I am with you Dan. Never cut them off especially in a rest area parking lot. My luck the new ones would be the wrong fan belts and then I would be stranded there. Plus a keep the old ones in my truck for backup. Keep up the videos!

I live very close to a major Southeast port city and have to drive near the Port Authority Terminal areas often. I see a lot of very poorly maintained and poorly operated trucks coming off I-95 and or entering I-95, and the connecting city streets and residential areas. Loose loads moving around, even containers with the securing pins not engaged. Your professionalism is very noticeable and very appreciated by me. Thank you for presenting and representing a completely different picture than what some of us see daily in the trucking industry.

I hope that you do not think this is a stupid question yet before you roll out of the rack do you do any back exercises ? With the activity that you do, your back takes a beating. Feel free to tell me MYOB yet you have a crew following you that is also concerned about the hours that you put in and your health. If you could train Bailey to help you roll out a tarp then that would be a movie !

Work comes first. I know how bad it is tying stuff down, owned and ran a heavy haul low bed for 10 years, it sucks some time. Keep that Pete running, good truck there.

As an addendum . I’m not sure how much folks appreciate truckers . I was southbound out of Belton , Texas on Tuesday and there was a fatality wreck NB on IH 35. The tie up stretched from Salado to Belton .For some reason I started counting trucks backed up for 11 miles and after counting 315 , I stopped counting. That was 18 wheelers alone. Be safe. Carry on.

Just a question for the flatbedders here . With the green pipes that were moving , would it have been feasible to run a couple straps under that bundle , then over the top and tie the 3 stacks together while still using the other straps to anchor to trailer ? Essentially making the 3 stacks of piping one unit so to speak .

Yep, back in the day, I hauled plenty of fire brick and other refractory products. I delivered many loads to US Steel. Sometimes they need it badly and they would have you drive up onto the pouring floor with ladles flying around and sirens wailing. Some things you just don't forget. And I would have not cut the belts off either.

For the record I said not to cut. If you cut and have the wrong belt you can't drive to the store and get a new one or go to work the next day until you can get the right part or fix a stripped bolt or whatever. Once you cut you're committed.

We like watching you do stuff... Man the questions you get from people. The Americans who always are wanting a short cut. America land of super rich Astronauts and the others short cutting there way thru life. Lol There’s no free lunch or Santa Claws!! I would think you would want to keep a set just in case your out and lose a belt or maybe a couple of belts? If you took the advise of the viewers you might not know how to put them on and get back running. Thanks Dan be safe.

I make you right on the fan belts. They are shorter at the start of their life, so I would think everything you undo to get them off has to be undone to replace them unless you are really going to lean on a tensioner pulley. So what's the issue?
