Very easy to defeat using a shim also. Many years ago I had one that used a spring on each side and each spring was on a different level. Take care my friend.

Warded locks do have a place. Because they are so simple, they are fantastic for low-security use in areas where a lock might get gummed up by sand, corrosion, etc. I live in central New Mexico, and they are great for things like side gates where the face is low enough to jump. Or in the garage where my workshop is, so things don't get gummed up by the sawdust/metal dust.
