usually "bypass" filters do a higher micron scrubbing of the oil and then return it to the sump (secondary filter). as far as i know, they don't turn the filter into a full flow filter if it gets caked up with sludge. regular oil filters (primary) are usually a lower micron, hints why the oil gets so dark from carbon. check out Amsoil and Blackstone Laboratories for more info. Fleetgaurd is a Cummins product, readily available at any semi-truck dealership or shop

This is NOT a bypass filter. This is a remote set up. The filter has a high micron rating while also having a high volume flow rating. Could be why the price is so expensive for one. I’m aware that fleetgaurd is a Cummins product. It may be helpful to rewatch the video to get a better understanding of the set up.

At no point do I say it’s a bypass set up. I talk about the incredible micron rating and flow rating of the filter. And how it’s superior to that of the oem. I guess I don’t understand your comment... These engines fire off of high pressure oil, oil is the single most important thing in all heui systems. The factory 6.0 oil filter is rated at 95% efficiency @ 20 microns and flows 18.5gpm max flow. Compare that to the lf3656 which is what I’m running. 19.87gpm max flow with a micron rating of 6 microns @ 95% efficiency. Not to mention it’s a micro glass media filter.

Nice setup, thinking I'll do the same on my tow pig, except I'll do the bpd thermostat and I run a Frantz (toilet paper) bypass oil filter that I'll probably tie in with a full flow filter setup like yours.

Fleetguard stratapore filters are excellent. It’s true the stock filter on the 6.0 isn’t much to write home about. International could have done a better job.

wats your experience with oem oil coolers rupturing?? cuz that's the scare that's BPD pushes and the main reason I was a system like this on my daily

If you are monitoring temps, it’s very much preventable. Every new diesel runs a coolant to oil cooler.

The factory oil cooler rarely ruptures and allows oil and coolant to mix. I've seen only 1 ruptured oil cooler in my 10 year diesel pickup career. Upgrades are done because coolers plug up and cant keep oil temps in check

600hp would put the truck in the 1200lbft if torque.

No issues what’s so ever. I think In hotter temps you may want to run a fan over the cooler. In colder temps, a thermostat would help.

What fuel pressure is the 6.7 pump maintaining for the 250/100s?

I have it set to 56psi, @WOT it may drop to 54psi. Has no issues keeping up

@left lane diesel. Did you hook up a temp switch to the plate to monitor eot separately. I mounted a switch to aux on plate but my eot says it’s high. Maybe it’s ready from hot side? Or should I put it at external oil cooler
