$500 Junk Yard 5.3 LS First Start in my 71 C10 - Reworked Factory Harness and HP Tuners

The truck finally made some noise! It's always a huge milestone hearing a project car run for the first time. I'm finally in the home stretch on this c10 build. My cheap fuel system worked like a charm, now I need to wire everything up properly so it's operated by the key. Lots and lots of odds and ends before this short box is rolling down the street. Up next is cooling system, brake system and a custom drive shaft. Maybe even some paint? who knows.
The motor is a stock 5.3 from a 2000 Silverado. Unlocked with HP tuners and kept the stock tune. I used the factory accessories with a shorter belt to eliminate the power steering. Kept the stock truck oil pan and raised the motor a few inches with home made motor mounts. Factory manifolds were used and piped into some 3 inch mufflers. A cheap Ebay in tank fuel pump was used to feed the injectors. This was a very simple but effective swap.

I asked you about the fuel lines because my 57 Chevy Panel caught on fire from the alcohol gas damaged the fuel filter o rings. We saved the truck. Because the tank is in the cab I was concerned. Thanks for the videos you guys are great.

Seal all is awesome stuff. I fixed a dripping gas leak on a tank with it. Held the seal all on my finger onto the hole where the gas was dripping from and it stopped it.

I have a 2000 GMC jimmy SLE with a 4.3 I put a comp performance cam in..it would barely run turns out I pinched the intake gasket putting it back together...I felt so stupid..it ran like a dream when that was fixed right

Have a 67 C10 love the way it drives. Other than the granny low + 3 speed noisy. So I've been thinking about changing it to automatic. But my frame is a little sketchy. So I've been thinking about LS and frame swap together. Just like the way it drives now. Don't know if I'm ready for the LS bandwagon yet.

Did you delete the maf sensor? If thats not plugged in, it will run funny. I changed the intake gaskets on my lm7 5.3, and it ran like crap afterwards. Took about 20 minutes of driving before it was back to normal. Thinking that it has to go through drive cycles to relearn or something? Anyway, great video as always.
