He may not even be the best HS Wrestler...at his weight. That's...AMAZING to say. The kids now are just...different. This kid is special though and I'd probably bet on him being the top kid from his class! Not saying anything one way or the other about him, just how insanely talented these HS kids are now. Specialization. I don't love it, but it's paying dividends for the elite of the elite.

This blows my mind. The level between high school and college is crazy but then from high school to a national champ is even more insane. And to see this literally kid that’s not even close to physically developed just tech a natty champ is insane.
@lclement047 ай бұрын
I don’t think his body will change that much. He might not look as “physically developed” but I assure you he’s strong. I predict he stays very similar body size from now til the end of his career.

@@lclement04 Bruh I know he is freakishly strong now but that isn't how the human body works. He is going to gain more muscle as he ages, that is pretty much a guaruntee. He can try to stay at the same weight by cutting, but to say his body is done changing as a high schooler is nigh impossible.

That was very impressive, but I keep thinking that they have changed the rules to make it so much easier to score these days. When I used to wrestle many years ago, a takedown was 1 point, a roll 2 points (and two points against you if you rolled over your own back - which they don't care about anymore) and a high amplitude throw was 3 points. Now a simple takedown is 2, and they have 4 and, I believe, 5 point moves. The first move here, for which he was given 4 points would have been only 2 back in my day. With these new scoring rules you will see a lot more scoring but also more upsets and quick matches like this. A wrestler can make a couple of mistakes and it's over. Makes it more exciting to watch, but maybe they should find a middle ground, like not awarding more than 3 points for any move. I can't wait to watch the Olympics to see how it plays out.
@daricklapaglia43377 ай бұрын
agreed. i think going back to the best 2 out of 3 periods system would make the matches more competitive.
