Everyone always talks about Varg and Euronymous when really Dead was the saddest part of the story of Mayhem.
@ansari822523 күн бұрын
Definitely, Euronymous had it coming. Varg losing 21 years of his life, over this loser is pretty sad too though. As is the inferior vocals that ended up on the de mysteriius record.

He'd be age 54 next month. Definitely marched to his own drum. A drum which was covered in blood,bones,dirt and smelled like decomp. Had he lived I wonder if these morbid ways,beliefs would be replaced with some normalcy as he matured. Never seen a 30,40 or 50 year old living as he did. He was absolutely gorgeous physically

Dead and I were born in the same month. Not just that, but our birthdays are close to each other, too! His birthday is January 16th. My birthday is January 21st. He would be 54. I am 21. Also, I have heard that some people said that he had Cotard's Delusion. I have also heard that other people say that he may have autism (undiagnosed). I can see what people mean by undiagnosed autism because I do have autism (I was diagnosed, of course, at age two). There are a few things that I have heard that make me think he may have autism (I see some traits that I have that he also has--Some of the stuff I have heard him say, are kind of random (or at least, what other band members have quoted), he has topics he really likes to talk about (more than a "normal" person would talk about something), he seemed kind of quirky and awkward, too). He also suffered trauma when he was younger, which made him obsessed with dying. I don't know how much he would have recovered from that. I hope he would have matured more (from trying to be a corpse, starving himself, etc...), and got the help that he needed, if he lived longer. Also, I thought that he was very good looking! Also, I am not diagnosing him. I am just saying what I have heard, and from what I have observed. He is a complete mystery. An enigma. R.I.P., Dead.

The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It’s not desiring the fall; it’s terror of the flames. And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling. -David Foster Wallace

Dead’s suicide is so heartbreaking I tear up every time I hear it. I know that if he was still alive he would have made an even bigger name for himself and had gotten so much popularity especially in the metal community. I’ve seen people use that album cover on shirts and other merch and sell them online and I want to know peoples opinion on it. I feel like the people that but these shirts forget that this isn’t some art work made by an artist like a Cannibal Corpse album cover this was a real person who committed suicide. This is his real suicide on picture that people paste onto a shirt and make money off of. To me that is the most heart breaking thing of all. We all know Dead always felt like a walking corpse and never truly felt human but to see people wearing his suicide and profiting off of his death it feels like a huge disrespect to Dead not just as a member of Mayhem but as a person. Does anyone have any opinions on the shirt or own it?
The damage he did the self harm makes me sick so sad pelle seemed to have hated his existence

Dead is super good-looking in my opinion. He is up there on my list, along with Chuck Schuldiner (Death), a young Jeff Loomis (Nevermore), a young Warrell Dane (Nevermore), Cliff Burton (Metallica), Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth), a young Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains), a young Dimebag Darrell (Pantera), a young John Tardy (Obituary), and Joe Duplantier (Gojira). Also, Dead and I were born in the same month. His birthday is January 16th. My birthday is January 21st.

Excellent video but I want to clarify something. When he was beaten up by bullys his spleen had ruptured and was clinically dead for a few minutes. Other than that it was a great documentary and I'm glad you made this video because greatness should not be allowed to die. As for Euronymous, not only did he fall victim to his own ego, but he had many delusions of grandeur. Also a poor excuse of a business man and a terrible leader. Don't feel bad for speaking ill of him. He deserves the negativity.
@ESEJESEJ Жыл бұрын
He deserves it indeed. However, a good thing to say, is that he, despite everything, was a really talented musician.

@@ESEJESEJFor real. He was a visionary. He was young and stupid as well. So were Varg and Dead. Its really a shame that they went to such extremes as ending lives. I feel like this is the only KZbinr that handled Pele’s death in a respectable way the other KZbinrs that I’ve watched, cover, mayhem and dead specifically they’ve all made not outwardly disrespectful comments, but for example, the guy that I was watching, he said that dead yeeted himself now I understand you’re not allowed to kill on KZbin but yeet is such a disrespectful term to use when you’re talking about suicide you could’ve said he unalive himself. It just really pisses me off.

I believe you've done a pretty good job on this & the stories are well known by fans . one thing still remains a bit of a mystery which is his suicide letter ,he speaks of being in the woods when he first tried to cut himself but he mentions the blood was coagulating so he went into the house ,wrote the letter & took the gun to finally end his life . If he were in the house why would it have been so cold his blood coagulated so i believe he was outside when this all began . What Aarseth did was unforgivable & disgusting ,a slam to Pelle & his family . I find the most accurate accounts of how Pelle was is in the stories you hear from his brother who still has to live with that photo of his brother exploited for money . Truth is Pelle was the real deal & he did have many troubles he never got help with & he may have not wanted it i don't know, but had he we would have seen the rise of one hell of a front man & he was a very good artist if you like scary as hell drawings & his lyrics were off the charts. We will never know his real potential but what he left was as dark as dark gets & it what was what he felt. Shame this band spent more time killing themselves & burning churches which served no point other than shock & just plain vandalism for fun than just making their music & doing what any band would do & that's to make it , they made it but in the worst way & for any fans we all got the short end of the stick . I will give some credit to YT posters that have taken the old recordings & demos & re did them with Pelle's vocals which is pretty cool & as close as we'll get to hearing what may have been. RIP Pellle & much sympathy to his brother who must live with all the grief left behind. Thanks for not dwelling on the lame ass film & the book ,it's not the story those that were there will accept as anything but shit. Mayhem then is not the Mayhem of today , that's for damn sure but at least they try & carry on. We will not again see the likes of DEAD & his talent for Black Metal nor what Mayhem would have accomplished with DEAD had he gotten help he so desperately needed.

15:09 Not true, Euronymous didn't decide to make that photo the cover of their next album. That's a myth. Euronymous later sent this picture he took of Dead being dead to some friend over the seas in Canada for some reason (maybe he sold it?), and that friend decided to put it as a cover of a live bootleg recording he issued in 1995 (and not their next album, this happened 4 years after Dead's death). How can you mess up something like that? :D The pieces of Dead's skull he allegedly have to make neklaces to gift to bands he admired, were later revealed to be chicken bones, I'm not sure about this, but so I heard...

he could not have been more beautiful. it's too bad that his parents were checked out, as well as his friends, and his friends' parents. Per actually did like cats! and i have totally buried Halloween costumes as well. so, i don't think he had that disease. i think he was a very gentle, misunderstood soul, who was probably schizophrenic and/or bipolar. if one person had noticed.."Lords of Chaos" was great! absolutely not true that Mayhem was against the film! they made a bunch of money, and are touring again because of that movie. no, the main dissenter was fucking Varg..just having a fit over a Jewish actor playing his part..ooooohhhh i was SOOO happy when i heard who the actor was, then Varg's reaction. one last thing: how is he out of jail?? like, what do you have to DO in Norway to get a real sentence?? and he was having a blast in there! he did a couple of albums, had a computer, tv..very posh. and when he escaped and was caught with ammo and explosives, they just added a year. that he didn't serve. Per couldn't help himself. my son is 24 and he's an idiot! All of it is so tragic..super happy Varg didn't get to tour! not in my country! HE is a true psychopath. i didn't really like Until the Light..because it was him yapping about himself, and the description of Oystein's death was recited with absolutely zero human emotion. he's nothing.
