This is a story 55 years in the making as we reunite U.S. Navy Airman Michael E Robinson with his long lost half filipina daughter Michelle Robinson who was separated from her father way back in 1969. Michael was told his family had perished in a typhoon and so for 55 years believed his daughter was dead, until The Leah and Blair Slog tracked him down and told him she was still alive! This is the very emotional reunion at the Airport in Cebu, Philippines where they were reunited once again after 55 years! - Also watch til the end so you will see Mike visit his wifes grave, a very touching moment.
I salute this this former Vietnam Veteran Airman at 75 he's is so brave to travel a lonely 21 hour flight from the United States to the Philippines to finally reconnect with his long lost daughter. After 55 years, not even knowing she was still alive, the red cross had told Michael E Robinson his wife Teresita and daughter Michelle had probably perished in Typhoon Viola in 1969. Many fathers would have said just let the past be the past, but not this former Vietnam veteran, as soon as I finally found him and told him his daughter was alive his first words to me were, "Looks like I better come back to the Philippines then".... I told him his wife had died, but Michelle his daughter was alive and living with her daughter Rosie, a granddaughter he didn't even know existed. Reunited at the airport in the Philippines, this is the emotional story of a proud military man answering his call of duty!!

We are helping Filipino's find their long-lost biological fathers from the United States, usually they are American ex former military Airmen or Navy Sailors who were once stationed at Clark Airbase or Subic Bay Naval Base.
DNA testing using Ancestry DNA Test Kits proves to be very helpful in locating family members, we will continue on this journey of finding long lost loved ones with your continued support. The Amerasians of Olongapo and Angles City need our help in reuniting them with their American Military Fathers.

Without delay, even in his weakened state, he traveled alone to see his long-lost daughter and gave respect to his departed wife. A proud yet humble man. It is important for his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to see the man he is. They come from good stock, and they always need to lift their heads high as they know where they come from. God bless Leah and Blair!

I was in a bus stop in South Carolina and a man (Vietnam veteran) ask me if I am from the Philippines. He told me, with teary eyes, that he had to leave his wife in the Philippines because he didn't have $800 (?) to bring her back to the US. I believe, the US government required that $800. How could the US government deny that to its soldiers?

I love the work that you do, Blair & Leah. It takes a lot of compassion from your hearts for these families to do this kind of work - reuniting families, amidst the demands of raising a family. In answer to your question, as was the experience of my family, it's a yes. Children of Americans are Americans, by blood, no matter the country where they were born. Even when the parent has died, the children are American citizens. The application though, for children of a deceased parent is much trickier. Many children have been denied the approval of the citizenship because of wrong answers. There is need for documentations to prove as the child/children of an American. Still, yes, the children are Americans by blood - just without any citizenship document to show. I am always touched by the longingness of these children for their parents, no matter how old they have become. And I sigh a relief, with tears, for every reunion that became especially possible by your work and by a parent's willingness to recognize the child. I salute Sir Robinson for his service to our country. Unique and apart from other servicemen or Americans who have children in other countries, he loved his wife and had very good intentions to take care of them and raise his family. No matter the gap of missing years, his love came full circle. You are an officer and a gentleman. For you, Sir, to have travelled all the way, is a very honorable act. Children left behind only long to know who their parents are, know where they came from, and long to let their parents know that they are alive or have been born. They have grown old and don't really expect much, as the children have lived their own lives by then, simply thriving in pain and sorrow. So, for you, Sir, to have taken steps beyond recognizing your child, makes me prouder of you as a true American soldier. God bless you all.

I did not get to watch the beginning of this journey. Whatever happened in the past years of them being apart he still is an “ officer and a gentleman” looking back to the times where it all started. I got teary eyed when he is trying so hard to climb that steps in his conditions accompanied by a heartwarming music. At last he get to see where his wife laid to rest. I am happy for the family the reunion truly happened. It is not too late to start somewhere, i am happy that you found each other. If the daughter was born in Military base like the U.S. Naval Base in Olongapo City with an American father she is automatically a US citizen. While your Dad is in the Philippines process all the necessary legal documents acknowledging you as a US citizen. To the dad.. Thank you for your service Sir…❤️🇺🇸

Thank you for your service, It must be so hard and difficult times for you and your family. An airman is for the US Air Force, and a soldier is for the U S Army and the Marines. He is a Vietnam Vet in the U S Navy as his top hat pertains he is, so he is a Seaman. As I see it, he served in Vietnam. Love the story as a happy ending.

Thankful this family was united after 55 years. Emotional but rewarding to see this proud solider stand tall in spirit...i. literally saw a 10 feet man watching him. The spiritual part of our existence is created by GOD to be eternally strong. ❤ Blessings I pray to GOD for this soldier and his family via JESUS.
