great job guys the halfway point is almost here. We took a slightly different approach to some things this year but it really makes you think and what we learned last year has helped a lot with planning this year

It'll be fun to watch your progress and the thoughts you have to share. You all do such a great job of canning and preserving that I doubt you'll have any issues. Have a great week!

Nice job If everyone ate like this all year, we’d be so much healthier. I was so sick the beginning of Feb I didn’t video anything. Looking forward to more updates

Sounds like it is going well! We did spend money upfront this year. Our month has been so busy with farm work that we knew time was limited. Inside of grinding our wheat this year we bought flour. We also bought a “luxury” vegetable item….. I grew a lot of these but they were all gone. 🤔 Take care.

Sometimes you just need to spend to make the month work. We will see if we can go all month just on what we have canned, preserved, etc. I hope you'll do a mid-month update so we can see your progress. Cheers Annette & Glen!

Doing just fine despite Alex making that Alfredo the other day. I’ll have some in March. I did spend $6 on celery and fresh mushrooms the other day.

I'm here from your ham playlist. I use the term "as self-sufficient as we can be." Just my wife and I grow all our veges on a close to 3000 s/f garden (about 25 kinds not including varieties). We have chickens for eggs and some eventual meat. Buy local grass-fed beef (a half every other year), a local pig (pork) and organic raw milk from the farm around the corner ($4/g.) Wife shops very little for food and she makes all kinds of things herself (soaps, shampoo/conditioner bars, laundry detergent, toothpaste, cheese, infusions, salves and more). One of my major parts in the game is cutting all our wood (heat) from taking trees down, limbing, winching, bucking, stacking etc. Thankfully all available on our property. Earliest seedlings already started indoors. (We're inland Maine). It's a lifestyle of work, but we feel blessed.

You're doing a great job of being self sufficient! I need to find a source of milk. We've got the pork, beef and chicken source. I need to look into cheese and other things. Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!
