I’ll have to take a look at it again. I found out after this video came out that this is not the factory carb. Someone fitted this one up so I’ll see what I can do to make this one work for the time being. The carb on it right now is a Marvel Schebler.

I think these will be a fun project. Really wanting to put one of them to work around the property. Yea it’s nice to have the size but mowing yards all summer and then spending 3 hours on this one weekly is daunting haha. Hope all is well your way 🤘

Hey Alex. I probably got just as excited as you when you started it and even drove it. Just to let you know my old Gravelys have a zenith carb and don't have any rubber seats. I think your carb is the same way. Great job so far👍

That’s good to know. I just never encountered a needle/seat setup like that so I wasn’t sure. Seemed to seal just fine, but I just didn’t have anything to go off from. Haha right it was great to hear it fire up and go through some gears. I’m super happy to get this far.

Ol Blue sounds pretty good for its age. Good to get the gear train moving again on its own power. To bad they hacked the hood up to put the chevy alternator on. At least todays video answered alot of questions about the functions of the tractor! Goodluck and have fun with this project Alex.🚜👍🇺🇸 Roger

Yea the hood hacked up really is a bummer. I’m not sure I could repair it to looking perfect again, but I’m thinking when I sand it down to paint I’ll at least clean up and square the edges. I’m excited to hear it come to life and yea the trans feels good so far. I’m excited for these machines.

Yes they have a heck of a low range on these. I have the weights on the rear and it helps a lot with pulling.

If you need to you can run it without the fuel pump. Just not up any steep hills. Fuel pump kits may still be available but the last time I tried to look for them the kit was a new fuel pump. There's a bunch of different styles of those vacuum fuel pumps on line. Might want to get in touch with a tuber called "I save tractors". They have a huge inventory for old engines of all types. Even the onans. Good luck!!
@freedommowers420
@freedommowers420 2 жыл бұрын
Yes “I save tractors” has a lot of great support/parts for the community. I really enjoy his channel as well. I think the pump will be good for now, but in the future if needed I can also use a Briggs fuel pump worst case. I’m just really happy to hear it run after years of sitting.

That’s music to a Sears guys ears lol wow that’s pretty sweet Alex glad you got it running! That doesn’t look to be the stock LME carb that came on these Sears so hopefully there’s a number or code on that carb. Ya I’m not understanding the alternator setup, the regulator might have burned out? And that lever on the left side of the frame is the parking brake, that should be forward to be off. Great series so far!

Thank you very much for the continued tips. I’ll go out today and see what I can find for info on the carb that is on it currently. I’m thinking the same on the charging system. I’ll check some more things out on it to see if I can get some info.
