Hi Nadine Another beautiful video. Thankyou. I walked the Camino Frances in 2022 and 2023. One tip I would add which I found very useful in the albergue is a small keylight which I wore on a cord around my neck. Very useful for moving around dorms at night and using toilets. Very small beam but enough to see by.

I readily admit you are a more experienced Camino walker than me. However I would agree with approx. 45 or so of your points. Thank you Nadine! I have attempted the Camino this year and had to return home due to a viral sickness so I am a bit hesitant to even think about it again. I have unfollowed most of the channels I used to follow on the topic but you resonate with me. The last few tips are a god send !

I'm so sorry that your Camino was cut short, and I can understand that Camino-related content would be hard to consume. But I'm so happy that you were able to enjoy this video, and that the last tips especially were ones that resonated. I hope- if the Camino is still calling you- you'll be able to return!

@NadineWalksАй бұрын
Yes, that's a great tip, to play by your own rules. I try to walk every step of the way when I can, and prefer to... but it was a big lesson for me to learn that it was okay if I didn't or couldn't!

I am flexible since I am retired. I am a fair weather gal, so can't take a lot of the heat. My preface is late September or early October. I also joined the American Pilgrims as recommended. It would be nice speaking with someone in my age group and fitness level on which path is best for a newbie.

0:46 Fellas, be careful taking pictures of other people’s undies hanging on a clothes line. Just sayin’. 😂😮 Further tips: 51) plan as part of the trip to go to Finesterre (the highlight of seeing the ocean after doing the Frances is amazing); 52) electrolytes, 53) eat lots of fish; Spain has high quality fish and its anti-inflammatory; especially good fish at tapas bars. 54) don’t automatically go for the ‘pilgrim’s menu’; take a look at the ‘normal fixed price’ menu, 55) the best snack is trail mix, not ultraprocessed cookies or even fruit; nuts/seeds have more nutrients per ounce of weight, and healthy fat, which is what you need on trail for concentrated calories and to stave off hunger. 56) eye mask and ear plugs are a must. Even in private rooms you never know what random noises could happen at night (roosters, trains, dogs barking). Nice video Nadine. You can always add to this one. Hopefully it gets a 100k+ views. 👍
@johnbutler8998Ай бұрын
I normally agree with everything that comes out of Nadine's mouth ... but not the bit about large quantities of cheap wine in the middle of the day being a bad idea! The messages about needing much less than you realise and being much stronger than you realise are the two most important to me :)
